When are the DEVs releasing the detailed priority list of fixes to be done prior to release, and also a detailed list of tuner/patch fixes they won't be able to get in by launch but will shortly follow?

    We need communication EA!

PLEASE PLEASE add in the custom attributes...everybody being "equal" is just bad...no incentive fr people to get better at the game by earning the upgrades. There's still time EA, please listen to the poll IN YOUR OWN FORUM

Patch in roster share and online franchise and new skating engine Lol
    You guys are crazy :)
  • Patch in that thing that lets your players do what you press on the controller 100% of the time.

Simple! And fixes everything! I like it!

bwahahahaha! As much as everyone would like to see custom attributes its NOT going to happen! EA has a mouse 2 hamsters and a chicken struggling just to get Vegas Knights data in on time.
  • I wrote a long reply in this thread which got sent fine, went back to edit it for clarification almost immediately, and got a pop-up saying the post needed to be approved. That was early yesterday, so if there was any approving to be done, it would've been completed by now. I'm sorry this isn't a beta feedback, but it's pretty frustrating to write a long post like that explaining all of your points only to have it totally vanish.

Agreed. It's like all the things have bothered me about the series for the last several years are amplified and worse than ever. The more I play other games, the more I realize how poorly this game is made. Too bad because when Club first debuted in 09 I saw it as having the same type of potential that rocket league has reached.
  • Does anyone have an example of skating in NHL 17 and real life to display the difference? I've never noticed it being much different.

To me it's been like Madden where players have always complained about the running animation and I never really thought of it because the end result was more or less the same. The bigger point that stuck with me was always foot planting in Madden, because you could clearly see and feel the player's "skating" instead of planting their feet in legacy versions of Madden.

MadCard, out of honest curiosity, have you ever ice skated in your life? Even just tried it once or twice?

I honestly believe I was able to ice skate better than the virtual players in this game around my 4th time ever on skates (at the time, maybe 15 hours of experience skating combined over the course of 5 years from when i first put on skates) Nowdays, I could legit skate endless circles forever around the EA NHL version of skating. Not to mention, explosive acceleration from a stop, sometimes too explosive compared to this game. The skating engine has it's bright spots, but you gotta look through a microscope to find them.

Here's the other thing too that p!$$es me off about "True Performance Skating" is your supposed to be manipulating PROFESSIONAL players in this game! If this was EA Youth Hockey league - F@#$ing Mite edition I may understand. But I was under the impression that I was manipulating NHL PROFESSIONALS!

Yep, I feel the same! OVP and HUT we are using "Professional Players"! Puck pick ups for example, I was told by the EA fan boys that you have to go into a glide in order to pick the puck up cleanly! I countered with you mean to tell me that Sidney Crosby goes into a glide every time he picks up a loose puck?

I went and gave a video example of how Mario Lemieux (Lemieuxs first NHL goal, it got chipped past Ray Bourque and Lemieux picked it up in full flight) was able to skate into / pick up a loose puck without having to stop skating and go into a glide first
  • I'm liking the new camera cuts between whistles etc. I still would like more broadcast elements such as:
    - stat overlays
    - when doc and Eddie are introduced before a game, maybe Crossfade to players warming up as Eddie speaks.
    - get real audio clips of doc from actual games for big excitement moments
    - more team intros and arena views pregame
    - three stars perhaps?

Thank you too! Great example, I've seen that high light of super Mario! And here's the thing guys, this isn't some elite skill were asking for here. I'm a rec player for gods sake and I can pick the puck up full tilt numerous of times in a game, CONSISTENTLY. And yeah I'm not even a professional player. It's a pretty basic hand eye coordination skill that most squirts grasp at this stage of the game. The "glide" kills the entire game because ice hockey has evolved into a fast passed game. One where players are being regularly taught now how to perform skills at "high speed/ or in stride". Having to stop glide to perform pick ups, shooting, passing or dekeing only sets you up to get stripped of the puck or annihilated. Seriously, this isn't a new concept for the game today!

Why does here no one talk anout fine details ? The ganeplay is not all ..... Do you have rights now for drafting existing players from the US colleague leagues or Russian league ? What is about new Goalie masks ? Why can NHL Goalies not wear WHL, OHL or QMJHL masks ? What is about placing photos in all real player profiles including future drafts ? Will it come, or the same missing like all years ? Maybe to place an editor, that everyone can add or change photos ? What is about more statistic details ? One player who played for more Teams during a season should have statistics in detail not only add together and name NHL or AHL, also player statistics vs each Team he played during a season. For me important to see if player has a streak in many ways not only in scoring. A player profile should look like this .....
    http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=248583

Give is more details of that. Will there be changes in NHL 18 or not ?

EXACTLY! IF Lemieux goes into a glide to pick up that puck, there is a good chance he gets caught from behind! I'm now relegated to the 40+ beer leagues...lol...but even I can still pick up a loose puck going full tilt without having to stop skating and go into a glide

would love to see some video of you skating with and without the puck, compared to this game.

That would be hilarious! I will be waiting patiently for this!

This troll post was truly a waste of time. Thanks for wasting everyone's time.

But just to humour you, let me change my statement a tiny bit. Anyone who feels comfortable while skating (no stumbling or awkward momentary shifts of weight above the waist) can skate better than the player models in this game.
  • some friends complained about the new dekes having to do R3 etc.. I don't really care I will adapt but it got me thinking why not make control settings where you can chose/map your dekes etc..? good idea?

    * I can see the between your legs passing being spammed and getting silly.

It sounds nice on paper, but then all the broken moves (bubble creating ones) will be spammed by everyone.

I'm not too worried about between the legs moves. In the Beta it seemed like people were using it incorrectly, almost as if they expected it to magically work perfectly without any thought about the context of everything else going on in the game. Easy pass interceptions and horrible shot attempts as far as I am concerned.
