Competitive Season too Short for most

I don't understand why each part of the competitive season is so short. Most of the people that buy/spend on this game have to work to afford it. That being said why are they so short all of a sudden? Used to have 4 or 5 days to complete and now its the same number of games in just over 1 day? If all you do is live in a basement playing all day thats great but those of us that work are struggling to keep up. Many of us play more than HUT in NHL18. Could you please consider extending the seasons like in 17? It would be preferable for most I think to have a round last 5 or 6 days even if you want to increase the number of games needed to qualify.
