I'm glad that there's a thread for EASHL. It shows that there's people who kind of care.

I've been playing for a while but lately I feel that there's less incentive to play this mode.

Let's go over the positives first.

it still competitive, it has player and team progression that keeps track of all that you have earned in the mode and the team you have created and play for.
A ranking system that shows what you stack up against, a division system that splits up the elites and the rookies.

You can create your personal stadium look using the presets that must be unlocked first while playing. Create the atmosphere when you score a goal: are you a fan of metal and rock, country, rap or bluesy. Use the custom goal horns or your favorite NHL team.

There's a lot of equipment options that available to your player for you to equipment along with the skate color and the variety of attachments.

Use the Player classes given at the start of the game to predetermine how you want to play.

Here's what I think will encourage players to play more of this awesome game mode.

    1. Custom Player Builds

I am a fan of custom player classes, let me customize and define who I am VS a predetermined set of classes that were given to me by EA. But also let it be even and fair too.

    2. EASHL Teams: Your team that you create or join should be unique whether you play 2v2 or 6v6.

EA, either make you computer players unique and different every time we take the ice. Have them wear dynamically assigned names and numbers, different player types, and handedness. OR have US customize our computer players the way would like them to be such as player type, names, number, etc. to make the team we make never the same compared to any other team in the EASHL if we can't field 6 human players.

    3. Quitting before the game starts:

Too many times I had teams quit out on us before the puck was even dropped. I'd say we need to change this when you look for a game, it should be very similar to a matchmaking system such as Call of Duty or World of Tanks where you have no idea who are playing against until the pregame presentation. Include a penalty system that warns the captain before every time the chose "find a game" they WILL receive a loss if you quit during the loading screen, the pregame presentation, and at anytime during the game.

    4. EASHL stadiums:

Delete all the crappy starter rinks, community rinks, semi-pro, and amateur stadiums and give us the option to play in a authentic NHL stadiums. It is extremely boring to play in a quiet community rink.

More PRO STADIUMS that are selectable in the EASHL.

    5. Get Rid of 2v2 EASHL:

Hear me out first before you rage but listen, there are many tools that allows us to find players that are looking for teams to stay on. Wasn't this mode created so that you can field a full 6's team of humans rather than playing with computer players

Encourage your team to grow and have dependability on others. TEAMWORK!!

    6. Have Seasons Mode Feel more Rewarding than a "Blip" in the Team Progression

Display it somewhere in the stadium, make it a mini banner or something.
We just won the Division one championship and there's nothing visually to show for it when I am in a EASHL club home game there's nothing in my stadium that represents that we even won a season championship versus a monthly championship.
And when you win a Monthly banner in the playoffs, have a cut scene or something that you won the cup.

    Game play stuff:

    1. Turn off Manual shot aim. This will get of those cheesy and predictable given goal shots.
Most NHL players don't AIM, they just shoot.
    2. Have Computer goalies cheat/anticipate where you are going to shoot.
    3. Get rid of the view from the penalty box
    4. Crowd Chats and Goalie Jeers.
Honestly, I little "love" from the fans never hurt anyone as long as they don't throw something like a beer can at you.

Bring back GM connected it’s a great way to play gm more with people and make real deals not have to deal with the computer all the time
  • PLEASE BRING BACK SHORTER SEASONS.

I think I speak for the majority when I say we would like to play 30-game seasons + playoffs. (As in play against each team once only). This was awesome in NHL 2002.

Also World Cup tournament, like IIHF World Championships. And not just the usual top-tier teams, have some teams from the bottom divisions as well so they can compete.

How about adding Tournament feature (might be in ealier posts..)
To be able to create your own tournaments and playoffs. Like in the NHL 06 version (I believe it was)
Would be a great addition to the game.
  • The spengler cup and chamipons league are wonderful additions.

    1) EA please add customizable tournaments!

    2) And please add the ability to control your teammates in Be A Pro mode.

    Thank you love the game!!
  • Here's what I think will encourage players to play more of this awesome game mode.

    1. Custom Player Builds/*Legend 3*

I am a fan of custom player classes, let me customize and define who I am VS a predetermined set of classes that were given to me. But also let it be even and fair too. This promotes individuality
Height and weight affects Speed and Strength if this would also could be edited by me and other players
*Bringing back the Legend 3 Grind*: I played the least amount of drop in games due to the fact that there is no player progression system to make your player better. From NHL 09 - NHL 14 on the XBOX 360, I estimate I played more than 850-900 drop in games for each title. However, during NHL 16-18 on XBOX ONE, My estimated drop in games have been cut considerably. I estimate around 100-200 drop in games during the Xbox one for NHL 16-18.

    2. EASHL Teams:

Your team that you create or join should be unique vs. any other whether you play 2v2 or 6v6.
Allow computer players to be unique and different every time we take the ice.
Have them wear dynamically assigned names and numbers, different player types, and handedness. OR have US customize our computer players the way would like them to be such as player type, names, number, etc. to make my team different compared to any other team I meet in the EASHL if we can't field 6 human players.
Also the additions of the "C" and the two "A" patches would be cool

    A practice Mode

    3. Backing out at the Side/Player Class Select

Too many times I had teams quit out on us before the puck was even dropped. I'd say we need to change this when you look for a game, it should be very similar to a matchmaking system such as Call of Duty or World of Tanks where you have no idea who are playing against until the pregame presentation.
Include a penalty system that warns the captain before every time they chose "find a game", they WILL receive a loss if you quit during the pregame presentation, and at anytime during the game.

    4. EASHL stadiums:

Delete all the crappy starter rinks, community rinks, semi-pro, and amateur stadiums and give us the option to play in a authentic NHL stadiums. It is extremely boring to play in a quiet community rink.
I say we need more PRO STADIUMS that are selectable in the EASHL (at least 20-30) unique arenas that resemble an NHL building.

    5. Get Rid of 2v2 EASHL

Hear me out. Please listen, there are many external tools on the Xbox one that allows us to find players that are looking for teams to play on. Wasn't this mode created so someday to create a need to meet new players and field a full 6's team of humans rather than playing with computer players. Encouraging your team to grow and have dependability on others

    6. Have Seasons Mode Feel more Rewarding than a "Blip" in the Team Progression

If Our team is in Division one, can that be displayed somewhere
Display it somewhere in the stadium, make it a mini banner or something.
We just won the Division one championship and there's nothing visually to show for it when I am in a EASHL club home game there's nothing in my stadium that represents that we even won a season championship versus a monthly championship.
And when you win a Monthly banner in the playoffs, have a cut scene or something that you won the cup.
Have the EASHL seasons be longer than 10 game Season

    7. Carry over Clubs from 18 to 19

It would be awesome to have the option to carry over a previous club if we had made one in the previous editions. Previous Banners (labeled as NHL 18) and stats would be recorded and compared @ NHL 18 and NHL 19

    Game play stuff:
    1. Turn off Manual shot aim. This will make your snipe be less godlike. I would rather take a 100 shots in a game than go to one spot, skate left shoot top right corner, and be a goal everytime
Most NHL players don't AIM, they just shoot.

    2. Have Computer goalies cheat/anticipate where you are going to shoot.

    3. Get rid of the view from the penalty box in EASHL

    4. Crowd Chats and Goalie Jeers.
Honestly, I little "love" from the fans never hurt anyone as long as they don't throw something like a beer can at you.

    5. AI Defense is more aggressive, wont allow sniper type shots on goal, step up to body check, poke check, dive block a shot, etc.

    6. Hitting players into the bench.

    7. Different Fighting system

    8. Other EASHL presentation tweaks that would add flavor to the pre-game: Leading hitter, scorer, most wins. Team success/failures, etc.

Hi My name is Joey and i want to see a new feature of the NHL 19 players all mic'd up so you can hear what's going on the ice.

Whoelse would agree to seeing that?!

  • More customization is always nice. More jersey (like the old coyotes jersey***) styles, socks, pants and other various arena stuff would cool. Considering there not adidas uniforms for customization, my bet is that they’ll add it in 19

Randomize your Ai clubmates. Names, handiness and equipment. This was on old gen. Not sure why it’s not the same. Also add a practice mode and being able to save strategies for EASHL. More uniform slots instead of three(Home,Away,Alternate)

A big request i have is roster sharing. Quite sure madden has it, how come NHL doesn’t?

***=Something is telling me licensing has something to do with this.

While I'll say that the change to classes has affected my # of drop ins played as well, Competitive (esport) play CANNOT have the Legend 3 grind. All players must be equal.
Speed also has to stay locked across classes because it is by far the most useful stat in any sport game.
    2. EASHL Teams:
    A practice Mode
hell ya. Online practice mode is much needed.
    3. Backing out at the Side/Player Class Select

Too many times I had teams quit out on us before the puck was even dropped. You dont want to know how many humans youre against or what the connection is like? I do. We back out if its a yellow connection. We back out if theyre a 2 vs our 4.

Level up your club and you can get rid of the crappy starter rink yourself.

I do think that 2v2 EASHL should be its own thing on the Leaderboards and not tied into club ranks the way they are. Can currently see 6v6 and 3v3 stats on their own, but 2v2 stats are grouped in with 5v5. I prefer 5v5 over 6v6, but those 5v5 stats and leaderboard are combined with 2v2 stats.

    Game play stuff:
    1. Turn off Manual shot aim. This will make your snipe be less godlike. I would rather take a 100 shots in a game than go to one spot, skate left shoot top right corner, and be a goal everytime
Most NHL players don't AIM, they just shoot.
lol lock everyone on autoaim? I see we're after COMPLETELY different things here. You want a turbo filled custom player autoaim mode where if you played 500 games, your player is better than someone who just bought the game.
I disagree so hard with all of that. EASHL is in the direction of the competitive / esport mode. What you're after is HUT.
    EASHL player
  • I don't think it would be asking too much to have the characters representing NHL hockey players to be smart enough to keep the puck onside when holding the line unchallenged, instead of having their stick in the neutral zone to receive a pass from down low or trying to prevent a dump, and forwards staying onside when receiving a pass from the defensive zone (no matter how hard i pull back on the left stick, dude ALWAYS continues skating into the zone like 5 strides before the puck gets there).

Here another thing to add or take away:

Get rid of Competitive Ratings for players

Have all 3v3 games in EASHL unranked

Have the option to Hide your player level/Badge in EASHL

Bring back Public Lobbies (NHL 09-15) but allow for the Random Matchmaking system to still be used

In Drop In EASHL game: Let's Play in an authentic NHL team stadium if the Users pick a NHL team vs. a generic drop in arena.

Goalie improvements: I dont play enough goalie to know what could be improved. Any serious goalies out there that play on a regular basis in EASHL or Be a Pro would like to reply to see any improvement or innovation at the Goalie position?

so MooseHunter10, I dont know you and have no idea what your looking for in next years game so post your stuff so i understand what you expectations are before I start critiquing your post (and misunderstanding it in the process). Realize that this is a Wish list, NHL 19 will probably not be as much different as it is now. Its something that I would like to see but it would never ever happen.

I think it is funny that you back out when you have a yellow bar connection it's mostly your fault (dont dowload/upload stuff while you're playing and dont have more devices connected to your network to help your gameplay experience so it is less laggy. I know EA servers have issues and I have games where my ping/response times are less desirable. You know what, I still find a way to win in a couple of them and usually for me, i have a good connection with my ping is between 20-38 m/s a night.

Back out when I see your four (elite players) vs me and my buddy and you tuck tail and run, (Then Match your club size, so you get 4V4.) I'm also questioning your manhood on this one because I don't care how many players i'm playing against every night because every team uses the same method/Player class to score goals

My club is maxed out, I play in a pro Stadium 3. You misunderstood that I want More Selectable pro stadiums options in the customize club options. Even pick a NHL stadium to play in

Esports (What a joke, a copout for people who arent skilled/dont want to put in the hard work in a REAL sport). Did you notice that NONE of the players are EQUAL in any sport? and esports was made by people who wish who could play a pro sport but unfortunately due to lack of skill, talent, size, strength, etc. CANT.

Never once I said "I want a super charged turbo skater with me scoring 7 goals a game" NO, I want something that I want to create and develop as my own player in the EASHL. Wouldn't someone in real life who played 500 games more than a rookie in his/her first start, ITS OBVIOUS that the more experienced player would have a better chance at winning.

    Be a Pro:
    • Being able to sign a pro contract to a European league, if you don't make it in the NHL team
    • Being able to start your career in a European league before getting drafted
    • Being able to go to World Junior Championships and then to World Cup of Hockey, every 4 years
    • Being able to sign an NHL contract extension mid season and not only off-season

    I wish the same things

    +

    - new engine Frostbite
    - 4K + HDR support for PS4Pro
    - license with the IIHF and the ability to set the Ice Hockey World Championships (+ teams from Division A - Poland, Italy, Great Britain, etc.)

  • Such a small feature, but i used to love the old NHL games where you could assign captains in EASHL club.
  • NHL 19 Wishlist

I'm mostly a franchise mode player so I will only stick to that part of the game.

    Trades

    - there needs to be an option to offer up a player to a team. On the trade screen have an option to say "what would you offer me for this player? Maybe even have it suggest multiple outcomes including, "we don't want this player you have offered". This could also be done with asking for a player from an opponent too. Basically asking what you would give me for player X, and also being able to ask what do you want for your player X, draft picks etc...

Have the ability to make 3 way trades. I'm too sure how to approach this but it is a thought I'd like to mention.

    Draft & Scouting

    - This might remind you all of the defunct prospects game from franchise modes in the past. Why not have a "workout" session with select players of your choosing? No limit as to how many players you want to look at, and no time limit of the session as well. Hey, why not include the prospects game to complete the package.

All prospects should have stats and team standings for the current season. You should include stats from the CHL and European leagues. This could give you the option to look at your drafted players as well as the prospects for the upcoming drafts. Being able to keep an eye on your players as well as the next ones. It would not change what your scouts have revealed in terms of potential. This could provide options to sign late BLOOMERS. What I mean is players that are playing junior but are now turning 20 at the draft, can be signed for next season as junior players who can't leave mid season to join the NHL and won't be in the draft. They currently only appear in free agency. If nothing else at least add the player stats and the standings. Please include playoffs and the memorial cup stats.

    In Game

    - Please allow the option to turn off the broadcast mode. I really hate when I see the upcoming games list right over my line selections. I want to see who I'm putting on the ice. Turning off the announcers makes the game look stupid, because it goes through the motions of dialogue. So please have the broadcast as an option.

You can still have the NBC logo in the scoreboard graphic that's always on the screen. It should be a bar across the top of the screen and not a box in the top corner.

    World Cup of Hockey

    - Allow it as an option when starting a new franchise mode. Have the ability to set it to every 2, 4, 6, or 8 seasons. There would be no need to have it called the world cup or the Olympics.

My theory is just have an EA world cup or something like it. You can select your preferred nation, again at the beginning of the franchise mode. For how often you have selected the frequency of the tournament to occur, you get to select your team. Once your team is all set go out and play for gold. That would be really fun.

    Contracts

    - There should be more than just dollar value and weather it's a 1 way or 2 way in the contract. The following criteria should be part of the negotiation.

No movement/trade clauses. If a player has a no movement clause, you can't send him to the AHL.
A not trade clause explains itself. It can be set as a demand and you can offer the player these types of offers in the contract. A no movement clause might help lower the dollar value? Just speculating on how this could work.

The no trade clause could be a list of ten team the player will go to or a list of teams he won't go to.

Hope that you NHL devs read and consider these ideas.

    Thanks

For a brief period of time, CR mattered to me. Now it doesnt, and it doesn't bother me that it matters to other people. On 1 hand, I'd like to see drop ins group players into games with similar CR. Get your CR high enough, and you'd be free from the trolls and scrubs. On the other, I enjoy not caring about my CR, as it allows me to play with friends who plain suck at this game.

The 3v3 EASHL leaderboard is separated from the rest, isnt it? I know for individual player stats, you get a different leaderboard. Assumed when I was looking at the top clubs leaderboard, that I wasn't looking at stats including arcade 3s games.

Public Lobbies: Drop Ins were a better experience back then than now, no debating that.

Back outs: 2 reasons -> i) 4s dont want to wait forever to match just another 4. Would accept a 3 or a 5, but no interest in a 2. EA doesn't give the tools to search for SameSize +/-1, so backing out is the only option.
ii) Auto Region select doesn't always seem to work (given that match goalie doesn't always work, this is no surprise). East coast matchups i get ~ 18ms, but West Coast puts me over 50ms.

Arena: I get ya on this now. A good unlock for them would be each Div 1 title / playoff banner earned, you get to unlock a NHL arena.
Esports (What a joke, a copout for people who arent skilled/dont want to put in the hard work in a REAL sport). If you've played 500 games, you will beat a rookie. You shouldn't need stat boosts to accomplish this. HUT is the mode that gives you that, as it's a byproduct of the dopamine-reward loop. There is also offline be a pro if you want to grow your player.

EASHL is the balanced mode for competitive team play. The development over playtime is in your hands, your vision and your teamplay.

I really feel the class system is integral to that balanced competitive play. You know what you're up against, and what those classes are capable of. You know you have to play an opposing sniper different than an opposing power forward. And none of the classes are useless, not even Enforcer, as they're all the same top speed, and they're all capable of putting the puck in the net. There is uniqueness across the classes, but also balance. I expect the Game Changers deserve the credit there.

I've suggested flavour of the week classes that join the default list. I've got nothing against more variety being brought in, and for the NHL/NHLPA to get involved with tournaments/marketing, they'd probably want Class flavours of current NHLers (dumbed down to 70 overall) added.

The best change in EASHL history was them locking player speed. In the final year of GM Connected (nhl 14?) a 72 overall Mason Raymond was a better player than 95 overall Henrik Sedin because of speed. There was no need to play a team game before, when most goals were off rushes down the wing. Now its a team game.

USHL, NCAA leagues a must. More statistics. This game lives from stats. In Franchise mode want to see all player stats and trades of each player from the league during the career. Its important when I search for trading parameters of a player. A real player history with all facts during his career. The same for Clubs. Why is it not possible to view past year stats of my Team ? The real player faces and appearance is a must for every real player in the game. So scan there faces and add. Same as player pics. Why not to play with more than one Team during a Franchise career ? Why not to play a career in other leagues ? More information and facts during the game. Hit streaks, cold streaks of players. This is important for trading.
The Gameplay is good, so work on this details and let the gameplay like it is.
