Make special events other than giveaways. This could include things like teddy bear tosses, player events, a WINTER CLASSIC, and maybe even special jerseys. The events could boost fan happiness, team morale, or budget depending on what you do with it.
A teddy bear toss could boost fan happiness, but also cost a little money to clean them all up.
Player events could include signings, parties, and skating on the ice with them, this would improve fan happiness and player morale, but cost more.
The winter classic could be a really fun option. If you choose to do one, you can choose certain venues (football or baseball) and do other activities with it. This would be very expensive to make up for it.
Special jerseys could be made with a certain theme. (Superhero, movies, throwback, etc.) Then you can make the jerseys and auction them away. When you auction them, you can choose to keep the money or donate it. Each with its own benefits.
How about scrapping that morale **** or at least change the way it works? And team meeting....What player loses morale after hearing a coach say: Let's go guys, let's come out strong" or whatever...The only things affecting morale should be individual or team performance.
I would like to see a complete new EASPORTSNHL team that knows about hockey and cares about this franchise rather caring about money.
Anyone find it odd a few years ago they had some of the YouTubers there to have a look and play the game ahead of release, all of those YouTubers liked and promoted it. Right after the game came out you go and look at those YouTubers that same year they talk trash about the game it's actually pretty funny. A bunch of them even game clean and said that they were paid to promote the game as not only they would receive a payment but also free EA products.
I'd also like to see a new gaming engine, like seriously how long has the new engine been out and yet NHL still uses the old?
And lastly I'd like to see a game not copy and pasted from the previous year, and sure we know EA says they don't do this but come on EA same game bugs year after year as well as I just seen the same roster mistakes. Somethings got to give EA with the lies your feeding us.
I'd really like to see one of the famous gaming forums ask questions about all the issues about this EANHL team and see how they try and work their way out of the questions cause seriously this is the same game over and over again.
Can you please, after all these years, get the colour of the goaltending equipment right...? Have goalie masks and goalie equipment that match alt jerseys etc... it's ridiculous that in NHL 18, the opposing goalies pads and gloves are the team colours of MY team's uniform and not there's...
NHL series will be dead unless they bring back the lobby system (where people can enter into their own games) and improve their servers. Quit being a cheap **** company and grab a central server.
It takes wayyyyy too long to find a drop in game during prime hours. You're lucky to find a game in 5 minutes, I've waited as long as 45 minutes with a 6s lobby at 9 eastern on a weekend. I'd love to play this game more, but there's nothing more frustrating than wanting to play the game but knowing it'll take so bloody long to find a game. Let alone during morning hours.
Those 2 are a must to work on. If they're not, goodbye to EA's NHL franchise. You're already seeing the decline, you can save your bed by doing those two things, but mandatory lobby system > improving servers (sadly).
Fix TPS so that it's responsive for once.
Fix terrible goalie animations
Fix awful puck pickups

It's a half-decent skating engine offline when the sliders are right, however EA refuses to put on good sliders (the community has been asking for weeks to just adjust 18's to get the skating a bit better) and when there's no lag it is at least somewhat okay. Problem is online they have awful servers (unless you live in Quebec or Ontario).

Could be finally Winter Classic, All star game competition. Those would be two blockbuster mode additions. Add some specific minor boosts to stats by items in EASHL. If you want to have fun hitting, you'd equip equipment that actually does boost your bodychecks and so.
There could be a little boost to players who play EASHL more since they'd have more items with slightly higher stats than a beginner but still. For example you'd get a crate for each game won. We really need this feature because even tho EASHL is fun, there is no reason to play it other than for leveling your player.
You shouldn't have almost all sticks and stuff unlocked immediately.
Having 200 drop in users at the same time on saturday evening in NHL 18 in November is alarming enough while NHL 17 had 700+ last year at the same time. You need to add this or nobody will play EASHL later.
You could improve hut challenges. Playing the same challenge over and over just to finally get on powerplay is very frustrating. At least make a script that you will 100% get on powerplay on challenges which have this objective at least once or only once per match.
Return of boost items or captaincy/assistants items in HuT need to return. What might be even better would be this. Why we actually can't have "change team" items also in next NHL? Why couldn't we mix synergies with line chemistries from previous years. It would make it even harder and more rewarding for creating the best line. This is however debatable BUT captaincy and assistant items really need to return. There would be no excuse if they wouldn't get in NHL 19 hut, you want to have a captain of your team.
You need to change the market, players are giving you feedback since NHL 17 that superstar players are too cheap on the auction house. You should overally make the drop chances way lower. It's not normal that I get 86 overall every second pack. It doesn't keep me playing if I can get the team equal to all star team in a week or two.
Gameplay is up to you guys, I don't know what could you do different. My only opinion on gameplay is that it's too fast. There's too much of action. NHL 17 was better in that. My advice would be to make defensive stick slower to control because I can swap my stick from left to right too fast. In hockey you don't have such strong hands to be able to nonstop swap the stick around so quickly and it makes the pokechecks too overpowered.
While I don't think there is much what could be done in gameplay (while It should definitely has some new features like last years because there is allways something to improve) you could this time invest your time in 5-man celebrations.
They'd really only add up to the feel of hockey game, especially in be a pro or EASHL, or atleast keep two man celebrations but make other 3 players actually cheer too and skate to you after you score and at least they'd slap your head with their hand or so.

You've done a lot of work in terms of gameplay this year, I really hope that next year you'll work on modes and really implement most of what I've mentioned in this post.
In franchise mode with player growth. Please bring in the option to give your team off ice training similar to BAP. Make it so you can do it with individual players or have the entire team do it or for people that are lazy let assistant coach do it and or set it weekly/monthly.
It help so much if you could go into your nhl or ahl club and look at their weaknesses and get them training with on ice or off ice stuff to help with speed or strength or face offs etc.
Honestly, my only wish is that they bring back the 1 hand windmill dangle. That was the GOAT move in 14, I know it's semi back this year but if you played 14 and utilized it, you'd know what I'm talking about. NHL 18 is my favorite game since 14, EA finally listened to the fans (at least me)
Remove replays.(Exept maybe after a goal.) They are annoying and no one wants to see the same glitch goal 3 times on a highlight reel. Nobody watches it. It slows down the play, there's way to many of em. Nobody wants to feel like they are watching a game. They want to feel like they are playing it. Lets play, not watch replays.
Fix lag. My whole team exept me is complaining about that. And its the only game they complain.
Make attributes matter. i dont get why every player feels the same.
bring back the grinding. i want something to work for. Attributes, gears , idk. But bring back some kind of grinding.
Stop releasing games every year. Servers are dead. We need everyone on the same season.
Remove faceoff and penalty animation. They are annoying. Lets play, not watch animations. Nobody wants to see a guy throwing his arms in the air every single penalty he takes.
And i know this one is crazy and will never happen. But remove positions from drop ins. Every single faceoff should random position for players. That way, crazy D guy that never hold his position might be more willing to play D if next time he might be fwd. And lets face it, drop ins are drop ins and not really serious. Lets just have fun...
We need to wake up and realize that nothing we ask for will be considered by EA. Every year these wish lists get posted on multiple forums and all have good and legitimate requests for things that would make a better hockey experience as well as asking for legacy issues to be resolved and each year we are disappointed. As long as people continue to pour money into HUT, and judging by people’s teams they are spending more money than ever, EA will continue to ignore everything else. As of now they make maximum profit with minimum efforts
