no shot lol. stuff like this happens WAY too much.

Thanks for posting. It is always good to see the video example to understand what is happening in individual situations.

We are looking at cases where players have shown examples of not getting shots as requested.

In this case, it looks like you may have just missed the shot window by pressing to the top right corner rather than straight up and then as you roll into the center, where it may then have started to play a shot animation, the defender gets stick on stick contact disrupting the control of the puck.

I will have the team look at the size of the shooting window at the top of the right stick in their investigations and see what the actual degrees it spreads to if you and others are having a hard time pressing closer to straight up. It is a fine line though since as players try and deke, they don't want accidental shots and sometimes as players are going right to left, they actually roll a bit up before they slide across and through the middle even though they feel they are just going right to left -- so that is why it isn't just a really big pie section at the top.

thanks for looking into this. a lot of this stuff you have to take our word for though, because we can't pause the game and record the problems we see with the controller inputs included. this happened to be at the end of the period so i was able to capture it. notice how the other team came down and scored right after that lol.

stuff like the wonky pivots you just have to play the game to see for yourself. if you could look into why our guys turn the wrong direction after puck pickups on the boards that would be great as well. i notice far too many times our players spin the opposite direction of what we are holding on the controller. there are a lot of good things about the game now, but they are overshadowed by these little bugs that just ruin the experience.

i have also seen the loop glitch first hand although it hasn't cost any team i've played with a goal yet. this has been in the game for far too long to still be an issue. desyncing should be a top priority, it didn't seem to be an issue last year so why is it a problem this year @sjusoccer9?

lastly, if we are going to continue to have the LT be the skate backwards button can we at least have it as responsive as it was last year? myself and others have noticed there is a discernible lag now between when you press LT and your guy starts to pivot.

thanks for taking the time to respond if you need videos of anything i'll do my best to capture it. i really want this to be my go-to game as it has been since 09.

There are like 3 things that have totally destroyed the game imo

    1. its a constant fight vs the controller for me. The game is just not responsive at all, often ignoring button presses in crucial situations (this is the most evident when there is CPU on the ice). I honestly have never played a game where you press buttons and nothing happens.

    2. The NHL team has done nothing to encourage teams to play with all humans. Instead you give massive advantages to the AI to where teams with more human players won't even consider playing team with less. That right there is by far the dumbest thing I've ever heard of in a competitive video game. Teams with 6 humans should be licking their chops when a team of 2 pops up, not pressing B as fast as they can to back out. You even took out the 2nd dressing room which almost totally killed 6s

    3. The pre-set builds. I'm not going to bother arguing about it, I'm just going to state a fact. I know a lot, and I mean a lot of people who quit playing because of that. I have yet to meet a single person who told me they bought the game because the pre set builds were put in the game. I never heard anyone say they were going to quit if that wasn't changed.

  • I just want to feel like I can control my player again... The best thing they can do is to go back to how the game was in NHL 15 on last gen and just mimic that as much as possible with a few tweaks here and there.
  • Didn't play 15 on 360. All I know is for about the last 5+ years the eashl community has gotten smaller and this couldn't be further from an esports type competitive game. I don't know what the h3// is in the game code that makes the game take over control of your player, ignore button presses, and just be totally unresponsive overall but it is destroying your game. I can't see how the shot callers in the development of the game can't see that. This game sucks, and it has for quite some time.
  • saturday night LG is a ghost town. everyone is playing fortnight.
  • @NHLDev another thing that i believe is a huge detriment to 6v6 hockey is having so many refs on the ice. they literally get in your way constantly especially while playing defense. even if they don't affect the play much they are in the way and clutter the ice. they skate in front of you and seem to chase you around and cut you off. just removing 3 of them and that would be huge improvement. if you're playing a team with dark jerseys they can also look like opponents.

since EASHL does not need the realism of NHL VS or offline sim modes can we please get a few of these guys removed if it's not too hard of a fix?

I honestly was really enjoying the game until the patch. It's entirely possible it's all in my head, but since the patch I feel like it's NHL 17 again. Guys we're skating and pivoting much crisper before the patch (to the point where it felt like a new game), and now I feel like it's back to 3-wheeled shopping cart bumper car hockey, just like NHL 17. Guys are spinning all over the place, facing up wrong, getting stuck in wonky pivot animations.. none of this was happening pre-patch to me.

I know the official patch notes say nothing was changed except some stability issues but I'm wondering if it effected the servers somehow giving me fat-man lag again.

I contacted Xbox live support tonight and got a refund for my digital purchase. I can't go through another year of this.

Agree 100 percent.this is the most accurate post I've seen.great outta the box.went to crap after the patch.

Not that anyone is listening ... especially to this nhl 17 forum. But I agree completely. The Refs serve absolutely no purpose and just clutter up a game that is already at times a clunky mess.
