Breakaway challenges

Grinding out all the offline challenges to get the coin balance up but really struggle with any that involve scoring on a breakaway. Lucky if I get one breakaway per game. Is there any strategy or method that would create more breakaway chances in games??

I'd set your team to aggressive. I found it hard too with breakaway. Especially on the harder levels. But it is a challenge

Of course, I’m enjoying the “challenge”. It’s good practice for online games

Tried position locking to a forward and just hovering round the neutral zone while the other team are attacking then soon as/if an a.i defender gets the puck I call for a pass and go but it’s not 100% effective

It's pretty easy once u get the hang of it. The key is to be up by 1 or 2 goals with a minute left in 3rd. The opposing team will pull the goalie and all players will converge on your goalie trying to score that tieing goal. Then just be ready get a rebound and there will always be one of your players breaking out pass the puck race past the last defender then empty net that bad boy.

All the time.. compiled every reward card even the superstar evo challenge. That was the hardest. Had to get a sh goal left. Got 1 goal. Ragged the puck for 5 minutes. When the SO pulled goalie shot puck over board to take a penalty. Then empty net sh..

I hate the breakaway challenges. I scored so many times on breakaways, even the broadcaster says "breakaway" but the system do not count my goal as breakaway.

I hate that. Happens to me all the time. I think if you veer to far from the defender it wipes out the breakaway. Key is to have him stay on your tail. It's still hard to score in superstar mood with those goalies acting like supermen.

No you just have to be alone when you cross the blue line for it to count as a breakaway

What I do is position lock and don't try to score the entire game unless it's a breakaway. I just kinda skate from the defenseman so they get the pass and then rush them. And then just skate past them if I miss in case my AI gets it. Or I try and get my goalie to cover it up and then off faceoff.. I go through both defenseman and hope my AI sends it to me. All I got.
