Puck from another dimension

https://youtu.be/QJRtsuDdBDM

Was playing some co-op HUT with my kid, and this happened. This just is disgusting. First the puck goes through a jersey, not just go through, it alters the fabric of reality. Then it goes right through the next guys leg. It flutters into the air and right into the goal.

That's perfectly normal in EAs world. That's EAs version of a REALISTIC Hockey game right there!
  • You guys should check out the video. Just sums up how bad this game is. You will love the part where it turns part of the jersey into a bubble and goes right through it. Absolutely laughable.
  • Should see the video I have after I checked a player. He landed on the ice, then bounced back up in the air and back down again. "EA physics....it's in the game."

I guess this is one of the ways they make sure the score is close every game. The game makes sure a goal is scored no matter what.

That's PERFECTLY NORMAL in EAs world, nothing wrong with that goal! Having good COLLISION DETECTION makes the game NO FUN and UNPLAYABLE

Yeah because everything else going on is fun and playable right? LOL

  • I love the sound the puck makes as it goes through the jersey.
  • Visibility yes it goes through the jersey but I think what the engine is simulating is that it is more deflecting off the guys back.

I mean realistically a glance off a jersey will not stop a 90 mph shot.. Slow it down and change the direction sure but not stop it.

Hey, I tried to logically explain what EA might be thinking in this case...LOL!

  • Had this issue a few times with Goalie pads as well...including the OT winner in Game 6 of a playoff series that sent me packing. ... :( ....

The two clips in this video were from back-to-back games tonight. The second one is especially egregious. An unscreened backhand from the blue line. Ended up being the difference in the game.

Hmm... how are the apologists going to defend this one?
  • First problem I have is you don't go down to ice level to show if the pads are fully on the ice. They appear to be from the angle given and it looks like a problem with the puck going through.

What if it's an animation issue with the pads not fully being on the ice and the puck is just going under them when they should be on the ice to stop it?

The other thing it could be is latency related. You see one thing but the server is seeing something slightly different. Perhaps the server sees the goalie dropping down just too late and the puck is properly going through the 5-hole.

The only way to know if that's the case is for ea to save every game in full (like csgo) and allow the participants to download a full demo of the game from the server so you can compare what you saw at any given moment to what the server saw.
  • A goal was scored against me the other day where the opposing player shoots from the point with a teammate down low near my goalie. This player shoved my goalie completely out of the way of the puck, clearly interfering with him, only to be completely square in front of the puck himself.

Although the puck hit the man square in the chest, right on the logo, it went clean through him and into the net.

    Freaking ridiculous.
