EASHL AI not passing/bad passes

Why do they not head man the puck even when I call for it over and over they make me go offside when the clear common sense move is to head man the puck?

Also when in the wide open slot they never get it to me, and if I do call for it its never placed where I’m heading, the AI passes to where I WAS at at the time I called for the pass originally and hence the pass is off, usually 2-3 feet behind my guy, which is stupid. Like that’s peewee lessons, you pass to where the play is headed, not where its at...duh

Also WHY on earth When for some miracle the AI chooses to actually make the common sense pass to me, if the pass is in motion a split second after I call for it (assuming the ignorant AI is not going to make the common sense play) then the minute I get the puck my guy passes to the middle of nowhere and turns it over.

EA can you please pull your head out of your @zz!!!! This should be the easiest patch known to man and something that would increase the flow of gameplay and make for a better overall playing experience. C’monnnnn maaaaaaaan JEEEEEZ!!!! Why does this game have to be so infuriating at times....

Rant over...but please pile it on endlessly so maybe EA will get the picture, can’t believe they STILL haven’t fixed this and we’ve been begging for it for years now....

  • ALSO, if more than one player calls for the pass at the same time, If in the D-zone the AI should choose the least risk option, if in the O-Zone the AI should choose the one in greatest scoring capacity. There needs to be some kind of system, not completely randomized as it seems it is. Or the AI just doesn’t pass at all and freezes with the puck which is also dumb...fix please EA...
  • Do you actually think the CPU should automatically get you the puck everytime you stick tap?

This years cpu passing actually seems to be much improved with decision making and the addition of bank passes. If you manage to get open on a breakout, they’ll get you the puck. It’s really that simple. I’m assuming you’re rushing up ice, getting too close to defenders, and then spamming stick tap. That’s not what it’s purpose is for.

If you’re skating around stick tapping all game long then why are you playing eashl at all?
  • It's because players always think they are open...do you pass the puck right away when you get it? Just treat them like another human player...worry about getting open or setting up for a shot and more times than not you will get a good pass.
  • I don’t even do anything like what you guys are saying. I think it’s funny how you guys automatically assume I must be a stick spamming newb? Do y’all work for EASPORTS? Like trying to defend the AI is laughable. They are soooo bad. Yes I do get open and they pass it to the worse spots, or like I said it’s not tape to tape, its off. And more times then not if two players ask for the pass at the same time the AI will make the wrong choice....common sense
  • Trust in the force Luke...the AI is just as good and probably even better than your average online hockey human.
Do they make some mistakes...yup...do you make some mistakes ??...yup
Just relax and play the game man
  • You're probably right there, Catfish.

I our last EASHL game I was playing the d-man, we were about the get a power play, had the puck circling in the offensive zone, I was at the blueline waiting for a pass, and the sixth AI player skates on the ice... straight into my ****, jostling me. Sounds like your average human hockey intelligence to me, yes. :#

The problem with the AI (one them anyways), it doesn't 'see' where your player is. Unless it's on the opposite side: then it not only sees where you are, but also where you're gonna be in a fraction of a second (input reading).

I'd link to think i'm pretty good at reading comprehension, that being said do you want to do a quick summary for me of what you're trying to say

I am using the foreign speaker card here bud, sorry.

I link to think it was pretty obvious though. :/

And what is your common sense telling you the AI should do when two players tap for the puck at the same time?

Maybe you need to change the way you’re playing then? I can honestly say I might stick 2 times per game and even on those I don’t need to. That’s whether I’m playing 3’s or 6’s. Like someone else said, treat them like another human player. You shouldn’t rely on the cpu as a crutch to get you the puck as soon as they touch it.

Yeah I guess I have trust issues...not just with the AI, but the other human players constantly spam for the pass and force the AI to force them the puck. I actually am the same as you, only calling for the pass a handful of times, if that, but with that said. The AI could still be much improved, I don’t think its a fallacy to make that ascertation....
