What are goalie-cards for?

Rareley see a goalie do what he is supposed to do...slapshots going in like crazy. Did not hink they could be worse but since the last Update they are completely useless...

  • Pull your goalie and play with 6 skaters. That should answer your question

Lol....this was great. But I kind of get what he is saying. I see very little difference between running an 88 goalie out or a 93 goalie. I’ve gone through a ton of goalies this season and the results are just very random. I think it’s done by design as it’s the one position on the ice nobody plays. if a few goalies were much better than the rest everyone would just buy those rendering the rest useless.
  • Goalie threads are nearly as popular as threads about pack luck.
I personally think that goalie card is the most important card you can have because that's the only player you generally don't get to control therefore can't compensate lack of stats with skill. With that being said, I do understand where this is coming from. Yes, your 93 goalie will have games where he is leaking everything and your 86 in certain games will be nearly unbeatable. But I do believe that 93's best game will be much better than 86's and his worst won't be as bad.

  • The two best goalies I’ve used were an 89 Crawford and my current 91 Lundqvist. The worst a 93 Brodeur and 93 Bobrovsky. They let in 3-4 goals a gane often with 12 or less shots. I still feel like it’s just random luck
  • let's face it, goalies aren't very important in HUT, EA has deliberately made it so. If they were any good, the little darling HUT players wouldnt' get to score, and then EA would sell a lot less packs. It's all about offense, so the goalies will remain crap evermore. Soft goals, patented 'bug' wristers etc. the goalies just don't react to these.
  • Goalies are the same for everyone. So it shouldn't be an issue for you. There are bigger fish to fry.
  • My 94 Bobrovsky is by far the best I have ever had. My 92 Hasek (fav. goalie ever) was letting garbage in.

My 86 OVR Freddie Andersen TOTW card is actually lights out for me. My ICE Martin Jones is horrific.
