A teammate tonight had two games with 65% packet loss. It was brutal. To be honest I was shocked he was able to stay connected until the end off the game each time.
Normally I'd chalk this up to a network problem on his end but I noticed a few other people with the same complaints over on the ea_nhl Reddit.
Has anyone else seen this problem lately?
Ton of people I played with tonight had crazy packet loss.

Last few days we've had players getting the occasional game at 64-67% packet loss and <15ms ping.
Now we have everyone use Dpad to check their packet loss on strategy change before puck drop, quiting if anyone has it. Rematched a team after needing this, and everyone was perfect. Seems completely random.

Has your team tried relocating to Quebec in order to remedy the connection?
So the past 3 days, me and my buddies have been experience ridiculously input to control latency (1 second+). As i go to my network performance during the intermission, my screen always reads 9ms PING on average but a 67% packet loss. This is extremely frustrating.
Its completely random at who gets this delay but at least 95% of the time its at least 1 person. Sometimes its 2 of us. In any case, it makes the game unplayable. Now we've dont the whole restart your ps4, restart the router blah blah blah....same issue, nothing has chanced. This happens in both EASHL and in Drop. Doesnt matter who is Captain.
Tried again tonight, same thing. 65% packet loss for at least one member two straight games. We just decided to call it a night. Just not worth the aggregation.
For what it's worth EA puts the blame on internet backbone problems:
Yeah for about 3 days every 10th game or so roughly 65% packet loss. It's totally random yet somewhat consistent. And no it has nothing to do with "backbone" issues lol. This group is ridiculous
We are aware of the connectivity issues/packet loss that some of our players have been experiencing over the past few days and we are actively trying to solve this. We've also seen reports that the connection issues are dying down, fingers crossed it won't last too long.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience this caused you, regardless if the issues are on our end our not we want to get you back into the game.
Thanks for the update Roger. However, the internet "backbone" has not caused the server issues that have plagued the game for the past several months. This is obviously (sort of) the worst it has been, but the game has been borderline unplayable for months. If EA put even a small fraction of the resources you put into games like Fifa and Madden into building stable servers for NHL instead of piggy backing, you would have a ton of much happier customers. Instead, you have a lot of people on the verge of putting this game down and never picking it up again. I personally used to play almost every day and now I very rarely play and I am considering not even buying NHL 19. Horrendous.

Whats this about?
I’m gonna guess it’s sarcasm...as in ...hey the Quebec servers are great...have you considered moving to Quebec ...!??? Lol

can't lump every scenario into one "silver bullet" single issue.
This is happening couple a times a night for everyone I know. Would be nice if we knew the quality of s game going in. Also would be nice to have more than 2 secs to check game quality before puck drop.
Another night scuttled. This time everybody had 0% packet loss prior to puck drop and then immediately a couple of people were experiencing severe lag. Sure enough, they had 65% packet loss when they checked at the intermission.
Without the ability to check for this problem prior to the game starting there's no point in even attempting to start a game.
This issue has been around for quite a few weeks started small occasional games with 65% packet loss. But has grown over time. I'm also getting thrown into more and more "yellow games" that I just back out from dressing room. I'm sure it's something wrong on the server side.
Just can't believe EA keeps doing nothing about all these problems that lead to so many bad experiences.

it happens. you can have redundancy but when switch sites get hit and lose power and manholes are flooded there is only so much you can do.

agree on the pre-game check, tho.
let it sit and monitor in the lobby or while loading in???? just show connections to all avail servers? food for thought.
