Jerseys need some fixing for NHL 19
I know, it's not the biggest thing, but it still bothers me. The adidas jerseys need some work for NHL 19, especially with the striping and the back numbers. Just take a look at the following pics comparing the jerseys in real life and the ones in NHL 18. The space between the numbers and the bottom stripes is way too small for many jerseys. And the bottom stripes should be curved. I doubt EA will fix this in a patch, but maybe for NHL 19.
Boston

Buffalo (also the yellow should be more goldish)

Carolina (also numbers and striping thickness are way off)

Chicago

Dallas

Edmonton

Nashville (also the yellow is too bright)

NY Islanders (also the blue should be darker)

NY Rangers

Philadelphia (also numbers outline should be thicker and the orange seems a bit off)

Pittsburgh

St. Louis (also the yellow is too bright)

Tampa

Vancouver

2) Ratios (ie. numbers to waist stripe) are incorrect as they clearly haven't been adjusted from the Reebok era. Expect this to change next season, but they clearly didn't have time to make an overhaul here beyond general cosmetics.
3) Color... you're comparing actual photos to videogame renders. The colors are 1:1 accurate, but video game lighting isn't going to be a perfect replica. Not only this, but you're directly comparing harsh overhead game lighting... in-arena is a much better representation of the actual look.
People’s confidence when being laughably wrong will never fail to amaze me. It’s actually pretty common knowledge that the new AdiZero jerseys have curved striping on the bottom of the jerseys. It’s not an illusion, it’s reality.
It terms of color, if I’m playing a video game that’s supposed to represent what I see AT A GAME, then I’d like for the jersey colors in game to look like they do AT A GAME, not how they look off the ice on a store shelf. Kind of like how I’d like to see PK Subban skate like he’s PK Subban rather than a confused 2 year-old, but we still haven’t even came close to that in this next generation of NHL games, so I won’t hold my breath.
The jerseys and their execution are simply a small look into the overall scope of this series on XB1/PS4. Looks good at a quick glance, but if you bother to look at it for more than five seconds, huge problems are able to be recognized be even the least experienced users.
The Adidas symbol on back is way too big as well.
As far as create-a-team goes, I think the chest logos need to be way bigger like real life. They seem incredibly small for center chest logo size.
Yes for the CAT logos, they also need to be raised a bit on some of the styles. The logo is too low, creates an awkward gap from the neck down to the logo.
Im a huge jersey guy, and this series seems to be behind (shocker) when it comes to making everything accurate. When the penguins first released those jerseys as alternates, I’m oretty certain NHL 15 (X360) had the color a lot closer than any of the X1 games have so far...
Looking at the blues on the X1 just hurts my eyes, and they are constantly missing primary alternate jerseys (so not one game specials) for CHL and AHL teams. No matter what you’re passionate about (gameplay, franchise, jerseys) the new-gen of NHL games has found a way to disappoint.
I will give them props to the editor, as it’s way better than ever before, but there’s jersey styles you can create that don’t have matching socks lol. Do what 2k did and just give us every NHL team’s jersey template (so 62 + your custom ones now) and let us color literally every stripe of it.
It makes no sense as to why one color zone, especially on a jersey with less color zones than others, dictates two stripes on the arm, waist, and the shoulder color! Why do you do that? It’s just maddening as someone who loves to create (I run a fully fictional OHL and Q so 38 teams) to see blatant opportunities for different color zones combined into one.
Also, I’d love to see the CAT limit upped to 60 so I can run a fully customized CHL
Heck, the NHL just celebrated 100 years and got no patch on the uniforms in the game for that.
Still, it is a perfect example of how this product is. They have an auction house that doesn't update. You're perfectly fine putting a D on the wing, or the other way around. Players are having synergies that make no sense regarding their play-style...
Whenever you get tired of this stupidity, you will find that normal Vs have a huge bug in matchmaking effectively blocking you from finding an opponent.
And then your game start....
