HUT - their biggest game mode and has the worst connection issues and inconsistencies. One game my players skate normal, can pick the puck up, etc. next game they’ll be blind men skating in quick sand.

EASHL - Enjoyable in 3’s only, 6’s turned into a major cluster this year. 3’s is only fun for a bit, you get to D1 and all of a sudden your ai turns into hot garbage. Will skate directly into the other team when they have the puck, last game a guy was coming into the zone and our ai just completely stopped skating and let him walk around him. The goalies are the biggest cancer in the world. Like seriously the game has been out on new gen systems since 15 and I haven’t seen a single step of progress at all.

Offline - Boring. Flat out it’s boring. BAP has been the same stale boring garbage for the past 9 years. Make some changes that will actually hook people in, not the same copy and paste setup you’ve been doing since it’s been introduced. Franchise, ehhh, that’s it, nothing special, the fact that I have to go look up the best sliders to run is a little ridiculous, the game should be made correctly in the first place. Even FIFA has a better offline setup with just being able to bring your BAP into a regular franchise and play as the whole team and have him be apart of it, and I absolutely hate soccer and I play that garbage more than this. Like do something like that and have the challenges that will add attributes to our guy...do something, this same nonsense of being locked to one player and playing with a team full of atrocious ai makes BAP corny.

  • Ew, 3s is the worst, even worse with ai

6's is only fun if connection is good, if you have any latency or input delay it makes TPS impossible to navigate effectively, you can't skate thru or skate to create space from defenders, the ice gets real small real quick and you end up turning the puck over.

This game is way too reliant on connection because of the TPS mechanics.
  • I recently bought this game as I was tired of other games and it is a joke. The gameplay is worse than NBA 2k18 and if any of you have played that, you know how garbage that is

Both of these games, NHL 18 and NBA 2k18 are the worst games from each of their respective series in several years. Both games have been declining more and more every year. Corporate greed has ruined sports gaming.

Yep. Online games like HUT and Diamond Dynasty ruined sports games as it’s clear all the resources and time go into these modes while core gameplay becomes stale, broken, and ignored. Its been over 2 years since I’ve been able to do and enjoy an offline season, EASHL is awful this year, and HUT is a random hot pile of garbage cash grab.

With a game like NBA, they have made their focus clear that all they care about is developing their esports league. And that is why nothing else gets any attention.

While HUT, MyTeam, and diamond dynasty are all the main money grabs, EA doesn’t really have any “big project” persay that they are working on like 2k has with esports. So really not only is ea not tending to their things unjustified, but it’s unexplained as a whole
  • Only play off line & I've enjoyed it for the most part ... Gets a little boring at times , but the 4 min. periods help.

Until they Clean House on the Dev Side and the Marketing Side, this Series is a slow Titanic Sinking Ship. Without hitting a iceberg ( seeing my player can’t hit a pass or receive one seeing they would rather skate circles around the puck)

Yep. This happened to me last night a few times, almost costing me a few goals.

It would have been easy to spot if they did proper test sessions. I just can't understand how this was ignored yet they went "Game is done. This is ready to be sold." It's simply not realistic to see a hockey player's turning range limited this much, even when both skates are on the ice going less than 5mph. Am I playing a hockey game or a semi-truck simulator?

They need to turn the agility, speed, puck awareness way up for NHL 19. What we have now is not even close to being realistic.

  • Why is 6s a "cluster" ?

What this suggests to me is that you and the people you play with use your Left Stick way too much. Think of skating more like skate boarding than running. Push Push Glide.

"Eashl still feels more like bumper cars sometimes than hockey. "

That is TPS at work, as I mentioned above in a post, if you don't have an optimal connection, any latency and TPS is like driving a fully loaded dump truck on ice, that's how it feels to skate. Hard to get moving, once moving hard to turn and change directions, etc.

Not everyone has this problem but then again a great many of people do, so I'm sure some won't understand what I'm talking about, if you are in the group and don't have this issue just be happy you don't and let us who do fight for a solution or even support our fight for a solution.

Even with the best connection TPS is still a problem, and ten-fold when you don't have the puck. It is a nightmare to stay in position defensively, and even harder when you need to reposition quickly to defend.

most puck carriers just hold their sticks out to their side and actually wait for the defender to deke himself out of the play. All he has to do is wait there and the D can't compensate. It is that ridiculous.

I’ve often had the same thought when playing 6s (depending on the skill levels involved and connection) over the past couple of years. It almost feels like the ice surface is too small and you just don’t have enough room.

    Agree 100%

The scale/size of players/ice/rink is no different from NHL 09-12 than NHL 18, yet back then there was plenty of open ice, you didn't feel like you ran out of space, etc. It was because the skating was extremely responsive so you could skate around, navigate a defense, open up ice, etc. Since TPS the ice/rink feels small, no space to operate, defense smothers you instantly in the offensive zone, nowhere to skate or go, etc.

The "community ruined eashl. They're plan was to make lg and vg bigger. The split the community now it takes 45 min to find a game. Bring back eashl builds. Bring back fair match making and for the love of God get rid of these leagues so eashl can be popular again

A simple symptom of players handling like timbit hockey players instead of nhl players. being stuck in mud all the time makes it slow to do any sort of fakes so the player charging with momentum always has advantage

Absolutely yes. This is part of the reason why I think going down a man with a power play can actually benefit you. I've been seeing a lot of shorthanded goals this year.

Jesus Christ tps isn't perfect but it isn't that bad, it's not to blame for every problem. In fact I don't have hardly any issues with it when playing offline with real nhl players. There lots of little problems and broken mechanics in this game that have nothing to do with tps. The problem bunny is talking about is not tps it's ever since latest gen came out the game is literally like bumper cars. Every bit of contact is greatly exaggerated, almost any contact causes you to lose the puck. Plus this game rewards over aggressive play way more than it should. So everyone is always attacking. Plus the physics are kind of wonky. So good games of 6s can often be a bumper car, turnover fest like experience.
