Position Picking Before Drop In?

It’s gotten better now you can choose F D or G
but why on earth wouldn’t they let people choose LW RW C LD RD ? Is this why 2/3 Games don’t start because everyone backs out?

No it's because the majority of the players are morons

The player base is small enough as it is. Add in a dash of moron and voila! Game dropped.

If you can play LW you can play RW. If you could play LD you can play RD.

    At the most make it C, W, D, G.
  • I’d rather have a game drop ...than players just picking a spot they don’t know how to play just to get a game started.
Which happened before the new setup.
So many times I heard...”I’ve never played goalie before...I’ll give it a try”...
    Ya....this should be fun.

On the flip side there's the guy who can play goal and switches over to get the game rolling. I try not to take drop ins too seriously. It's gonna be a mix of all skill levels. I feel EA should loosen it up.

It just doesn't work very well the way it is now, and it makes finding a game just that much more difficult. Why do you need to commit to a position even before you know how many players and in which position show up? It's just stupid, just a very poor decision to make it like that.

Besides, even if there are people always going for the goalie, it's no guarantee they're any good in it. And then you have players who are at least passably good at any position and could fill in the missing goalie. But they're already committed to d-man or something. So people back out to try again, rince and repeat. Sometimes you spend more time trying to find a game than actually playing.

The system is fine, it's sometimes hard to find a game because people are morons... Or trolls.
  • I like the system but I would prefer to allow a bit at the end. Maybe another 10-15 seconds before player type selection to move to an open position. As mentioned above that might get someone to jump in goal or somewhere if needed. I think so many games drop because of missing goalie on one team. But I could also be out in left field without a glove.

Somebody I play with suggested you pick position and min players per side. So I could pick F and 6v6 and the lobby would stay open until a full 6v6 is found. They could do like other games and merge lobbies if needed. Interesting but may not work with the small community.
