Hey. Here's a Tip
When forwards go to the dirty area, aka in front of my goalie, would be nice if iono, could use my strength if I pick defensive D or enfrocer D to ensure two things:
1. Man handle them/ box them out so they cant pick up a juicy rebound from a weak pathetic shot
2. Hinder them from receiving a cross crease pass, or deflection
This would lead to an interesting little meta to the game. As it stands right now, any little build can stand anywhere in the offensive zone and not worry about a thing.
Every Dman knows the only build worth picking is a two-way Dman.
Anywho. Just another great suggestion that would create an interesting dynamic and actually spring forth variety in builds

The extended stick lifts and the body tie ups are useful. But the time it takes to engage the animation and the length the animation lasts renders them almost useless. You can hold X/A for a few seconds while standing next to a guy before it actually engages. Holding Y/Triangle is the same. You get a split second of jostling before you can shove the guy a foot. You need really good timing/awareness of the developing play to pull it off successfully for an entire game. But it is still a very useful tool. EASHL connection variance is the biggest hindrance to this from what I've experienced.
EDIT You also need a forward standing completely still for it to engage quickly
IMO, I would like a jostling mechanic similar to when I played fifa where you could go shoulder to shoulder with a player and engage them body wise for positioning. It would be most useful when you are skating side by side with a forward to a lose puck. As a TWD/DD it would be cool to be able to engage the body vs a forward a few feet before the puck and try to muscle them off to ensure you get to the puck first. We see this in real hockey all the time. Larger players throwing a shoulder and boxing out a player to get to a lose puck along the boards first.
Yea two-way is in fact a very decent build for how this game plays. Defensive D is interesting at times and Enforcer I use now and then when I want to horse around in dropins.
The stick tie-up (X button) actually works half decently except for the times when it takes too long to initiate. Holding it too long gives a penalty. For the most part, I think it does work pretty decently. Needs to be polished a bit, especially the trigger to initiate it.
