GM Connected in 19 or not?

We can't seem to find any sort of confirmation if GM connected will be in NHL 19 or not.

We all skipped 18 and most of us have skipped every year since it was taken out.

We are all wondering if it's going to be in or not so we can go back to ignoring all EA NHL news if not.

100% Not in the game. Yes we know it's a travesty and highly sought to be brought back but it's not happening this year. Better they get it completely right than to have the mess it was before.
  • As much as we complained at the time about some of it's shortcomings, we absolutely loved it even just the way it was. We played through 5-8 years in 13 & 14 with very active leagues. Had big plans for it when they pulled the plug in 15. Had we have known EA would not expand and improve on it, we would have shut our mouths about any complaints!

Can totally understand why less hardcore fans got a taste of it with the awfully slow load times. If it weren't for our core group, it would have been tough to run successful progressing leagues with the tools EA provided.

Did you see anywhere that it was published that it won't be returning again for 19?

  • I want the mode back super badly too, but if I had to pick between online franchise and a new (hopefully vastly better) skating engine, even I would pick the skating engine.
  • I didn't buy the game last year bc of no GMC, same with NHL 15. I have delusions of the NHL team doing a solid for the community and extending an olive branch to change their image amongst the fanbase by adding in GMC as an update at somepoint during the year. Obviously that will never happen.
  • Also the 2 things I wanted most were a skating engine change (TPS was gamebreaking) and GMC. Its a shame in 5 years only one of those have been addressed. Its also a shame that every year (even last year) TPS was defended by EA on social media and forums alike, just as their decision to put in modes like mascots and 3s over GMC is defended.

If it weren't 5 straight years of them progressively making the game play worse and worse, while adding countless unrequested gimmick game modes, it would be easier to accept your point as valid. They made this game the terrible product it is today on their own. Slap a new name on a skating system that works, and you're happy? I guess I have much higher expectations, especially from a company that already had a playable product on last gen.

It is becoming clear that an online franchise manager, the only thing most users wanted since day 1, is simply not the direction they want to take this series for whatever reason. I don't believe it is a limitation of time or developer resources. I think if they could go back, they would have never given GMC to the fans in the first place as there is clearly something else going on here. The easiest answer would be that if you like building teams against real opponents, your only option for the last 5 years is HUT pay-to-play.

That's 10 of us that again will not be buying this game.

I do too. And unless you haven't seen any new trailers, it's blatantly obvious they didn't just "slap a new name on" TPS.
