NHL 19 music

Replies

  • I recognize Greta Van Fleet, Imagine Dragons, Tom Morello, The Struts and Twenty One Pilots. I wouldn't call myself a fan of any of them, but it's cool to see Greta Van Fleet get on another game. They were on MLB The Show. They're pretty good. It's just background music anyway, so not going to lose my mind over it.

Is Greta the band that sounds exactly like Led Zeppelin?

Also, why can't they add more than 10 songs into a game. Gets so repetitive so quickly. Bands would pay money to give you their song in a game.
  • Whaaaat?! The MGK dissing Eminem track didn’t make it???
  • Can a MOD chime in about custom music ever coming back? This list, quite frankly, sucks!
  • be happy that this game has a soundtrack, haven't had one since NHL14..............

17 and 18 have soundtracks. I don't care for the song selection either and just want custom music back.

    Have you seen the guys who play in the Madden tournaments who have a pair of ear buds as well as over-the-ear headphones? That always struck me as silly. {EA_Lanna: edited out derailment}

Personally I don't care if they add 50 songs as it probably would equal to 50 songs I would hate.

Song selection is soooo bad and illogical. Great job EA. Is it that hard to have a song from every style?

Honestly I get where you guys are coming from on this, I've rarely used in-game soundtracks on games in the past few years. I think that is more down to my own taste to be fair. I use the Spotify app on PlayStation and listen to my own playlists while I'm playing, I know it's not ideal but it's the best option I found for my games. From what I remember you should be able to do the same on Xbox.

I get the whole we all have different tastes, and I totally agree. What I don't get is putting music that seems to have nothing to do with hockey or played in any arena..... Why not put some Adelle, you know, cause she sells tons of records... Know what I mean?

Rammer has confirmed that generic music is out and songs are back for NHL 19. Any chance we can get some info on the song selection?

Does he mean goal songs are back in?.

No he was referring to menu music.

I imagine it has to do with licensing. Then again, they got 21 Pilots which are one of the biggest bands in the world currently. Still, licensing plays a huge role in what they can use.

Yes. I personally have liked their stuff, but they do sound like LZ. But then again, what's the difference between them sounding like LZ and rap sound similar? haha

I actually have enjoyed the soundtrack. I do with there were more songs, but it's not a huge deal, as I mentioned in my OP.

I dont know how many are in this video, I would rather have organ music in the menus and game instead of the bands they picked..have not listened to them yet but I read your comments on them.Remember NHL96's menu music? that was great!,do that EA.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVc7P37W0-0
  • I mean in at least Spotify is an option if you don't enjoy the NHL 19 soundtrack, it's a better alternative than just complaining about the soundtrack and doing nothing about it..

FYI, I cleaned up this thread and moved posts about “Goal songs” to the goal songs thread https://forums.ea.com/en/nhl/discussion/228030/wheres-the-goal-songs#latest
This thread is about the soundtrack.

So your solution is to pay for a monthly service that buries any and all sound during play. Sure, it's a solution, but not an ideal one.

This is my approach to it and it's not ideal alright. I didn't specifically pay the subscription for that reason either, I already had it. It's just a tip for those who have it.

Also makes me wonder how many are complaining about having a bad connection to the servers and are streaming music, or whatever else...
