General Gameplay: AI. Number one. Is your team still brain dead and useless? Does your team still let them just walk right in without even attempting a pokecheck? Does the enemy AI still insta-grab the puck from you? Do your team mates still get in the way?
Icings: Do these actually happen now? Because in 2018 the ref seemed to ignore 90% of the opponent AI's icing...
Penalties: Are they actually proper now? Do you still get a boarding call for checking someone in the shoulders against the boards? Do you still get cross checking calls even though you went through the perfect motions for a clean hit? More towards Ice tilting.
Skating: Is the skating ACTUALLY better? Or does it just look nicer? I want to know how responsive it actually is. Am I going to pull the stick in the opposite direction and have my player actually change directions, or will they continue to just spin around in a random direction to face the other way. Usually putting the puck right in front of the opposing defense men.
Hitting: Does a player you completely lay out still get up and regain the puck faster than your team?
Puck Recovery: Does the AI still completely ignore loose pucks? Or will they actually hustle to a loose puck now?
GM Mode: Scouting: Can you actually find and develop prospects now. I'd get "high" prospects all the time in 2018 and none of them panned out. Eventually just traded my first round picks for other teams drafted prospects.
Match simming and injuries: Do you still have an injury ever 4-5 games you sim if you don't turn injuries off? I like to play matches with it on, but then have to switch it off for simming. Super annoying.
Ice Tilt: Does your team still fall apart at odd times? Like when you're game 4 of the playoffs and you're about to sweep the opponents and suddenly your team no longer skates, or passes, and your goalie lets in every other soft goal. And suddenly your teams getting a pile of penalties. And THEIR goalie suddenly becomes a brick wall? I don't mind if 1 or two of those suddenly happen, as that's realistic. But if I crap all over a team all season long, and suddenly my team can't play the playoffs...
Trades: Does a players past seasons stats matter now? I know I can have a player have a 80+ point season and it doesn't increase their trade value at all.
Be a pro:
Team mates AI: Does your team do anything now? 2018 your defense wouldn't cover their man, resulted in a goal, and you all shared "bad line defense" because apparently it's cool to blame the entire line over one mans error. Do they still spin around at the net, putting the puck in your own goal? Does the goalie now watch the puck when it's on a friendly AI's stick so aforementioned previous goal won't happen?
Passing: Do they still fail to pass when you call for it, hesitate, and then try to pass a few seconds later when they're covered? Netting you a beautiful "bad call for a pass". Or completely fail to chip it off the boards or saucer it when there's someone in between you?
Defense XP: Is there better bonuses for defense? Like clearing the zone, hemming them in their zone. Keeping the puck in at the line etc. Does your whole team get credit for clearing the zone on a PK now? Or is it still just whoever clears it? I mean, we all get penalized, we might as well all get rewarded for a successful PK.
Fighting: Can I choose not to fight yet? Best point producer in the league, forced to bust my hands and face up in a fist fight because of a nice hit... makes sense...
