What I noticed after playing all day yesterday (critique)

Back ground info: Been playing Nhl like most of us since Nhl09. Been a full-time Dman that does dabble in playing center quite a bit. The best version was NHL 11 where me and my top club lived in our rooms playing all day.

Having said that, I am enjoying this year's version of the game. I don't know why, actually i do know why people are complaining about the poke, I see a lot of bad -positioned players trying to poke, or they simply mistime their poke when a player does a hockey play (I.e. stick handle, Deke, spin)

I absolutely love the fact forechecking forwards continue to spaz that poke button, because in years past, us Dmen were at the mercy of forwards being all over us when we would recover a puck in the defensive zone.

Playing defence is extremely fun and extremely rewarding.

Another thing that jumps out are the hitting collisons. Man I have seen some awesome looking hits and the sounds and everything about them are so satisfying. Especially in online vs.

There are some serious issues with wait time in drop in and it's very hard just to even get a 5 on 5 game going.

Personally speaking, I hate the outdoor rink and clothes. I miss the nhl vibe with jerseys and stadiums.

Joining a club is just not that easy. It's not. I am a full time college student and anyone who has taken BIOLOGY knows you HAVE to study. So I will never commit to a time with friends to just play.

Anyways. Thanks for the game. Thanks for reading

This. This. This. 100% could not agree more. This quote should be placed on a plaque at EA headquarters.
  • I believe the gameplay is far and away the best it has been on this generation of consoles. I agree whole-heartedly with the physical play, the collisions are way more realistic. Big hits are truly that, and that makes them so much more rewarding, as the improved player control makes them harder to pull off than in years past.

As an aside, I play with a small group of guys, we all have full time jobs and can only play a couple times a week, so if you're looking to catch on with a club on XB1, would love to even get to a five-man team...currently just 3, lol.
  • Yea I'm on Xbox One @BlackhawkBud
