I am a pro offline gamer and as mad as i am about the legends thing i must say the pokecheck is way more realistic. You have to rely on your own judgement. Timing. And skill. If you see the puck poke. Otherwise just like real life its stick infraction. The people who chronically complain are likely hut or mainly online and fall into the category of "winners win. Losers look for excuses" i know im the bad guy here but its likely very close to truth. Ps i suck at game but i love realism of offline. And no belly aching from the AI

I'll join you there. As I quite enjoy the changes to pokes. And forcing a new meta to how we play the game online. Plus I'm super glad they're sticking to their guns by posting a link reiterating the "Poke Statement" from the beta, and the Video released yesterday
  • The main problem I have with the poke this year is when racing to a loose puck against an opponent, if you poke at the loose puck, even if your opponent isn't in front of you, it still results in tripping penalties over and over again, ridiculous!
  • I digress. Its timing main. Now once again if your online. Dont even get me started about online. The slightest delay could cause that. Ive never understood why the online community in all video games complains so much. There will always be lag even if in the smallest of fractions and any game will suffer. But us gamers in the offline community never worry about that. We enjoy realism which online will never achieve.

MOST, and i want to emphasize that part, understand that. Many still do not too. Lag will always be there and can only be improved but never eliminated. Most people complain because they want to play their game. And if they cant it's the games fault.

But I can tell you, online is where it's at. I'm a firm believer that EA's NHL is at its best when played 6v6 online. There's nothing better for me. 6 of us, chewing the cud (God I'm old) all night while playing other clubs. When the clubs firing on all cylinders, making passes and setting up beautiful goals, man there's nothing better. That's why I can never go back to playing offline modes.
  • Fair enough. And to be real i do get tempted and yes in hut play odd game and get beat bad lol. But i try to finish and do better. Im 49 been gaming all my life. Beating these young bucks online isnt gonba happen. But i love offline challenge and the nostalgic atmosohere. I normally do my own leagues so i can use all teams.
