Cmon everyone let’s take a deep breath. No need to get worked up over a dang video game. Ea hears the concerns and I’m sure are working to fix them. At the end of the day we all share a passion for hockey.
If you have these kinds of problems on launch, and you work around the clock to fix them, letting your players know that they're concerned and trying to get it right, then we probably wouldn't be so vocal. However, on Friday, it will be two weeks since release.
Can you point me to anything from EA telling us what's going on and when we might see any kind of a fix?
This means that we are doing everything in our power to get this resolved as quickly as possible, as soon as we have an update we will post it. We are fully aware of the growing frustration this is causing in the community.

Well i've been waiting for years for fixes to alot of problems mentioned in this forum and still waiting. The only thing that has kept me playing is my passion for hockey but even that isn't enough to keep me playing anymore.

If you take your car to the shop and the mechanic tells you it will be done on Friday, but then calls to let you know they found something else that was wrong and you have to wait until Monday, will you buy a new car?
Sorry, I'm really bad at car analogies but I figured I try....
I'm assuming EA is not updating because they are worried that there would be even more backlash from the community if they state every day that they haven't figured out what causing the problems.
I am highly doubting that they are not updating everyone because they don't care about the matchmaking issues.
Honestly though. Other than the skating mechanics. What's really better? Be a Pro is a joke. With no time to do anything with the puck, what's the fun in one touching it to an AI only to have him lose the puck every time? Eashl. No need to rehash that. Franchise? It's hard to even compete at all star. I've played all star since it was an option without ever having trouble at least competing. Tripping is brutal. Yes I get that it was being spammed but I saved a clip where I was about 3 feet away from any body part and he fell and got a penalty. 3s are just a smash fest with very little hockey being played. HUT is a money grab plain and simple. Again I can't even compete this year. Drop ins even if it worked is absolutely soulless and drab. Goalie rebounds are ridiculous. I can go on and on. And before you all line up to say "learn 2 play, etc..." I've been playing the franchise for over 20 years. I know how to play. I've played competitively.
How is HUT a money grab when you don't even need to spend money on it? They have made it easier to get a good team without spending anything extra year after year.

This is a HUGE problem and one that probably should have caused this game to be delayed for a few weeks if it wasn’t fixed for launch. This game is worse than when NHL 15 came to new gen and you guys basically released the worst NHL game in EA’s history just so you could say you had a game on PS4/Xbox1. That game didn’t even have EASHL at launch, you might as well have done the same thing here because it’s near impossible to get in a game as it sits right now anyways.

So this game is worse than the worst NHL game in history? Hmmm...
It is frustrating for sure, but it is quite simple at this point really. Either you sit there and wait, or get rid of the game. What else can you do?? I can assure you attacking an EA employee will not accelerate anything at all.
I've been able to get connection in WOC over the last few days, I was frustrated with it, but I've got into Be A Pro and so far having fun with it. I feel these games come out way to early now, which is why you're starting to see a lot of issues at launch, I'm mainly talking about sports games. These games used to come out in October, they really should go back to it. In my opinion.
A lot of people are complaining about NBA Live right now, and the devs went in and some what ruined the game play from that was fine launch (minus some issues). As fans of the game, for me anyways, just send concerns or whatever, so that the games can be better in October when the seasons start. All this having the devs overhaul things is going to break the game leading to more frustration.
Sigh it seems like every year online gameplay for any sports game is taking a huge step back because because are trying to get to fancy before they have stablished a strong base to work from
That being said if they can fix the issues with matchmaking then this game will be the best NHL since 14
I don't think anyone is attacking any of the employees. The fact is that we are all people who spend our hard-earned money on a product that is completely unacceptable. There are SO many issues with this game that it seems like the NHL is an afterthought compared to the real money-makers of NFL etc. I highly doubt that NFL 19 was released with so many issues.
It's hard to be patient when there are so many problems and the fact that the developers aren't acknowledging a lot of the complaints on here. In mid September I posted a thread with 12 issues that I had just off the top of my head and haven't heard a peep from any developer. So it does seem like EA is not acknowledging their customers, hence the frustration. If they simply replied that they're working on these issues and that they will be fixed soon for NHL 19 I think there would be a lot more patience here. Ignoring us is not helping.
If I were a developer, I would post a thread listing each aspect the team was working on and an expected date of completion. We may not like having to wait, but at least it would be something to help us customers with our frustration.
well put buddy. we cant even play a eashl game because someone gets dropped in every search we do. every thing is correct you said..........this is a beta not a real game

There have been several highly inappropriate posts removed from here already. I'm struggling to keep this open as the posts are less and less constructive however I want a topic for players to share their beefs with the game. If things keep on going this way we will be forced to close it.
There are certain points I want to touch base with you on here. Honestly out of all gaming communities this is one of the forums that has some of the most dev presence I've seen, that goes for EA or other gaming communities.
We have an amazing dev in the form of Ben Ross who has posted near 800 posts and discusses NHL gameplay with forum members more than any dev. On top of that if he notices a thread outside of his own domain that should be brought to the intention of his team, he flags it with the dedicated teams.
We also have several other devs that post sporadically across the forums who recently touched base on a massive big sore point for the WoC drop-in community. Also one of the most passionate community managers I've met in a while in the form of Tyler Horsfall. He used to be a Game Changer which shows how passionate he is about the game itself and now posts as a community manager on Reddit, Twitter & the forums while working closely with our Game Changers & studio.
If I were a developer, I would post a thread listing each aspect the team was working on and an expected date of completion.
Any developer who would do this wouldn't be a dev for long and would have legal teams breathing down his neck in the blink of an eye.

I think what most of us want is THIS Stickied onto this board. Listed Bugs, their priority and status. There's so many outlets, almost too many outlets to check for stuff. Sometimes things are posted to facebook first. Sometimes twitter first. Sometimes here first. Help.EA is a chore to get to/navigate whereas people might be more familiar with forums in general, however outdated they may be.
EDIT- I totally understand not committing to a timetable on bug fixes. That's seriously asking for trouble and setting any developer up for hard backlash.
Also shout out to Tyler Horsfall on twitter. Guy is very active and responsive to people and I have come to scroll his feed daily. Again, too many outlets to check for responses/updates sometimes

I'll pass on this feedback to him @RayFinkle1515 , these posts mean a lot to people as passionate as him. I agree that Help.EA.com isn't necessary the first place you'd go for some issues. I've added the article to this topic: NHL 19 - Tech help articles for now as I have a lot topics pinned there already. I'll probably create a sperate post if it does get enough visibility. Thanks for the feedback.
This situation is unacceptable. Matchmaking is the tip of the iceberg as far as the problems are with this release. Delay the game if you can't commit to a decent release. We are paying triple A price here. We deserve triple A quality. Not some half finished alpha release.

I understand not being able to provide a set date for things but maybe giving a list of the order that things are being worked on. I'm honestly trying to help keep this progressing in a way that helps fix the game as all I think any of us want is a game that crosses all the T's and dots all the I's.
Here's my post in the other thread that I haven't heard anything back about:
Okay, so I've been playing these NHL games for a very long time and I've never posted anything but I feel compelled to this year.
EA makes changes during the year to the game so I'm really hoping some of us can rally to get some things altered now instead of being okay with waiting for another whole year for some of the features to be changed.
1. Font size....okay seriously, I wear glasses and even with them on I find some of the screens (ie salaries in trades etc) to be ridiculously small. Please increase the size!
2. The RED that highlights the players inside the trade options has always been hard on the eyes. Some people actually cannot see the color red on screens (just red for some reason). Please change to an easier to see color.
3. What happened to the option to start a franchise at the NHL draft??? I feel like this has been asked for for a number of years and no response. It would be nice to be able to undo or redo the draft based on the players ideas. Afterall, we are supposed to be the GM are we not? Please bring back the option to do the NHL draft without having to start a 32 team expansion.
4. When oh when are we going to see the U.S. leagues and players added to the game? It would be nice to be able to find and alter players in the U.S. development leagues since you can do so with all other leagues.
5. Missing players.....Rick Nash has not officially retired and is not in the game, but Iginla has retired and is in the game. There are players (ie Micky Dupont) who haven't played in 10 years still showing up, so why pick and choose actual NHL players to leave out?
6. Have the player control WHICH PLAYER(s) is/are sent down to the minors when a trade is made instead of automatically having the game do this for you. I've always selected the assistant GM has no control and yet this still happens sometimes when I make a trade. After the trade is made, the player should be taken to the roster screen to fix the roster changes themselves and alter lines before a player is automatically chosen, seemingly at random.
7. Trading.....I do not want trades to be simple on EVERY setting. But EASY should be EASY. It is almost impossible to get the computer to withhold salary on a player (despite sometimes doubling their value). This should be the case on the more difficult settings but not on EASY mode. EASY should be based on trade value, MEDIUM should be based on trade value and team desires, HARD should be very difficult to make deals. It should still be up to the user to determine how difficult they want the trading to be.
8. On the topic of trading, the computer should make counter-offers of what they might consider based on your initial offer. It should be more of a discussion than a yes or no thing. Ie, when offering a player and a 3rd round pick for a player on another team, the opposing GM could respond with a counter-offer of the same player but substituting the 3rd round pick for a 2nd or 1st to make the deal work.
9. Possibility of finding out a player's "ask" for their new contract prior to trading for them. This happens in real life discussions between GMs so should be part of the GM option in the game.
10. A guide to show a player's trade value in the "edit player option". So as you edit the player you can watch the trade value increase/decrease. This helps the user not over or under-inflate the player based on your own opinion of where the player should be.
11. In the free agents list. It should show the list of teams the player is interested in joining, not just the teams that have approached the player.
12. This last one I'll admit may need to be for NHL 20, but think about adding in the no-trade lists etc for players. So that a player will submit a list of teams they'll accept a trade to if they have this in their clause. The list should be visible when trying to trade for a player.
13. There is a serious glitch that happens during fights in the Be A Player mode.
I think there should be a focus on that instead of on gimmicks like we have seen in most of the games in the past 10 years.
I'm curious what you will have to say in regards to these ideas.
4. When oh when are we going to see the U.S. leagues and players added to the game? It would be nice to be able to find and alter players in the U.S. development leagues since you can do so with all other leagues.
NCAA rules prohibits players from partaking into commercial activities within the league's image/tenure.
So, we finally got the ability to apply our club logo to the front of the jersey from a loot bag. It only took over 50 club games!!!! Come on EA.... this should be available right at the start. Like the old saying goes... you play for the crest on the front and not the name on the back.
