that totally makes no sense, spend money to become a good team??? That don't make you a good player and that's my point
Better cards doesn't guarantee a win. It's amusing when people think they should win just because they have a more stacked team, then proceed to claim they were ea'd when they lose, just because they took more low scoring chance shots with higher rated shooters.
My best player is only 86ovr, and lowest is an 84. You don't need a better team to win, only better skill.
Who says like this ? I don’t. If you play vs yourself or a player with the same level, the higher rated cards makes the diffrence. A better player can win easily vs a player with higher rated cards. For me personal a card collectors mode with fixed ratings without NHL format is not what I want to play.
Of course, in a perfect world, both sides equal, better cards will tilt the match. But on what planet do you live on, where players of identical skill match up?
As for who says that? Had someone say that to me just a few days ago lol. And not to mention posts on the forum about how better cards don't mean anything, or that they can't compete against stacked teams etc.
Besides, aren't you a self proclaimed offline only player? Why are you even talking about an online mode?
As I wrote clearly posts before that some better players will win also with lower rated card players. Maybe overseen ? Sure I am proclaimed as an offline player. I tried this mode only some weeks after release of issue 18 during a waiting span for a good roster update. Would like that you stop your personal agressive, childish tone against me. We can speak and discuss like upgrown persons.

Not only that, how many people here are complaining that an 84 overall is catching up to their 99 overall players on breakaways? Does not seem like such a huge advantage to have expensive cards according to the posts I see here.
Idk, I can only go on my own experience but higher rated cards make a world of difference in terms of control. I'm a f2p hut user and my overall team is 84-86. When I added gold mcdavid, Crosby and ovi to my first line I found their cards are much better to that of say Seguin, Stamkos, and Malkin.
When I play against 90+ rated teams I know I have to play more defense oriented because their cards are faster and more likely to win puck battles. But I've found these players like to play loose defense and go for hits so passing the puck carves these guys up.
They also like to only straight line for 1 timers and go to the slot so it because very easy to shut down and limit opportunities. They are entitled to wins because of their super team but lack the control skills to win.
I always felt skill is about 90%, team is 5% and latency is the other 5. Since dedicated servers I'd say its 10% team matters. The good players will win more times then not regardless of their cards. Higher overalls do make it easier to play tho imo.

What personal, aggressive, childish tone are you referring to? I never once used a personal, aggressive tone. Childish? Naw, didn't use that either. But, I don't sugar coat my words, so maybe I can come off as a bit brash.
But this isn't kumbaya happy hour, so I don't feel I need to talk to presumably other adults, as if they were hyper emotional children. So maybe lose the victim complex, and you won't assume a preconceived tone?
Back to the thread topic. Either way, the current tuner is great, but needs only very minor adjustments. Nothing major. At least as far as skaters go. Slight reduction in stick lift ability, and maybe turn the incidental contact down a notch (it's pretty good as is). But otherwise, the game feels good, as long as it's not a bad latency game.

The Tuner was great from the beginning after the release. I never had a problem and used Tuner 1.0 since the beginning of the release. Only adjusting the penalty sliders lower. Gameplay is one thing, but as I have seen that you studied my posts you know that I am not satisfied with this less statistics in the game. The same as for many missing graphic details. Gameplay would give a rating 9 from 10, rest of the game 3 from 10. A bit better gameplay will be no reason to buy 20. Other things mainly important for me.
Should include the last 5 game split statistics vs each Team the player played, including Trades for whom be traded, Cup Rings .....
All named by Team name not NHL or AHL. This game is based on statistics.
This game is a joke. Time and time again you make a big hit on the boards and the guy still ends up with the puck. How can someone be up 3-0 with 10 min left and in 3 min left it's 4-3 for the other team. Every damn shot goes in. I would have been better off pulling my goalie and hoping they just miss the net!

Happens a lot in 19 ,? Did your opponent have a team full of 85's that were super juiced
A few frustrating issues I've been having. Goals that actually don't go in the net. It's frustrating to have a puck hit the crossbar, go over the net and bounce on the ice, and be ruled a goal. Or bounce off the bar straight away toward center ice and be a goal. Also, when a player is 6 feet offsides and gets that breakaway goal anyway. And it seems boarding is being allowed as well. On the plus side, my goalie isn't diving 16 feet outside the crease anymore.
I really enjoyed the refreshing feel of NHL 15 when it came out on BOX ONE (demo)..thought ok,this feels nice...but DEMO'S) are just to sucker you in as this year obviously was. Look how they always send tuners out to dumb all the good stuff down. They should just do it right..like NHL Genesis days. You build the game...you test it..you make it playable..and leave it alone!
I find it amazing how a guy who knew nothing about hockey...a football guy learned hockey on the fly and it ended up being the best hockey release ever...NHL 94.

How about defining what you call "all the good stuff dumbed down" ??
Still agree that this game is complete garbage. The more i play the more upset i am with it, id rather go back to blades of steel on Nintendo, atleast its more of a fair game and you dont have a bunch of Gold Common players skating as fast as your 99 skater. I see someone mentioned low ranked players that are juiced? You can only juice them so much to skate so fast and there is no way a guy with even an 85 skating should catch up to my 99 skater. Ive had a team of gold common players whoopp my **** somehow and its not even realistic. You all talk about the graphics and physics and stick lifts and board checks and all that jazz, well how about EA figure out that adding Burner, Breakout Master and speed still dont make a skater super speed like they are. Make this Garbage game equal to the statistics that they show and not what you feel they should be. No way on gods green earth should a gold common player ( i dont care what synergies you got) beable to play as good as any gold player over 80. Theres a reason ( i thought ) they have base players and better players. Its complete garbage and anyone that dont think so obviously needs to look at more then just skill. Goalies arent skill when theyre run by the AI so you figure it out. And also, EVERY SINGLE ONETIMER GOES IN FOR SOME??? AS IF!!! BIG WASTE of time and money for all if you ask me
This game is in the state it is in right now mostly because of the people that play it. The hardcore people who play everyday and in leagues etc. will always find ways to exploit the game resulting in unrealistic and mostly not fun gameplay when comparing to actual hockey because these people will do whatever it takes to win the game, its just the competitive nature of it and it happens in all games.
When referring to the LT nonsense in all this which is part of the current meta, I still feel that if we had better control of our sticks(right analog stick) with the puck like no auto deke animation triggers and a much better deke success rate that you would not see that as much and in terms of realistic I would much rather see a guy try to deke through a trap or defender then watch him LT spam.
Its been mentioned so much but rebounds, tips/deflections is just way too effective in current gen and especially the past few years. Yes this happens in real life and should somewhat stay in the game but there needs to be a manual action to the tip its just way too effective and rebounds are one of the main tools for scoring right now rather than making a nice play because it too is also way too effective. Goalies need to be able to redirect these faster and wider or just simply gobble them up easier.
People play this way mostly because its the best way to play to get results and win with the least amount of effort and knowledge, force sauce passes up the ice to guys leaking, shoot turd shots looking for deflections/rebounds and just maul(bump) whoever is on the puck and you will be effective in this game. Not much of a recipe for a fun experience unless you are looking for a Mutant Hockey type experience. Animations in this game slow your player down too much and in some instances just completely freeze your player whether the pass is received or not.
We need a return to pretty passing plays and proper 1on1 battles without the use of the stupid LT.
Forwards and defenders need to be balanced and much better than we have now in EASHL and more like the actual NHL players in the game. All these caps are way too low on some of the builds and theres alot of balance missing compared to actual 1st and 2nd liners in the ACTUAL GAME. The gameplay is tuned the same way why shouldnt builds be much more comparable to HUT cards and actual NHL player attributes. We are forced to be 3rd 4th liners.
People are still ignoring the fact that momentum is the deciding factor if you win or not. Get momentum and your skills work but not having momentum your skill is diminished because EA feels this is the best way to make a fair game which ofcourse we all know is not the way to a successful hockey game. Until they fix how momentum works then it will always be frustrating to play no matter what kind of bug fixes their are. It is all about the momentum or whatever they want to call it. The game isn't trash but it's not exactly what people were hoping for either. The diehards who still are playing this game only still play this game because they love hockey. I love hockey but this game keeps breaking your heart every year.
There is no momentum. It hasn't been in the game since the previous generation of systems.
This has been stated over and over again but some people will just not believe it.
OP is right the game is garbage everything is crap, except the game speed, other then that the rest is just horrible. The amount of animations that poke check/stick lift/bump steal the puck from behind is getting to be to much to play anymore, then sometimes it will just be so sloppy with the puck bouncing around back and forth because they're all doing their animations, just a sloppy NHL game is really what it is.
All EA really needed to do is use the 360 version of Legacy and turn the game speed up and obviously have better graphics now being on the ONE, but that's all they really need to do moving forward in making the next NHL game. It's sad though that because 19 gameplay is so bad, I have to go back to the 360 to enjoy playing an NHL game.
EA do you even have hockey game testers anymore? And if you do and they agreed this was a good game then those game testers obviously are to young and haven't played this series long enough to know what's better.
Played some EASHL online Legacy yesterday and it was way better yes graphics are not as good and game speed is a little slower but overall gameplay is much more enjoyable, seriously people if you can't stand the EASHL for 19, go back and play Legacy, about a year ago I moved a bunch of people from 15 to the legacy version, so people play just make sure you go to Community, Online Team Play(OTP) they will come!
Stick lifts do need an overhaul or some better animations for different angles. There are times I force a forward to the side and I’m unable to stick lift them.
My PMD can’t hit. I tried hitting before before the start of clip so I went in for a better position for a stick lift since he was still holding the puck like that.
yes i've had EA people/devs and apologist argue with me that there is nothing wrong with the "stick lift" animation. Anyone that knows anything about hockey knows the EA NHL stick lift is a HORRIBLE animation that needs fixing. primarily, it should NEVER cause slash/high sticking. stick 1 out of every 10 million "stick lifts" in real hockey get high enough to get anywhere near the face. The animation here is a big dramatic upswing that appears to target the top of someones head. like the opposite of swinging and axe downward to chop wood. The other problem is that it doesnt seem to target the closest stick, its more like some "math" decides if you are aligned correctly and are successful. also if you are behind the carrier, it sometimes randomly just decides "you know what i want to punish you for attempting this, im going to change the animation to a hook/high slash". Which is just ridiculous
i'd like to see them overhaul the animation to be accurate, have some kind of mechanism that auto targets the stick when you get close. this is something that is way too easy in real life and very hard in a video game where player models are the size of a golf ball on 60" screen. To keep it from being over powered, you simply make the success rate randomized at a certain percentage that increases the closer your stick gets to the puck carriers. failure should NOT be a penalty other than your stick is in animation and can't do anything while in animation like stop/block shots/passes.
in my opinion that would get you closer to reality.

There should always be either a slash or a high stick for a badly time stick lift. If there aren’t any consequences for a defensive tool then it’s overpowered without any flaws.
There are consequences your skating slows and now your stick is not on the ice and can't be used to make plays. Also they have to drastically reduce the success rate, but failures shouldn't be penalties.
Sorry this is just realistic. How it currently works is unrealistic. Just like anything else you just learn to work around it... But doesn't mean it should stay.

That being said nothing but the PBC decides how a game will play/end.
This has been stated over and over again but some people will just not believe it.

I tried hitting before before the start of clip so I went in for a better position for a stick lift since he was still holding the puck like that.
i'd like to see them overhaul the animation to be accurate, have some kind of mechanism that auto targets the stick when you get close. this is something that is way too easy in real life and very hard in a video game where player models are the size of a golf ball on 60" screen.
Sorry this is just realistic. How it currently works is unrealistic. Just like anything else you just learn to work around it... But doesn't mean it should stay.

They had this before. It was called NHL 09... and NHL 10... and NHL 11.
