Really bummed “edit player” is gone.

Why remove the option to edit a player during a season or franchise?

I always do a fantasy draft. Now I can’t. My OCD won’t allow me to be satisfied with the default colors on goalie pads. They’re horrendous.

Also, I would have thought that EA would of expanded on the “edit player” during a season or franchise.

I’m talking about allowing us to edit attributes as well as equipment. As far as I know, every other sports game allows attribute editing during a season.

EA likes to be different, I guess.

I agree, I would also like to be able to edit atleast the player equipment during season mode. We always could before, come on EA!

You can edit any player's equipment in Franchise Mode, it was only removed in Season Mode.

We better still be able to edit designation and position like Playmaker, Sniper; Center, LW ect. EA gets a ton wrong with those so I like to fix them.

But yeah, EA is the king of taking steps backward. Games are to be built from foundations and components year-to-year, building and adding on to this experience. It's very rare a feature like creation and whatnot should be removed.

God please let Sony Interactive or 2K make hockey. I'm so sick of these steps backward. We pay money for what's a AAA developer in name only, not skill or efficiency; we should be able to edit whatever the hell we want to.

We actually used to be able too... I may be wrong but I believe the last time we were able to edit players height, weight and pretty much anything was when they added GM Connected... Which is no longer even in the game so I dunno why we can't edit anything like we used too...

I've been saying for years and years add full edits and bring in roster sharing and it'd save a heck of a lot of time on them doing it themselves or even for us waiting for them to do it

I made a thread a while ago about this. I’m happy others feel the same way. I also use fantasy draft and like to edit equipment through the season. I am using franchise instead but I want 31 team control and custom teams. Please to god ea patch it back in. What was the point of removing it!

Why is it this series doesn’t have or it removes simple features that have been in games since the SEGA Genesis days......let’s have 200 different hats for CHEL but we have the same 2 goalie masks for each team for years and now during your season if you trade a goalie you can’t update his gear to match the team? Idiotic but for the company that can’t correct legacy issues and only cares about selling HUT packs it makes perfect sense.

VERY disappointed with both EA and the developer studio this year. You would think that a company that bolsters their use of customization options for modes such as EA ONES and and World of CHEL would give them the notion to keep customization options IN not take OUT...That being said the gear nerd that I am I always use 'Season mode' and have a favourite team I like to stick with thru the regular season, we hockey fans enjoy our realism and I enjoy editing certain player's gear on the fly as they do as well. Please EA, patch this in the next version update (Does anyone know roughly when this is btw?); and bring back 'edit player' in Season mode.

It probably messes with the progression/regression system. Imo, cosmetics and position are all that should be editable. Shouldn't be able to change playstyle.

It is weard that edit player is in franchise mode but not in season mode...

I could not believe my eyes when I discovered that EA took away the ability to edit players in season mode. I understand that EA's focus has switched from realism to fantasy, but do they have to take away features when they know it's going to upset people who paid for the game?

I hope next year, along with announcing the game's new features, EA also informs us of what they are removing. For me, I care way more about what is coming out, than what is going in.

I wish they would have told me too. I’m using franchise right now but want custom teams and stuff. Super disappointed this year.

You’re absolutely right. You can edit goalie pads before you start.

Unfortunately, you’re absolutely wrong as well.

If I do a fantasy draf, how can I edit a goalies pads to match the team he gets drafted by BEFORE he gets drafted by that team?

It's because we can edit during seasons the equipment, facial hair etc. Of course, we can edit all before starting the season, however, if a player is cutting off his wild man beard after 30 games for example, i could easily edit this detail without starting a new season. Maybe I am too much into details, but it does not make sense that EA removed this nice little feature.
