Winning the faceoff without taking a stance

Can something be added where you cannot win a faceoff without taking a stance(unless it's a walk by)? I have this guy currently masking his stance by not being in one, then split second wins the faceoff with either a forehand, backhand or tieup. Seems like an exploit to me as I thought having your stance up earlier gave you more strength winning the draw...

He just times it right with a straight down on the stick its been in the game for years.
