Double ready up?

Why do I have to press Ready, and then press the start button to search for a drop in?

I think it has something to do with the solo dropin sharing the same locker room style group search. This way theres an indicator to show if everyone is ready before the group leader launches the search.

Doesnt make sense double readying up as solo but makes sense as a group.
