Drop outs (EASHL)discussion.

When goals are scored early or things simply don't go somebodies way, it seems rather common these days that people drop out of matches so they can quickly go find another. This isn't good for the community and it isn't what hockey is all about. It's a giving up mentality and in order to sway people from quitting early I would like to see what others opinions are on what they can do to change these tendencies.
Games such as Rainbow Six Siege use a system in casual where players are automatically placed in the game to replace drop outs, or in the case of Ranked players who quit are banned for 15 minutes(This escalates as they continue to do so). What other ideas do people have so perhaps the developers can possibly help stop this rampant problem.

A drop in player quitting should be hit with a 15 minute penalty. Plus putting into a category with others that quit games.

I just played a game and within two minutes the other team is on a 5 on 3. Now I am playing LD and holding it down, one guy gets out of the box and the puck goes to the goalie. Now I am standing to his left expecting him to take the whistle taking we are still one man down, here he passes it out and I am standing like right next to him, the puck hits off my skate and goes in the net.
My wingers offering no help what so ever, leaving the zone early and not passing the puck. Do you think this is fair to me? I am done playing with idiots.
I hear ya...drop ins will always be this way..it’s a casual mode and you should know that going in....the only way to play without quitters is club...for the most part ...those game play out.
Agree 100%. Position play is almost non-existent unless you're playing with friends of your caliber. I don't know how many times last night where people pushed the call for pass when the goalie is holding it. Nothing wrong with calling for pass, but it's usually the idiots at the blue line doing it with the entire opposing team between them as if they're going to get the puck.
Indeed it sucks when that happens but the way I see it if you're playing drop in solo and not with a group of friends you've signed up for the game knowing full well it has the potential to turn out that way. Still no reason to quit, imo.
Oh...what’s this new thing with goalies who after a soft goal or two either drop down and do the curly shuffle or straight up shoot the puck in their own net.
there are many options, other than a time ban, as this would just make people leave the game.
I see your point crystal clear. People learning how to take the L on the chin from time to time is what hockey is all about, though. If they can't even do that then why even play the game... it's all part of the process of learning how to win.
Make progression slow with tiny XP gains in the lowest tier Drop-in Division. Make the bags you earn while in the lower division only receive like 1-2 items at a time.
The more games you play, finish, win, and get good grades in the higher in divisions you rise. With that the bags you earn have more items in each bag. As well as higher XP gains for higher divisions.
Quitting a game could result in immediate relegation to lower division.
All the bad/troll players likely would end up with eachother in the bottom division. And all things could even themselves out.
This was literally me today.
Most games, not 100% sure about EA NHL. Can distinguish between a loss connection, forced close, and outright quit.
to TheMajjam,
if your net dropped because of a power outage, what makes you think you'd be searching for a game within 15 minutes any way? seems like a non issue.
