Drop-in Scrub Hunters

How many times have one of you dropped in a "random" Game and immediately could tell you were vs a squad of people on the other team?

The second I see a cycle down low or a forward pass it back to the dmen and the dmen actually pass it to other D, I know without a doubt it's club guys or friends scrub hunting.

I don't care if you drop-in with a friend, that's cool, even I do that with my brother from time to time. But all 3 forwards who know how each other play or even worse a full squad of 5 or even 6 people?

What a joke. You guys really cant play club? You're so bad you have to get an ego boost beating up on randoms in drop-in?

It's a joke. Real hard to score when our center is no where to be found in the slot or our d man has missed his hint for the 15th time or got caught pinching for the 20th time and I have to stop yet another 2 on 1 or 3 on 1

You have no credibility or anyone's respect when you do this.

If anyone is on Xbox and actually has a club, for the love, Dm me. I can play either D or C.

  • This year I play drop with a couple friends of mine that I also club with sometimes on PS4, but that’s because it’s the only EASHL mode that works more often than doesn’t without either one of them getting a dressing room error. I’d much rather be playing club, but EA has made that practically impossible.

Lots of reasons for club groups to play drop in. Sucks if your drop in teammates are crap, but that's drop in for ya. I use those opportunities to get better. I love nothing more than seeing a high level RW on the other side (I'm LD) because I use it as a measuring stick. Frustrating a P3 50 into taking penalties because I'm completely shutting the left side of the ice down is actually quite fun. Yeah, they might win 3-0 because our goalie and other players blow chunks, but you can only play with whom you're matched up with.

If my defensive and team ratings are 90 to 100...I've done my job.
  • The easy solution is to not let more than three people play with each other in drop ins

Its the best way to play drop in, otherwise you get a team full of players who play out of position, puck hog, don't pass, dmen who play like forwards, nobody plays defense, people quit, etc.
  • I don't really have a problem with it. This is why I think EA cutting the dressing room from dropin was just the dumbest thing ever, single dropin players had a chance to pair up with players that know how to play and compete, but EA, with no explanation, just removed it. Now you get into single player random games that is just a mess.
  • I don't have much issue against the clubs in drop. But mind you I'm an elite defenseman so maybe that's the reason?
  • I don't even play drop in anymore as it seems kinda lifeless and dull with the in the middle of nowhere setting and bland black n white jerseys, etc. Last year when I would play it I'd look forward to playing against squads simply because at least I'd know there'd be some sort of challenge. I get that people want to win all the time, but to be honest in drop in the odds of things going smoothly for you are stacked against you pretty bad. Random players equals vast different play styles, attitudes, skill gaps, etc that must be overcome but it can be done.

As the post above me states you should use drop in to get better. Play your position, make smart plays, and better yourself. If lucky, other players on your team will follow suit...but don't expect this to happen.

If NHL 19 had a proper practice mode for club I think many of those drop in squads wouldn't even bother with drop. Once they eventually (and hopefully) fix or address the DRE issues you'll see less of that as well.

    Bro...

I play to win. I on a consistent basis single. Handedly always keep my team in the game. And when I say single. Handedly, yes I mean singlehandedly.

I can't tell you how. Many top drop-in players I utterly shutdown or force literally to. Turn the puck. Over 20 times or. More consistently.

End of the day doesn't matter. I lose they win. Not fun.

I like you and always like your posts. Your bluntness is comical yet you always have truth when you talk.

I made this post after the past couple of days. I saw my losses pile up with the few games I was able. To. Play.

I still have a tremendous drop in record with like 70 wins and only 30 losses? But still. I've been losing a lot. Can't stomach it.

Record like that you must be one of the lucky ones who hasn’t experienced crashes freezes and errors! The broken games has made it impossible to care about my drop in record!

I've rage quit so many games this year, I'm sure I'm below 500 or close to.
  • You and many others bro! Then if people are grouped together and one gets the DRE they all quit and leave one or 2 guys on the other team which results in a boring game against cpu. Hope they fix soon!
  • I don't get it. OP says he's basically a one-man shut down squad but this thread is about hating on teams that play drop ins. So what they play drop ins? Also, there are a few proclaimed elite defensemen in here too. Please add me via PM if you're on Xbox because I would love to see the greatness in action!

Also, a reason why you might see teams in drop in and not clubs is because their squad might already be playing in a game and secondaries still want to play while that's happening. I can already see this being a thing with LG games.

What's this? Is the Sidney Crosby of NHL 19 complaining that he having trouble vs. a group of people playing together in Drop-ins?... j/k

I hope you're playing on Xbox. Everyone from LG uses Drop-ins for warmups because the main club is being used for actual LG games. That could be an explanation.

I think we might have to see some video to confirm. @DontNeedTips

... or perhaps that group of players actually tried to play club, couldn't find a decent game, and were sick of getting matched up against 2's. That is the real issue that needs looking into. Why is EASHL so dead and why are there so few teams that play with a lot of players?

Multiple dressing rooms would certainly help so that you can have a big enough club to accommodate 6's and not have players sit out when there are too many people on.
  • Yeah I've never seen a team play drop in. I've only seen a well-oiled team in club. Gonna need some video.

I have seen two people in Club 6s before. Both playing D. Like, WTH? Sometimes I wish there was a minimum.
  • We don’t have sixes we go drop-in.

    Compy’s ruin the game.

I have six we go club.
