Don't like NHL19? Stop playing.

Not saying it to be a jerk, not calling for a boycott, not throwing shade at anyone.

At this point those of us who don't like the recent tuner changes have made our points more than enough times. They've been seen. The dev team doesn't agree with us, and while that sucks for us, that's still fine. They would make everybody happy if they could and they have the right to take the gameplay in whatever direction they see fit, it is after all their ****'s on the line for the performance of their product.

But you have rights as a consumer too. If you want to force a change then the only logical thing to do is stop spending time and money on a game that you aren't enjoying. If we stop playing and the playerbase dwindles and we don't spend on hut or we don't pick up NHL 20 and the sales are way down then we were right and EA will make a business decision to change the game to get those numbers back. But if we stop playing and paying and the playerbase and sales remain steady then we are the minority, EA made the right decisions and it just sucks to be us with no other hockey fix. If you dislike where the game is but continue to play and spend money on hut or NHL 20 then you're telling EA that you either enjoy the game as is or that you are dumb enough to buy it regardless so your opinion doesn't matter.

I know life without video game hockey will leave a hole in some of us but logically why keep doing and supporting something that you aren't enjoying? Set it aside until/if your wallet makes a difference.

  • The playerbase keeps dwindling year after year, but they will still pump sub-par games out... Until they don't. I don't think we have a say in that. We're talking about EA here. Worst company in America in the past thrice over if I remember correctly? And let's not forget about the BF2 bedacle. Point is, they make their money off microtransactions and there are still plenty of those to go around in all EA Sports games. I have a right to stop playing, yes, but I have a right to also complain until thier ears bleed or until I'm banned.

Some of us continue to play for the love of the sport of hockey itself. Not EA.
  • Thing is this year was different. Game played differently. Then within 3 tuners they reverted to past tactics.

I can promise I ain't buying NHL 20 until I see at least 3 patches, and then the price drop by at least 65% then I would say it is acceptable. Will likely always buy used from now on. I have 0 faith and trust in this game after the stunt pulled this year.

Something tells me this franchise is on life support and has about 2 years left before it dies or a major change occurs.

Remember just before the beta came out and everyone was optimistic and excited and the beta was released and reviews from people were great, everyone was having fun, change was here and we were so happy!!!

.....to now..... seems more and more like NHL 18.2 every day. the ONLY issue I knew about when the game first launched was poke checking and that wasn't even a huge issue, just be in good position, now we have more problems than we did when the game first launched.

For sure. In my honest opinion, all they needed to do was slightly nerf hitting from behind, but mostly on the AI side as they were too op; nerf stick lifts as they were ridiculous and extremely op (now they are borderline useless) and make poke checks a bit more forgiving, which they have done.

Instead, we get these major changes to bring back the cheese and selfish playing. There are no words to describe how insanely disappointed I am with the change this game has taken.

too many people complain about the game and the other players online. i enjoy the game and will continue to play. HUT is my favorite mode because i like the fantasy aspect and really like playing with the old timers and the Alumni/Legends this year is great.

complaints about other players' style of play and talk of cheese goals and the like is really shallow and fails to understand the game in real life. Fluke goals happen all the time in real life so why not in the game? how many times do you watch a game and it looks like the puck has eyes or watch a team possess the puck and run it back behind their own blueline or net to reset the play.

i try my best to play as i was coached and run real game scenarios but since this is a video game i also do my best to make like Neo and imagine there is no spoon and use the game's short comings and differences to my benefit. i let my opponent dance and deke all they want while i sit my controlled player at thier blueline cherry picking and wait because they will give up the puck and i'll be alone 1 on none for an easy chance on net. then when i get to work on mondays i look forward to come here to read the posts and try to figure out if the poster was my opponent over the weekend.

i may only play a couple hours a week but this game gives me about 50 hours of fun a week.
  • If you aren't having fun , why would you punish yourself and keep playing ?!?

My biggest issue is this isn't a skill based game ... Goaltending you position yourself and hope for the best, same with puck pick ups and interceptions... I have a very hard time standing there hoping the game will work in my favor... I hate that the Deke button and sauce button are connected to often used defensive buttons . I try to manually block shots because I simply don't trust the game to intercept a pass for me, but of course the game does then I'm doing a Deke, the game then takes priority over a user input ( which is beyond terrible ) and queues my action up then I Deke ... So I try to make a manual play the game queues it up and says no my play , ok ea ...

Based on my friends list, maybe 10% of the people that were always on EASHL are no longer playing puck. I can't even get a 6v6 game going anymore because nobody comes to the games now.

Well, I’ve had no choice but to stop playing because of the game breaking Cancel Freeze issue 😐

l will never pre-order another NHL game, no matter how good the beta may be. I will likely wait at least until Black Friday - after I’ve had a chance to read reviews on this forum thoroughly and most of EA’s repair patches have been issued. The game is usually discounted by then too.

EA has lost my faith in their ability to launch a complete game, and more importantly fix game breaking problems in a timely manner.

EA will need to work hard to convince me to purchase NHL 20.
  • At this point this is what I need to do, stop playing.

Every time I play a hut or versus game against puck raggers and short side cheese players it makes my blood boil. This wasn't even an issue in 1.0 and the fact that this is back in the game is stomach turning.

I played a guy just a few minutes ago in versus and he was up 1-0. He was ragging in his own end on a trying to get me to over commit to get a odd man rush. And this wouldn't even be an issue if players didn't have the balance of a 5000 pound unmovable object. The bubble around players is such an annoying issue.

This game was so dang good in beta and release tuner, you could lose and have a boat load more fun than winning in this current tuner.

I wish 1.0 would come back, very unlikely though.

I don't think anyone complains about the fluke goals in reference to other players or "cheese," they complain about the same goals happening over and over again.
