What Good Are Monthly 'X25' & 'X10' Collectibles?

Prev1
I've gotten those multiple ones early in the month. I apply them, and i still don't see what they accomplish as they look to be only good for 1 collectible.
I am trying for that Bobby Clarke card, but see that on December 19, that i still need about 42 more collectibles to complete all of the December ones. If i get close to the total, will those multiple ones count for the amount their stating?
This is some weird stuff.

    Yes.

When you complete 1st set, you'll get that 10x collectible. Put it in 2nd set, it stands for 10 collectibles.

When you complete 2nd set, you'll get 25x. Put it in 3rd set, it stands for 25 collectibles. (not sure if it was 25x though... Or 15x... Or 10x... But you get the point).

    And so on...

  • I don’t know why so many people have such a hard time understanding these. Just do each set in order, you can’t just save up collectables and do the last one.

Maybe he’s new. Can you imagine when someone fires up nhl 19 for the first time on PS4 and goes to bid on a card?

Valid point. I was new, skipped couple latest releases and immediately figured out how the monthly collectibles work. Learning the bidding system was pain in the backhole though. :)

I'm not new. Been playing since NHL '12.
This can be confusing, since you see a X25 sitting there, top left corner needing to fill up 26 slots that only get filled by the daily collectible.
My point is, if i have an X25, why does it only stay for one slot?
  • The trick is to see what it takes to complete a set first and then determine how to obtain each item required.

you've all ready been awarded the set for the x25 so its not like you're wasting collectibles.

  • I'm a pretty big critic of the little things that the NHL team does, but they did this right.

The intent is to give you a reward at 10, 25, 40, 65, and 80 December collectibles.

When you turn in 10 December collectibles in the first set, you receive a reward of a bronze pack, plus a collectible, the x10 collectible, that represents the 10 December collectibles you just turned in, which can be used in the next set.

The x10 collectible is needed to complete the next set, and when you add it, plus 15 more December collectibles, you receive the 25 December collectible reward of a silver pack, plus the x25 collectible, which represents the total of 25 December collectibles that you've turned in to this point, which can be used in the next set.

The x25 collectible is needed to complete the next set, and when you add it, plus 15 more December collectibles, you receive the 40 December collectible reward of a gold pack, plus the x40 collectible, which represents the total of 40 Daily collectibles that you've turned in to this point, which can be used in the next set.

    And so on.

Perfect explanation. Beats mine 100-0. :D

  • Ok, so on 12/29, i have 8 slots to go on the next to last one. The last one, that awards the pack, needs 16 December's, so if i fall short of those remaining 24, the bonus ones cover it?
  • Nothing covers anything, you need to fill all the spots, for the last set you need 15 daily collectables and the x65 collectable to complete the set

Thanks for the response. Looks like i'll fall short again. Last try for me. No longer will i pursue that 93 rated card. I have a life. I can't be on the game every 7.5 hours to get the next free pack. I'm pissed at myself for even attempting this dumb ish.

Yeah i here ya, i did not come close to any of the free monthly legends but with the Dec clloectable trade in set i was able to trade in extra sep ,oct ,nov
and will hopefully see Mr.Clarke tonight!!!
  • I calculated what is needed to finish one of these for the card.

The free pack is available every 7 1/2 hours. That comes to 3 chances a day to get a collectible in the pack.
With this, in January, we have 31 days, so if you get 3 packs a day for 31 days, doesn't that come to 93? That would make you short of the 106 or so needed to complete this latest monthly sets.
    Am i right?
Either way, it's a real crap system. I won't try again. I have a life.

You are wrong, you need 80 collectables to finish the set. You can get a maximum of 4 collectables a day for 120. I usually get 3 a day, 2 from log in packs and one from doing the daily challenges. It really is not that hard to get the monthly legend. How much easier can they make it to get free legends.

You Sir got it perfectly right. Couldn’t explain it any better!!!
  • You can also get some extra monthly collectables from the EVO2 and Original 6 challenges that are up now.
  • And you can trade in three of your older ones for one of the new Jan ones like we could do in December for Clarke. I wish I hadn't bothered with Clarke - he's in my team only until I get Makita then he goes in the bin.

His card isn't worth it? I didn't see Clarke play in real life that much, but i know he wasn't 93 rated, lol.
