don't forget the nerf player switching only compounds it as well.

    What 'nerf'?

player switching has been one of the successes of NHL 19 over '18. It's night and day.

Not to mention you can manually switch players using RS.

I'd also like to add that players who do this should be punished.

Controlling the puck and dominating possession is one thing - skating back to your net , circling around in your own zone and killing that clock should land you in the special place in hell reserved for morons like that.

Who is saying "player switching" is a success? Please cite source and post link, would love to read this.

Thankfully, I don't need random internet people to agree with me that something is a success in order to claim that said success is true. I'm not about to go find "who is saying" anything because it doesn't really matter. I feel that the player switching took a MASSIVE step forward in NHL '19.

I believe you can simply look at the number of threads discussing player switching issues last year compared to the number of threads this year... it's not even close.

Sorry, I'm on the other end of this. It's a total nightmare, it's cost me games. A simple switch should not take me in control of a player that is no where near the puck. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I was controlling one player only to find that I was controlling a player no where near the puck, skating into the boards going away from the play no less. Lots of threads about player switching being a nightmare. Even the manual switching is nerfed, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. The only positive that has worked consistently is switching to last skater.

Or at times when you thought you switched to the player you want, and try to do another play after. Like poking but you end up either not switching at all or switching to the completely wrong player. I'm always having to queue the next move because of how difficult it is to control your guys. Top it off with delay input. The game is currently in a horrible state.

Have you tried manual switching using RS?

Still some complaints, but not as many as last year.
    In 1 hour...?
Confirmation bias only goes so far.
    ???
I just pointed out that it was quite fresh topic in case you missed that. That's all.

I personally dont find player switching all that bad when using the proper way to do it however in close or quickly, yes it can be an absolute nightmare. As far as not complaining as much this year as last year, well Im sure if this game was in a better place there would be more complaints. The nonsense with matchmaking, pause glitching, puck ragging and other glowing problems far outweigh the problems with switching and put it on the back burner for people I'm sure.

Doesn't mean it isn't a problem but there is far far far bigger issues

You should watch the Caps Esports final. No issues with player switching there:

Indeed. No issues with player switching.

Insane amounts of stick curling, hit shrugging, figure skating twirls and about 794 half pivots and 1432 quarter pivots, but no player switching issues.

There were probably around 40 body checks thrown between both teams and what, like, 6 hits between the both of them? If that isn't proof of how easy it is to negate body checks at low speeds, I don't know what proof would have to be provided.
  • What I see is players moving unnaturally...NHL players dont jitter and shake like this. Realistic this game is not. Honestly if I played like this and didn't get knocked on my keaster, that is a problem even for me.

But but their elite players, more like elite stinky cheese.
  • Just what I like to see. Jittery puck movement for 20 minutes, backward figure skating into the zone, players sticks disappearing so deep into the boards, and everyone standing around waiting for the puck carrier to get an opening. It’s a shame such play styles are awarded!

    No kidding.

Would like to see Connor McDavid try this out sometime in a game. Maybe he could score a couple hat tricks in the same game?

In all seriousness, if players tried this in real life, there wouldn't be enough ambulances available for 1 single game.

And that right there is the reason I stay away from vs. Not my style in any way certainly not what I would want to consider as a good representation of the sport.

What you don't like the LT bruh....lol if you watch these streamers that's all they do like I've said before and many others there should be two different tuners ,one for the chel LT bruhs and another for the rest of us who want a game that at least resembles something close to what hockey is

Played this for a long time. I've never seen such a mechanic that ruins the immersion of this game. Game belongs in the trash if they can't fix this.

Same here ,but the use of the LT in my opinion has become so much more prevalent because of the dumbing down of the AI
  • EA wont do anything about it, this has been going on since the start of HUT. The more you cheat and play lame hockey, they more elite you become. This game is pathetic but even more so, the people who play it like that are pathetic losers

These are my favorite toxic chellers. Literally just played a VS game against MN. Scores a SS wrister in 1st to go up 1-0. Immediately switches to full NZ trap and plays keep away the rest of the game. I switched between 2-3 and 1-2-2 aggressive forecheck with full forecheck strat on and my NZ at 1-2-2 blue, meaning my D should be cutting plays off at opponents blue line. My AI would only send 1 forechecker and the minute I took control of non pressuring forechecker to double team the puck he just spammed pass and circled back to do it all over again. It got to a point where the guy would catch a pass and stand completely still not touching his controller until I got within reach knowing I couldnt hit him and knowing pokes/stick lifts likely result in penatlies as he always had his back turned. I finished with 15 shots, him with 7 and I lost 1-0 and to top it all off he messages me after game with a piece sign emoji and kissy face emoji.

This franchise and development team has created a community of players that disgust me to no end. Its been going on for far too long and I dont doubt for a second its a coinsidence that we went from Beta gameplay to where we are now - NHL 18 with improved skating mechanics.

I wont touch VS ever again until Beta revert and likely never again after as I fear we will land right back in the same place. Ultimately that just means no NHL for me as 95% of what I play is VS (and have for the last 10+ years) as my buddies in EASHL play too infrequently and drop-ins consist of nothing but wanna be all stars with no clue how to actually play hockey.

  • Well I thought that video couldn't possible be all that bad as they're supposed to be top players.... nope, it was far, far worse. Top points for sleaze!

Both of those players would light us all up on these forums. No doubt about it.
