They can't specify exact locations because of security. My guess is the netherlands for Central Europe

They can certainly give a state. Saying a server exists in Texas is in no way compromising security.

I don’t think it matters what state the server is in man! the fact that EA and the Dev team is listening to the dedicated fans and customers and actually implementing changes that have been voiced for months by all the feedback is something to be happy about. Seems some people just gotta keep raggin about the smallest concerns even on one of the most positive update threads to hit these forums this season!

I can say without a doubt this has been the BEST year as far as constant communication from EA. They're really showing a commitment to listening to their fans and hopefully it results in the best hockey experience for all of us. This year has been one giant leap in the right direction.

I think ea (publisher) is realizing they're in a bit of a bad pr spot right now, so they are probably gonna be trying hard to regain the trust of consumers. Hopefully this means continued improvements going forward through their various dev studios.

    We can only hope.
  • I see/feel no difference at all. Im in illinois so ive been wanting a server in the midwest/central NA for awhile, but right now it hasnt improved anything.

How many games have you played to determine this? I haven’t got home to try it yet but I’m assuming it will take at least 10-15 games to get a good feel for consistency. Can’t wait to try myself

Ive played about 5 games. Im usually sitting around 30 ping and that hasnt changed. Actually its been a little worse lately.

Edit: just got disconnected from a game within 30 seconds sitting at 34 ping with no spikes or anything.

Keep in mind the pings we are seeing are not correct and haven’t been at all As the network performance display is bugged! We are gonna have to rely on the feel and input delay until the patch is released with that fix. Knowing that the network performance display is currently bugged and has been bugged the whole time explains a lot for me on why games seemed laggy for me despite showing the same steady ping game in and game out.
  • This is great news! I get input delay in half of the EASHL club games I play. I live in Edmonton while some of our club members are from Minnesota, so hopefully the addition of a Central Server eliminates input delay once and for all!
  • Thank you!!!
  • Fantastic. From 26 to 4ms, with should translate to 8ms, due to The bug. Finally some investment that proved that ea trying again.

Will Central servers be used in EASHL games (including challenges) that include West and East players? If so, what is the threshold required to get it? 6/6, 7/5, 8/4, 9/3?

this...also wondering if server space was moved for the Apex launch, as game connection has been absolutely brutal tonight, but mind you I still didnt get a game on the central server. (based on ping)
  • Will the central server be an option to pick ....for club?
  • In addition do bmore's question can you identify which city or state the central NA server is?

Either gonna be Dallas Texas or Chicago Illinois

I would guess Chicago so it can help Canadian players in central Canada too.

Overall though we won't really ever truly know because they can't answer that due to security reasons, but most of the server locations that get used are in those 2 areas. Would be really awesome if we had 2 Central US ones in each of those areas.

This my friend, is very very great question!

If they use Amazon servers it will likely be Ohio unfortuntely, not exactly what I'd call central.

They don't even state it's in central europe. Where did you came up with that?
