Possible EASHL quit glitch or server hiccup?

This is probably nothing, but there's enough red flags here to get my spidey-sense tingling.

My club played a game last night that finished odd and ended up not counting. No win, no loss, nothing. Normally I'd just chalk it up to a server hiccup and not give it a second thought.

But....

1. Their record of 89-4-2 is waaaaaay to good for the quality of player we faced. My club is average at best. You'll never see me claiming we're a "top club". But we pummeled these guys 11-2. They were legitimately terrible. In years past with other "make the game not count" exploits this was always a telltale indicator. Clubs with poor to mediocre players that somehow were winning nearly all of their games.
2. When I looked at their recent games on the website last night they had a couple of game-sized gaps in there. ( ie games an hour apart instead of the usual 20-25 minutes ). Another telltale sign.
3. This club's abbreviation was 8 characters long. Way longer than 3 characters which indicates to me they're not above using some level of exploits.

I'm posting this to see if anyone else has run into any "suspicious" end-game shenanigans. If there is an exploit out there EA should be made aware of it sooner rather than later if there's any hope of it being addressed for NHL 20.

  • I have seen this recently as well. Also seen a lot more of games recently where my team either gets booted out completely, and in a few cases where the game just gets stuck, forcing us to eventually quit and take a loss. In the last 2 weeks or so, we've seen a significant uptick in this behavior.
  • Ran into a team last night where the game "hung" at the end of the first period. We got the old "floating above the crowd" view for a few minutes until we eventually gave up and quit the game which of course gave us the loss.

Looking at that club's record they had 14 DNF wins that night alone all at the 20 minute mark.

    Has anybody seen this one?

Happens in dropins too. Server related most probably.

Basically every game that goes to OT, and we win, ends up kicking us back to the main menu and not counting. No progression, no win, nothing. Has happened 5-6 this week alone. I tweet at them trying to get a response and they never do. They really don’t care about EASHL cause it doesn’t make them money like HUT does.

Since it happens so frequently, surely you captured it on video multiple times?
  • @NHLDev i hope you guys have been working hard to fix all these stability issues and such for nhl20. Everyone I know has spent the entire year completely annoyed at this alpha build game but holding out some small hope that they are being worked on for 20. If that demo comes out and all these issues are still present....
  • @NHLDev Just a head's up that the scenario in my OP is becoming a very common occurrence in the last couple of weeks.

Inevitably it's a team whose level of play doesn't seem to match their extremely high winning percentage. We "win" the game but when the third period ends it doesn't go to the usual post-game menu, but a very limited one and the game doesn't count and there's no record it ever happened.

Just something to keep an eye on moving into NHL 20.
