Offline Love

As an Offline only player, we really are overdue for some love.
Here are a few things I've been requesting for the past several years.
I get so tired of hearing that this is or that can't be added because it would ruin Online play.
If that's the case, then lets have options for some of these to only be for Offline:

Offline BAGM
- Goalie Injuries during games
- Getting kicked out of face-offs
- Live refs that get in the way (can be turned on or off like it was in 2K hockey)
- Before and after game interviews
- Intermission that shows big hits, goals and highlights from other games (looks like they may actually be adding that this year)
- More stat overlays between plays during games
- Better (and more aggressive) AI
- Full control over all teams so I can make trades in the middle of a franchise year to emulate real life trades.
And of course, now the biggest one of all:
ALLOW US TO USE LEGENDS IN FRANCHISE!!!!!

  • That would be nice and a little more customizable arena so you can make an international rink.
  • The only one of these that I remotely liked was the one about being able to control all of the teams. Even if it's only like 4. Multi player franchise is in every sports game except NHL (maybe not FIFA either I don't know since I'm not a soccer gamer) and the funny thing about that is that NHL might be the best sport to have multi player franchise in because you can build up some super heated rivalries and take that onto the ice. It's a miss, that NHL lacks this feature in my opinion.

I agree with this but they need to be placed better then the current overlays. Right now most of the time they are blocking the area so I can't change up my lines. I think it's when you're on the road and the overlay is on the left hand side covering it up. Really annoying.
  • Lmao...good luck with that...dont wait by the door lol....anything that takes away from hut loses them money....incase you havent noticed its a $$$ world nowadays.
People laughed when someone said 30 years ago that we will have to pay for water !

    New Line Chemistry system

    Trade Finder system.

    Offline is getting some stuff.
  • EA has to get rid of the preset garbage faces model and allow us to either scan our face or customize our features.

If you can't bring in a story mode then vastly increase the depth of BaP, bring in mini games like the gym, do drills to improve, add a social media component, let us play on the international level.

I dont even like NBA or FIFA but I buy them to play the BAPs cause they offer a lot of entertainment. NHL BaP does not.

The AI is the biggest hurdle offline has from being consistently enjoyable. I’m really glad the goalies are getting love if it actually is executed well, but this other stuff isn’t addressing gameplay which is disappointing. As a former online-only guy, I can honestly say that the sliders are able to produce very fun, challenging gameplay offline but the AI problems make it frustrating enough to the point where every slider can be tuned beautifully, but I just can’t play more than a game or two a day.
  • I think the only modes anyone plays anymore is EASHL and HUT. I play one offline game as a demo when I get it then the only mode I play is EASHL drop ins... that is the only fun mode.

I don’t think so. If you look in other Forums the most commentary’s are about offline modes. All my friends play only offline modes. Online mode for me and friends are only intressting if we can play in a self created league with a real 82 game schedule including real NHL Playoff mode under us and not with not known people. Thats NHL for us and not to play in Divisions vs not known people ! People in this Forum are not the mass, only a very small part of it.

After playing the beta it's obvious the new broadcasters were not added for offline play. Pure speculation on my part here, but I'm guessing that EA didn't want to keep paying the NBC franchise fees anymore, and by extension, Doc and Eddie, so they dumped anything associated with NBC and went the route of the over-the-top, generic video game announcer who screams about everything. I sincerely cannot believe this commentary package was added with any thought at all for offline players, whether it be "Franchise" or "Be A Pro," who enjoy playing through entire seasons. I'm a season ticket holder and purchase the NHL broadcast package every year, and believe me announcers aren't this jacked all of the time. I totally understand this type of excitement for online games, but not for what is supposed a simulation experience of a true NHL season.

The coaching carrousel, line chemistry and trade finders are nice additions to the franchise mode, but not game-deciding decisions for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative that they were added, but I would've liked to have seen a little more.

For example, in Franchise and Be A Pro modes, we need to feel like we're a part of something bigger than just our individual teams. The twitter feed is okay, but it really doesn't immerse you into the overall league. It really only tells you who is starting in net every night or the injury status of certain players throughout the league. Lets get a radio show that highlights games from around the league each day. For the next gen systems, a real effort should be made on totally immersing the player/owner in a league-wide experience.
