  • So apparently it says that created player and cpu generated players don’t have headshots like in madden or whatnot, but will be available in the future. Is the future later this year after release or in NHL 21? I don’t like playing franchise and 4 years later the entire team has no photos.
  • Not sure why this is such a hard feature when they had it in last gen... going to be more noticeable in EASHL with the new animations and highlights.

My guess is when they revamp BAGM/BAP (likely next year) it gets added in

Would be a cool feature, but EA isn’t able to add photos to every real player. There are so many real players without a photo. For me this is a basic thing that all real players need to have one in. No other important Sport game is like this and we write the year 2019. For example Ryan Donato is playing in the NHL since season 17/18 and has no photo in his player profile. There is no excuse for that.

Usualy EA scans the first two draft picks every year. So Kaako should be in ? From my meaning it’s also a must to scan Vancouver homeboy Quinn Hughes. We will see what they will present us. It’s wondering me that Jack Hughes is to see in one Beta game, even if he didn’t play one NHL game before. They got an extra licence, will be all this year drafted US National Junior players in the game ? They got a licence for them ?

Jack wasn’t in the beta, was in “full” game that was available for reviewers. Kakko, Q. Hughes are probably a certainty. As soon as I see it in gameplay footage I’ll add them in

At this point it’s inexcusable if Rantanen, Carlson, Forsberg, Krug, Arvidsson, Tkachuk (CGY), W. Karlsson, Point, Vasilevskiy, aren’t in. Others are big names but these are easily top players in NHL.

Would like to see some rising stars like Poehling, Donato, Wahlstrom, Fox, Robert Thomas, Brady Tkachuk. Makar, Fabbro. Hope some of these guys will be in. Don’t forget that not so less scanned players will be out of the game, cause retirement or leaving to not licenced league as the KHL. So in average there will be not much more in the game.

Has it on last gen just FYI, no players had blank black headshots. Was a 3D style image

I believe it was for certain game modes. BAP had 3D models, but I think play now and other modes did not. The technology is there but it’s not a priority. Granted, the models looked pretty bad it was better than a silhouette

I can't believe 'in the future' in this case means in a patch later in the year. I believe it's in a year, or two, or three, or four.

Thanks for letting me know as I did not know this.
  • Spotted: Mittelstadt has a scanned face as well. Updated OP
  • The possible player scans from your list ( without bolded marked not scanned players and from Beta as seen as confirmed ) are rumors ? Or are these player scans a confirmation from the net ? From where do you have this information ?

You're probably right I should've done time stamps. I've confirmed them as well as some other people on OS. The only one I am not 100% about is Ben Bishop, but it looks to be a scan when played in 1080p. I updated the OP to be more clear, the second list are players in NHL 19 that are not scanned but should be. The ones in bolded are unfortunately not scanned in NHL 20, as of today.

    Dillon (13:20)
    Goodrow (24:52)
    Sorensen (17:39)
    M. Karlsson (24:43)
    Hertl (6:17)
    Labanc (15:40)

    Kotkaniemi (1:02)
    Bishop (1:29)

    Mittelstadt (7:00)

Thx ! Usualy they don’t scan much more than around 30 players over the last years in every issue. Hope they do as much as in your list and some more rising new stars too.

Will Alex Turcotte have a scan in NHL 20?

Would like to see him, but guess he will not. First he needs to sign an entry level contract, than to play minimum one NHL game or to run through the AHL waiver to get into the Roster. From my knowledge he will play next season in the NCAA at the University of Wisconsin.

It appears that the clip with Nolan Patrick one timer is manipulated. First part of the replay Jason Zucker is chasing the defenseman at the point and then the dman dishes it off to Patrick. It shows the “same play” in slow mo, but it appears that Eriksson-Ek has replaced Zucker as the forward

EA needed two takes to get this replay done and made a goof. I assumed since it wasn’t Zuckers generic face, it was a scan. Everything else is 100% correct like I said, besides the fact I’m not 100% sure on Bishop. Zucker taken off the list, looking to see if any of the leaks confirmed more faces
  • Should be in the CBA that you have to get your face scanned whenever you play in Vancouver.
