What’s the cap on CAP’s?

Anyone know how many created players we can make.
I vaguely remember seeing someone mention that it was around 270 or so.
And since we’re on the topic of CAP’s, can a Dev, or anyone with inside knowledge possibly verify that the new broadcast team will and can say ALL the names on the CAP list?
I ask because I went through the list of last names and wrote down the first ex-player I could think of with each one. It ended up being 252 players. There’s more, but some of the guys I remember from back in the day are very obscure, and I didn’t feel like adding them to the list. I did this because I would like to make Alumni players to help reduce the lower end guys that are doubled and tripled up on multiple Alumni teams, and it would be nice to hear their names.
Unfortunately, I did notice that there is very few Russian names, so I won’t be able to make Alexei Kovalev, Sergei Zubov, Alexander Karpotsev (R.I.P.) and Sergei Nemchinov from my 1994 Rangers.
I can make Pavel Bure and Alexandre Mogilny though. So at least I’ve got that going for me. Which is nice.
