did i miss something? suddenly this update drops and the ai in sb's is like super human?
like literally if they decide they are taking the puck from you its gone, if they decide to score its in the net? like wth? if you upped the ai why not inform people? were you giving away to many hut rewards and decided to make the game harder? tired of dominating and giving up 5-10 shots a game and the ai scoring 3-6 goals a game..anyways just wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference?

  • Dont see anything different wth SB since update
  • are you playing on superstar?
  • I play on Superstar and nothing is changed. It is not harder. Maybe, you don’t like the new feeling of how the player skates after the update. It feels a little bit different, nothing big though.
  • I felt the difference too! And my players has become dumber! They’re not even near their position and when there’s a pass lane open, they go behind the opponent.. Still manage to beat them, but they’re insanely better.. Wonder if they mixed up the update with Star Wars and now AI got the Force.. And my players.. They’re.. Something! Can’t even catch a pass, they freeze and I’ve never hit so much post in one period!

Anyway, some will say they’re better than anyone and they are way too good at this game cause this is human race!!
  • It has nothing to do with being better or not than somebody else. When you play on Superstar, the CPU has a boost on every attributes which make them less prone to mistakes and more effective. That can be part of what you experienced. There’s also the fact that as the cards get higher in overall, the teams that you play against are getting better in general. Yes, there’s still some 70 overall, etc... but in general, they have better players which help cpu even more.

If your players are out of position, it can be for multiple reasons. You may have done something that made them think that they needed to be there and/or maybe your strategies are set that way and/or your opponent strategies are perfectly set to counter yours. If during a game your AI (not you) seems to play weirdly, be out of position, etc... You can press pause, call a timeout and/or change your strategies to counter your opponent strategies.

That’s what I do and it works well for me. My players play as good as their attributes are and go where I want them to go. I don’t glitch goals (because what’s the fun in that) and I am not good at dekes, so all my goals needs to be one timers, good shot, deflections, rebounds, etc... It is possible to play well defensively and offensively without cheating/glitching and be successful in the game. It might requires practice to get use to the controllers, etc... but it is possible.
  • The only thing I really notice is the stick lift has turned into a slashing penalty button.
  • I don't see any difference and I've never spammed LB, for what that is worth.
  • Actually, the AI was always like that to me in some games. I'm sure it has something to do with strategies. At superstar, the AI adapts well. Sometimes when the AI is pressuring too much, I lower my strategies, create turnovers and get more breakaways.
I had this happen to me with team OVR of 70.
Of course when you get this with a 92 OVR that's something else, but I always start these games with my strategies toward defence, get a goal or two, and then his strategies will change or his players will get tired.
If you have a strong 3rd-4th line you can use that to your advantage.

It tough at first, but in time you should be able to adjust your strategies depending on your opponent's ones.
But I did see those moments where the superstar AI is in god mode. When I can I take a penalty to stop the momentum and win the next face off, control the play, sometimes score in PK.
Especially at the begging of the game or at the end of each period...
  • I play Squads on Pro and have seen a big change in the opponents since the update.

I'd seen a few oppontents with 90+ lineups before the upgrade but was winning 3+ with litttle resistance. Now they're playing real tough and any lineup over 85 is giving me fits.

Dont' get me wrong, I like it and not complaining.

I'm getting 1 opponent 90+, 2 @ 81-89 and 1 80- in the group of 4 and since the upgrade I have only 1 multi goal win without EN goals vs 84+. The game with Snoops Squad was a 3-2 win with GWG @ 19:38 in the 3rd. Those 83 and under I'm smoking by 4+ but losing the faceoff and possession battles by large margins.

My team AI looks good and though I give up a ton of possession time I'm not getting outshot and my D-zone form holds if I don't over switch the player I'm controlling. I have noticed trouble switching players on the forecheck and when chasing loose pucks though and don't think it was there before.

I don't do a lot of dangling so I can't tell what they fixed but I'm still able to skip the puck across the blueline and cycle the low boards but It's harder to get to the slot. I can see that some of this is the opponent's strategy and I'll adjust mine if I can't get my shots.

Wonder if they mixed up the update with Star Wars and now AI got the Force.. And my players.. They’re.. Something! Can’t even catch a pass, they freeze and I’ve never hit so much post in one period!

The net is only 2 meters wide. The area to shoot it in is a small exhaust port just below the goalie's main port. The hockey stick's shaft will lead the puck directly into the goal horns system. It will start a chain reaction which should destroy the other teams chances of winning (hopefully).

As you skate towards the net, use the Force of the slap shot, @blazedragon666

Mind tricks can work against your opponents, too.
  • These are not the pucks you're looking for

I also recommend using a little force mind trick on the goalie.

"that's not the save you're looking for".
  • Thank you for your input, I have been messaged by a few people asking me the same thing. My opinion is they have been made harder but not every game, some games they are tough and others they are almost impossible.
