Oh my... Snoop Dogg? Really?!

This game is the worst game and the community has been crying for changes for the last 10 years. Somebody at EA thought getting Snoop Dogg in a studio to read some lines is what the game needed??
Is this actual real life? They sat in a board room, and came to the conclusion that: “what this game needs is Snoop Dogg doing a period worth of commentary”.
What on actual earth is going on there at EA?

Perfectly said, their priorities are so backwards. I just want a good game to play, as it stands the game does not play well at all.
The point is they're still spending resources on this crap when it's badly needed elsewhere.
Fo shizzle.
So, there's a single positive comment in this thread, and that's the only one you "respond" to? Alrighty then...
Having a guest commentator isn't the end of the world. it's something that this series sorely needs; better presentation. Something a game like NBA 2K has been doing for many years successfully now. And it was something that EA had said they were going to do since the beginning, so it's not like they pulled funds from "fixing the game" to add this.
Could they do a better job of fixing this game? To paraphrase our good Moderator above: Fo Shizzle, Mah Dizzle! But seriously, I think people are just reacting negatively because of WHO they put rather than WHY... Just because Snoop is... A Rapper, doesn't mean he doesn't belong in a hockey game. Especially considering that Snoop actually IS a fan of NHL hockey (the sport, not the game).
Of course it's not the end of the world, and I actually like Snoop, he seems like a funny guy. And yes, the game really needs better presentation, but why not have guest commentators that are actually experts of the game? They don't even have to be big names like Gretzky or Mario. And in my opinion there are lots of things they should include to improve presentation before adding guest commentators, things like arena athmosphere, where you can actually feel if you scored a big goal, or authentic goal songs, arena music etc. (custom music says hello), or TV style overlays like they had with NBC (doesn't even have to be a real broadcast company, but what we have now is just waaaay to arcadey). More real player faces would also add a lot to a more authentic feel of the game. I could go on and on...
And yeah, it's pretty obvious that EA just ignores most of the negative feedback, as seen in their response in this thread.
I mean, having Snoop in the booth who's very enthusiastic about hockey in general, probably means more to the current generation of "chellers" than legends like Gretzky or Lemieux who, no disrespect, would probably sound dry and uninteresting.
Again, I'd wish EA would use some of the resources to include these superficial add-ons and actually work on making their game like actual hockey. If their game did that from the get go, I don't think people would actually care if they put Snoop or LL Cool J in the booth. If the game's good, people will forgive a lot of nonsense.
But the game is horrible, so now people are mad that they "wasted" their time with putting a Celebrity in the game, when they could've fixed their game instead.
I'm amazed year in and year out by those that say they're done with the game yet the next season are back on the boards firing off the same useless comments.
Offer solutions, don't just be negative and for cryin out loud don't get personal.
Yea he is a big fan of la kings.
The commentary is in all offline modes also. Does anyone know if its staying or just untill the.chel stuff is over.
Wasn't he a big fan of the Ducks not too long ago?
Although I might have not responded to concerns around specific topics being discussed on these boards (ex: shadows on canals), that doesn't imply I'm not taking note of these for the team to be aware of for their feedback sessions. A lot of the devs read the discussions here without responding, too. They might still be in testing phases for changes and need a little bit more time before giving a clear response. I'll try to see if we can get some info around some hot topics as soon as possible. I'll do what I can to champion for your causes.
