So how you guys still have a license to produce a NHL is beyond me cause every year you make the same piece of crap and say it’s better well this years game I can honestly say is the worse I’ve ever seen.

Love how once again ratings doesn’t matter in this game since I’ve lost to a 77 overall goalie when I have a 92 overall and said team has no synergies running and I have 5

Love how the same flaw happens where if you change to a player before he gets the puck you end up passing it way to keep that in EA

Love the goalie glitch in chel where you can’t cover the puck and repeatedly go up and down like your a Japanese native bowing to the opponent

Love how your new puck pickup system is not there since I’ve had puck just fly right by me when there right in front of me or to the side of me

And most importantly no gm connected......don’t want to get the players away from hut so you can suck out every last little penny we have huh

Your company is a joke and doubt this post will last long but whatever at least I got to vent my frustration with you on your board for at least a minute since you never answer any of my posts on twitter so much for customer service huh

I've been sayung this about the goalies from day one ,in my opinion I think it's purposely done ,just like the D men stepping up or abandoning the back door.
  • There is so much wrong with this franchise but they don’t care just as long as they get our money in hut

I agree with ya boys. The decision making in this game baffles me. This game should be based on user input. What you want your player to do, not have the game decide for you. It should be based on the users knowledge of hockey and the users knowledge of team chemistry. It should be based on your players ratings and build. Full customization of your player should be brought back. Height, weight, equipment for all types of builds. Better AI, and goalies who aren't made to look so pathetic. How NHL goalies allow their names and likenesses to be in this game is beyond me. Defenseman as well. This pond hockey nonsense has to go. Jesus, i just read back what i wrote and realized I have a better chance of winning the lottery, lol. I don't have much hope left when the PS5 version comes out. Not in the current direction this game is going. I'm not falling for that false advertising they come out with every year lately, just to be dissappointed again. Sad but true.

Another thing, the puck should be live. It shouldn't go through sticks, goalie equipment, etc. It shouldn't change course in mid-air mind you . It also shouldn't stop dead on the goal line with momentum behind it, that one really gets to me. Older versions of this game had the puck hitting everything making the game unpredictable. Go back and play a ps3 version, any one of them, and tell me if im wrong.

According to some they're only doing what the community asks for...then we ask them what community are you listening to cus we never see it here, twitter, twitch, youtube etc....I've seen nothing but bad about this game....so exactly WHO wants the game this way is beyond me.
  • Sticks through bodies is my biggest complaint as a D-man.

    Poking gives me penalties.
    Stick lifts gives me penalties.
    Tie ups gives me penalties.
Hitting gives me penalties or doesn't work at all.
    Blocking shots gives me penalties.
DSS is useless most of the time and slows me down.
You refuse to do away with the LT spam, and make the forwards so OP they can literally be a one-man wreck crew.

The last line of defense I really have is good positioning and you can even program losing the puck when someone's stick goes through my body?

I don't mind offense being the name of the game, but make it fair and make it a team game! Defense and goalie are the worst positions to play this year.

Another thing that needs to be fixed is passing idk how many times I’m aiming at a player and the pass is off and misses the player completely I’ve tried three different controllers thinking that’s the problem but it’s not

Can you make sure the ice trainer is on so we can see where your passes are aimed and submit a clip here where it goes in a different direction? If it's not sending it where it should be, we'll need to take a look at that.
  • They don't care they are the only ones make a hockey game in the world then only sales that count $$$
  • Having a 2 star rating say's it all about how terrible is game is

EA needs to have someone look at the game's physics. When an object (like the puck) changes direction AND velocity in mid flight, there's something wrong...

To me it just looks like a physics error like the game thought the puck bounced off the player but the gane didnt display it correctly. But, i do know what youre talking about because ive seen it happen quite a bit.

I thought so too at first, but then I watched the replay and you notice the puck hits the player, then starts to rotate like it's gonna fall down in place, which would've been realistic. But then in mid air changes direction and speeds up.

Couple that with the announcer saying "Oh! He put that in himself!", "The goalie's gonna want to have that one back. He thought he made the save, but he knocks it into the net instead."

So in a sense you are right, but it's so weird to see the game get "confused" and then wig out like that. Ben doesn't like it when I say it, but that's the epitome of "contrived EA physics". :/
  • If you want to take physics on, watch players looking for rebounds in front of the net. Players that are overly open almost always get the rebound come straight to them. Just observe when you peeps get the chance.

I know. Pucks magically find their way to their sticks every time. It's like what @WainGretSki said, it's like it's part of their game design to keep the puck from going astray to keep the game "flowing".

If that's what's causing all this, it's such a STUPID design mechanic.
  • You mean where the puck magically stops on the line?

Or the puck being soft lobbed to the goalie and suddenly ricochet quickly to the opposing team player for an open net?

After a game I had tonight, I'm about done with this series. They've just about pushed me back into the text hockey sim games again.

It's pretty sad. My buddies and I used to play this game online almost every night. Last night we were in party chat......one guy was on Madden, other guy was on nba, and I was on cod.....none of us feel like playing nhl anymore. I guess we're not part of that community that feels the " game is in a good place".

Yup. The game doesn't flow. Most things feel forced and it cheapens the experience. Any single realism this game is trying to go for, it all goes out the window with this kind of stuff. Like explain to me how roughly 85% of rebounds go straight to an opponent's stick, and the percentage is also very high of this happening on successful poke checks.... Randomness can only account for so much.

Also why when i finally do get a sucessfull poke does the puck always go right back to him or one of his players? If i lay a big hit on someone its like im stuck in animation while he lays there and i cant retrieve the puck, so 9 outta 10 times hell just get up after being leveled and get the puck right back....or hell get uo faster than you can get to the puck.

Pucks stopping on the line like that is intended to minimize own goals. It's one thing when a puck deflects off a defender and goes in, but if they have control of it, even for a moment like that, the puck will stop on the line. That was done after a lot of negative feedback about own goals.
