NHL 21 EASHL Wishlist
What are some of your guys/gals wishes for Eashl in NHL 21?
I’m curious to hear what the community has to say as I’ve played Eashl for about 10 years now and seen a lot of things taken out wish I would back in.

Bring back the indoor drop-in rink. Focus on hockey and not on flare.
Give the defensemen tools to combat the flurry of dekes.
Use the skill system that FIFA uses/ the way it used to be in like NHL 14. Instead of two perks and a specialty have exp points that are unlocked through good play. Instead of getting cosmetic bags, have skill points unlocked for getting a certain amount of goals, assists, hits, etc...
Get rid of CR unless its club.
I like it! Thanks for the feedback!
I definitely agree with this. I like how FIFA has their pro club system. I would add the ability to play as an “any” so you can control the CPUs
Players get swollen eyes, busted noses, and bumps but I think full cuts and blood would force them to up the player rating
On the team I play with the forwards are around 5'11 and under 200 lbs, but are somehow the same speed as 6'4+ 220+ lbs defenders. Based on how the builds work in this game they should be winning those races every time, but somehow the big players can have the same speed as them.
I would love to player progression again. I hate the cosmetics. Most of them are useless since I primarily play club. The only cosmetics I want are the pro gear.
It would be interesting to see how losing edges would change how the game is played. Those sharp turns and quick stops would have some risk associated with it. The balance perk could be used to determine the success rates of those kind of plays.
- Bring back the customization of builds(like many say).
- bigger hits like hits into the bench and through the glass.. after the whistle.
- better fighting and allow a fight to happen at any time. Like the old days.
- i like the cuts and blood someone brought up
- allow us to change the cpu guys to a different type of player(like change peters for a grinder type player... crane for an offensive player). This would help build our cpu guys around our human controlled play style.
- id like to see them lose all this presentation crap before the game.. all the cut scenes... and focus more on the mechanics and attribute customizations that matter.
- PLEASE REMOVE THE SCOREBOARD FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN... sorry caps lock got stuck..
- player progression please... no buy to win.. just grind to get more points.
- maybe lower some of these penalties especially for tripping.(might be a good use of the discipline attribute when bringing back the player custom builds. 😁 )
Max Level:
T/P5:
T/P4:
T/P3:
T/P2:
T/P1:

So if you haven't reached tier 1 yet, you can't join any higher lobby (T/P2 can't join T/P3 and so on...) until you reach that level. I think this will be better for the advanced crowd and be better for those who are not so skilled.
Shootouts after a 1st overtime would be awesome. Have some sort of system that picks for example centre position shoots first then right wing...
Big one is to bring back the old 6v6 EASHL drop ins where you play in the indoor arenas, and are able to choose team jerseys. The current set up for EASHL in NHL 19/20 just has an incredibly boring atmosphere, and only being able Lions-Hammerheads and playing in generic black and white sweaters is just... no good. One of the big reasons I haven't played much of it at all compared to past years. Bring the old style EASHL drop ins back asap and keep the cosmetic and outdoor stuff to the 3 on 3s or ones...
Bringing back the old 'build' / attribute customization for your player for eashl would be good too.
Ability to choose your bots build and load outs would be nice as well
1) Better player builds - like everyone says, my 5’10 sniper shouldn’t be getting caught by a 6’9 EFD. Also it would be great to see additional goalie builds.
2) Better goalie play - it seems way to easy for a user goalie to get absolutely lit up. I would like to see it be a bit more realistic especially when my player’s ratings are comparable to Vezna trophy winners ratings in the actual game. It seems too easy to be beat with a cross crease pass, sniped top corner from a player coming down on the rush, etc.
3) Jersey selection for club games - I posted a separate thread about this issue already but I would like to be able to change my teams jerseys before the start of the game if I am playing a team that has white home jerseys or very similar color schemes. It’s tough to make out who’s who on the ice when everyone is wearing either white jerseys.
That’s about all I have for now. Mostly I’d like to see a less arcade type of gameplay for EASHL specifically. I’m fine with that being offered in the 3’s and 1’s eliminator games but not in the actual club games.
—Puck pickup
Enough said
—A.I.
First off please just make them more consistent. Not randomly giving up one timers from the slot while a dman just stands there. Secondly, I would like more in depth strategies. Player specific behaviors to fit into broader schemes would be great. Like FIFA instructions. Lastly, better AI does not mean cpu players that are just boosted and can just run over you.
—Slow down the game.
Yes, hockey is a fast game but slow down the skating to put an emphasis on positioning and control. Punish players for being frantic and out of position on defense. Focus on moving the puck and making good, patient decisions.
—Emphasis on physicality
No, I don’t mean hits that happen every 15 seconds and looks like something out of NFL Blitz. Quite the opposite actually. Ability to battle for positioning in front of the net and corners. Be able to lean on guys with big forwards down low to win pucks/positioning or before getting to a lose puck. Like jostling in fifa but with some kind of stick control/interaction.
—Defensive overhaul
How is it possible in 2020 that there are still just 2 buttons for stick checking? It’s one of the most important parts of the game and we have 2 buttons. It was time about 10 years ago to introduce a defensive skill stick and put a focus on that instead of hitting.
An example of what this could look like using the left stick.
RB-Poke check, hold to extend stick using LS (same)
Flick up-Stick lift
Hold up-Stick tie up (anywhere)
Flick down-Swipe at blade
Hold down-Stick on ice, ready to cut pass out.
Flick left/right-Hook at shaft, high risk of penalty
Rotate from left/right to down-slash at stick, high risk
Holding A would get your player into a hitting position where skating into someone would result in an open ice hit. Hitting A late or not at all risks miss/elbow penalty.
