Hitting From Behind

How and why is this still in the game!!?
How is this not a major penalty?!
I see massive career ending hits from behind every game I play from my AI opponent and it’s never a penalty, assuming because there is no “hitting from behind” penalty. I can also smoke the AI players from behind with no consequences.
This MUST be addressed ASAP!!
It was vicious in the video but I don’t know how to post video.
I play offline in Play Now.
Both hits below were directly in the numbers and right in front of the ref. Should be a 10 minute game misconduct.

You serious bro? These hits would be potentially career ending. You almost never see dirty hits like that in the NHL. Would be a game misconduct for sure.
NHL Rule Book
43.1 Checking from Behind - A check from behind is a check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend himself, and contact is made on the back part of the body. When a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty shall be assessed.
THERE IS NO SUCH PENALTY IN NHL 20.
Yeah, I’m actually pretty serious. I have no idea what your sliders are set to, but if you’re anywhere close to default you’ll see a lot more over-the-top checks due to your sliders, and not because they should actually be called a penalty.
Part of the rule you posted clearly states that the carrier needs to be completely unaware of the offender in-order for a major penalty to be assessed as there’s currently no minor penalty option the NHL for checking from behind. I’m assuming in most of your scenarios you posted, the carrier at some point knew the defender was coming which makes these hits completely legal.
Again, open-ice “checking from behind” penalties are extremely rare at the NHL level. I would not like to see them called in this game, as I don’t even feel like they call boarding correctly, and this would just be another penalty in the game that would be called in a way too inconsistent fashion for me to want it added.
