Hip hop has never been to much 'hockey', but yeah, gin and jucie and some nice dekes, I like it!

Allow the option to disable/enable some of the songs that come default within each release
Allow the option to customize/add your own mp3s

Another nice touch would be to hear specific arena songs that are played as each team walks on to the ice. i.e. Seek and Destroy, etc...

Don’t say that:D The Liiga team I support added Kanye’s Power to their arena soundtrack last season and it’s a great fit.

Hip hop has evolved a lot over the years and there’s a lot of it that could be ’hockey’

Yeah you propebly right.. But back in the days, Lemieux and Gretzky's era wasn't that much 'gangsta'. But just such a thing that snoop is in this game, might say something.
  • Please, for the love of god, allow us to add our own MP3s and bring back the custom music feature that was in the game previously!!! There is no reason that this feature, which was around in like 2011, can't be around in NHL 21! Just make it happen already.
  • Custom music would be a nice feature to return. And for an NHL Game soundtrack, Would love to see Classic Rock like AC/DC, Queen, Journey, and Aerosmith in future NHL Games. Blinding Lights by The Weeknd would be nice for an NHL game, and maybe songs from the 80s, 90s too. And today's music as well.

    Hey everyone,
There's been some talk of the soundtrack for NHL recently. I've merged a couple threads here so we can continue the discussion. What kinds of music do you want? Should it represent the sport or is it more up to personal preference? Should there even be a soundtrack or just a custom music feature? Let's hear your thoughts on all things soundtrack related.

Custom music needs to come back. Id love to hear zeppelin when the levee breaks as a goal song. And no offense to Eat there's no way you could afford Zep

Ice hockey has always been rock music orientated and should remain so. When i played i used to love coming out to a good rock track. None of this rap and r and b rubbish.
So much diversity these days, maybe do several soundtracks and let players choose which they prefer.

If I go live to see hockey, I prefer heavy mood setting music, by any kind, as long as it get my adrenaline to rush. But I would go nuts pretty soon if the soundtrack just consisted of upbeat music.

Is it even realistic to think people will listen to a NHL soundtrack?
Maybe if it consisted of over 1000 tracks with very diffrent sounds or more for the musical direction, long rhythmic beats. Battlefield as a good exampel, but war and hockey is two diffrent things.

    - Stones/Manafest
    - Secret Weapon/MxPx
    - The Mason/Wovenwar
    - The One Thing I Have left/Hawk Nelson
    - Lifehouse/Hurricane
    - Cauterize/RED
    - Legendary/Skillet
    - Take My Fire/Switchfoot
    - Rawkfist/Thousand Foot Krutch
    - Livin' On A Prayer/Bon Jovi
    - Crazy Train/Ozzy Osborne
    - Eye Of The Tiger/Survivor
    - Say It Ain't So/Blink 182

    - Still Waiting/ Sum 41
    - Makes No Diffirence/ Sum 41
    - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams/ Green Day
    - Basketcase/ Green Day

It would be sweet to see some of these songs on NHL 21 even though some are over 20 years old, I'd love to see Multiple
soundtracks in a game, example is have 6 soundtrack options
    1. Punk rock
    2. Alternative Rock ( the more edgier side of the genre, less of a Black Keys blues andmore of a Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Sum 41 type Alt. Rock.
    3. Hard Rock/Metal
    4. Pop
    5. Rap/Hip Hop
    6. a mixture of all 5
  • Seems like Custom Music coming back is the most popular and best overall choice. Hopefully EA is listening although I have my doubts.

-Crumbling Down (give up hope) - Sentenced
    -Painkiller - Judas priest
    -The trooper - Iron maiden
-2 minutes to midnight - Iron maiden
    -Mony mony - Billy idol
    -Sandstorm - Darude

Just put a fraction of this list and im good!

most of these suggestions are amazing. but darude-sandstorm? a lyricless song in a hockey game? i just can't see that song being something i'd listen to prior to a hockey game except MAYBE as warm up music, not music i cycle through the menus with.

I'd say stop it with all these obscure, and IMO crap songs every year. The last couple of years I've just turned the music off since I get so sick of the songs (which are bad to begin with) after just a few days of playing the game. Custom music is the way to go, and it's a shame we lost that feature from last gen.

That's for menu music. We also need improved arena music - for example basic organ music which for some reason is completely absent from the game. Look at NHL 94 - it has every classic hockey organ tune there ever was. Why not use all these in todays game? There is no need to obtain the rights to these, is there? This is a really simple thing that would improve authenticity by a lot. It should sound like a real hockey game, but currently it doesn't. For now turning off the arena music volume is the best option, cause I'd rather have complete silence than listening to all these weird and truly awful songs during stoppages.

So, either add some proper music or give us the option to customize music ourselves. I can't imagine a single person is pleased with the soundtrack of todays NHL games.

I can tell you right now that the sound track gives me bad vibes, and that my feet will certainly be going “boom boom boom” to get the heck away from it. This soundtrack is like a backyard filled with stray cats, just sad.

We went from Avenged Sevenfold, FoB before they were awful, BFV, Paramore, Gob, Bowling For Soup, and many many more great bands to soundcloud wannabe pop singers and emo garbage garage bands.

Isn't music subjective though? I haven't liked probably 90% of the soundtracks over the last 20+ years because it's just not my style of music. I think the last song I really liked was from Jimmy Eat World on NHL 03. I'm sure we try to select songs that help add to the overall immersion, but with so many people with varying tastes in music, I doubt it'll ever make everyone happy. Turning the in-game music off is one of the first things I do as I like to stream my own from my PC.

This is why we need custom music. I can't for the life of me understand why that feature hasn't been in since last gen. Custom music WOULD make everyone happy.

That Is pretty funny, I don't listen to a lot of "newer" Alternative Rock, I'm still lost in the late 90's and early 00's, (even though I was born in 03 I hate Pop music, I wish i was born in 95.

How is the music obscure? Like it’s the most run of the mill car comercial-ish boringass, lame, characterless rock music that have gotten into the last couple of NHL games. It’s the opposite of obscure.

It would be nice to have custom music but don’t any of you guys have spotify? It’s kind of a pointless feature for me honestly because you can use spotify on the background on ps4 anyway. Now when I think about it you can probably play your own mp3 files on the background as well.

The songs are obscure songs, by obscure artists, obviously. The genre may be mainstream but that's not what I meant. And streaming from Spotify is so not the same thing as having a proper custom music feature. Whenever I go to a menu my custom menu music should automatically start and once I leave the menus and enter a game it should automatically stop. I could have my custom menu playlist which loads up everytime I load up the game. It's not integrated in the game when streaming from Spotify. Then there is the arena music aspect, where on last gen you could assign music to goals, intro, intermission, penaltys, breaks in play etc. Good luck doing that with Spotify.
