NHL 21 will be the year that killed EASHL. Mark my words. All these new stupid animations for the offense, good luck thinking anybody that values their sanity will want to play defense and/or goalie. 6s will be a thing of the past.

So on top of the L2/LT exploit, defenders have had to deal with, players banking passes to themselves, flipping pucks up to themselves, dropping pucks n picking them up along with the new ridiculous lacrosse goal that looks like his stick above the crossbar anyways n wouldn't count in the real world. I guarantee these new animations will draw nothing but interference penalties non-stop.

Has EA lost their minds during the quarantine to even fathom this will be fun? I understand people have to work from home under these crazy circumstances but EA can't and has not made a competent hockey games in ages with every tool available to them at their work facility. Who thinks this year's iteration is going to be acceptable when they are developing the game from their homes?

I can proudly say, I will not spend a single cent on this game, won't even play it when it becomes free a month after release because it's gonna be a horror show. I would rather spend the time and create all the new players manually in a 25 year franchise mode, set the settings completely opposite to EAs default settings and play NHL 20 for the next 5 years.

It's becoming a real joke and I have read these forums since PS3 days. Year after year there's a ton of posts about how the offense is overpowered, how there's no balance between offense n defense, etc, etc, etc. Nothing has ever been done. In fact the reverse is what happens. Then you get these people on here who talk about skill gap and all that other nonsense n try to justify and brainwash everyone.

Don't worry, I've copied n pasted this and will be taking screenshots periodically for all the censors out there that like to silence people and don't allow people to share their thoughts n opinions.

So basically we are paying full price for 3 new dekes and to have the practice room added back to club, which never should have been removed.

Why are there no new defensive tools added?

L2/LT is still a thing and on top of the new stupid dekes, this should just be renamed Exploit 21.
  • After a few games, Nhl 21 feels like the Dec patch NHL 20 should have had.
  • Lol. It literally is a $60/$80 patch.
  • Yes i agree that this feels like a patch but i still feel like i play better D now with harder to pass the puck through the players skate and stick pokecheck has more to it sticklift little bit of opness in it but i still say You need more movement without the puck the puck carrier has so much more agility just using the skill stick sooo dont think im going to get this rooster and patch game update on release if not be a pro is the bomb this year

See, here is why EA cant win.

Forum people: "we don't want stupid new stuff! just fix the broken old stuff already for god sakes"
    EA: <fixes broken stuff>
Forum people: "It's an $80 patch!"

EA will never win. They could do everything right and there will always be someone to complain about something they don't like.

I am not even saying ANYTHING is fixed. You tell me. I am simply pointing out that people complain when they dont fix things, then complain when they do.

Ahhh yeah i got ya. But the thing is which people do they listen to here? Cus the ones that are happy seem to be the same streamer/exploiters that complained and got the game in its current state as it is.

Well given they don't consider 5000 survey responses a large enough sample size to make decisions on, I am not very hopeful that the couple dozen rabblerousers we have here on the forums are taken much into consideration, unless we are confirming something the team already knows/is planning to work on.

Lol thats on them. Why do a survey and then turn around and tell us its too small amount of people to matter? Put the surveys in game and there will be no excuse.

Thats what were referring to. But EA said there were not enough people polled and that poll was just a few months ago so they werent aware how many wanted it but the thing is people have been complaining since it was taken away so they jad already known foryears.
  • The beta in my limited experience is pretty good. The lacrosse goal is pretty much impossible to do and i still don't know anyone that has been able to pull it off. Some of the new dekes are pretty good, the bank the puck off the back of the net is awesome. The differences in defense are there, i just don't think they're back of the box things. The poke check seems more effective again, using your body positioning to strip the puck from the puck carrier is more effective again, and the overall changes to the skating engine i also feel are advantageous to defenseman. The LT has been nerfed a little so it's not as bad as it was in 20.

All of this is just from a 6s perspective after i think 4 games, so opinions can change with a little more hands on time, but from what ive seen so far its pretty decent.
  • And when clappy wrote on twitter 80% wanted custom build back but did we get it 🤷🏻‍♂️

A bit unreasonable to think that would make it into this year's game even if they were doing it based on the poll... dontcha think?

You asked what people expect because you didnt like that people were complaining that it seems like a patch, so people tell you about things that have been major complaints on this site and others for years, EA was told people wanted them in their surveys, but then its unreasonable to think it makes into the game this year?

So people arent allowed to complain its just a patch. People arent allowed to say they need to clean up the broken aspects of the game that have been there for years. People arent allowed to ask where the improvements are like custom classes even though thats been a major complaint since they were removed years ago. Please let us know what were allowed to complain about Mr. Lion.

I mean yeah if it was ONLY this year people have been begging for it back but people have complained since they changed it.
