  • Thanks for posting this!

This is the strangest flex ever by EA on this game. Maybe it's senility setting in here, but when have they ever done this, releasing mode details piece meal like this?

Well at least I get to know more about the mode I care about tomorrow...

I've always suggested they do smaller, more didcated videos for the community so they can really get their point across (but that was more along the lines of showcasing how glitch goals and stuff aren't actually out of your control but whatever, more is always good).

Chel (EASHL specifically) is most important to me so its nice to get info I want "early"

I'm going to try and keep this updated when they talk about the areas with links so people can try to get all the info here.

They have actually done this a bunch. It's been different from time to time. I remember when we got the information early and people complained there was no more info like 2 months before release. So then they waited and people complained they were waiting too long . They also had things spread out in the past too. I prefer the spread out method as long as they go into details about the modes and changes and interact with the community about the topic discussed.
  • Thank you Follisimo. I like it this way, a zip of the goodies now and then instead of everything at once.

Gameplay - HUT, but I guess alot of my questions about the gameplay will be clear during the BETA. But will be interesting to hear them out about it too.
  • Aww, sad news, was looking forward to this, but it dosent effect the final realese date and of course ther's more in life.

    Peace ✌️
  • oof *slow clap* took them less than a day to lay waste to the roadmap; I'm actually impressed
  • This is unfortunate. Pretty disappointed to be honest. I can’t quite wrap my head around how this beta test and information about a mode in a video game has anything to do with standing in solidarity with those opposed to the social injustices happening ever day in the states and in Canada.

I get that you’re making a point - but the point is being made on a MUCH larger scale by way of real-world teams making real-world impacts by striking.

Withholding an NHL21 beta test - something your community has been looking forward to for a while now - is not going to raise any more awareness about these terrible acts of police brutality than the actual league itself postponing meaningful games.

It just makes no sense why you’d sour the hardcore fan base just to keep up with the trend.

Obviously I’m not opposed - but definitely disappointed and quite confused as to how any of these things are related.
  • Yeah I agree you kid. But EA as company is pretty big, NHL took a decision to reschedule like every other big League over there. Big pressure. Guess its a little "damned if you do damned if you don't" scenario.

if it means that EA has finally found a way of objects: hockey sticks, puck, body

it does not pass through itself without response and without physics.

so even no test needs to be. it would be the biggest game revolution in EA hockey.
  • @KidShowtime1867 I think it makes sense because people like us who would normally be playing the closed beta now cannot and they gave a valid reason why. It is EA's way of bringing attention to an issue that they feel needs to be addressed. This makes even more sense when you consider the social media blitz EA went on the last time something like this happened. How bad would EA look if they went on as normal just 2 months later? It would look pretty bad. From a PR standpoint for EA, this makes a ton of sense to do. This isn't a what do video games have to do with the actions of police question, but rather this is just a logical follow-up response for a company that put their necks out there the last time something like this happened.

We'll get the beta when we get it, I'll guess sometime next week.

Until then we should at least try to understand why this is getting delayed in the first place. And I am not asking you to agree with the stance, you can do what you please on that front. But realize this makes all the sense in the world for EA to do given the response EA made the last time this sort of thing happened.

Edit: I’m being too divisive. Removed my post. I can suck it up and wait.

  • Also - if EA SPORTS is serious about raising awareness - then they should take NHL20 servers offline while the NHL players sit out.

I'm not getting into a topic about race that never goes well.

I did see a little of the other post but not enough to fully comment on it. But I agree with the part that EA should've done more about their own games that had an issue involving racist team names. I've seen several teams with team names that were disgusting.

And I'm not saying you're a racist if you don't agree with the movement. Because I honestly don't believe that. If we're being honest, I don't think that these protests are going about things the right way in some ways, particularly those that are destroying property and stealing from stores. With that said, I do believe for the most part the protests are happening for the right reasons.

Now, let's get this discussion back on topic about the game.

I'm looking forward to playing the closed beta when it releases. It'll be fun to experiment with some of the new dekes and bank passes (what I think I'll use more than the dekes) since the game should feel similar otherwise.

I'm hoping the feedback is constructive and brings the game into a positive direction moving forward heading into the next generation of consoles. That would be ideal.
  • I bealive there's no chance we are giving the opportunitie to play this beta today ah? NHL playoffs start again, but maybe nothing to relate to this..

Beta use to be from fri-sunday but often gets extended 1 day or so..If I remember right.

I guess wednesday-sunday, but I will probebly be wrong...

I just crave to play this now, started to be done with 20.
