  • we also have to weigh in that maybe 5k people responded to that poll and that’s a very small fraction of our total user base
OK so this begs the following questions:
    - what poll participation number number would be significant enough for you to make a decision on based on the outcome?
    - How would you propose to get to that kind of number so that users participating in them even make them make sense to put out there/ participate in?

I am not being a jerk but if you put out polls and then imply that the response numbers are too insignificant to make decisions on...

I only ever saw 3 posts related to pulling your goalie on here and AHQ (1 of those was mine showing you could actually pull the opposing G lol), so I find it weird how fast this flies up the priority ladder
This was heavily lamented back when they first put it in then pulled it back out.

So how about putting the polls in game so EVERYONE can voice their opinion and we wont have this whole "they said on twitter and reddit". No wed have cold hard stats from anyone playing the game (but since i dint trust EA, the poll needs to be public). These also are not things weve been asking for since just last year.

    This is a good idea.

I still think sitting on the bench should be part of thr punishment/shame but that's just me.

I proposed this as a "pre-autokick" step in a scheme for punishing trolling/bad team play

Here's an even BETTER question (or rather QUESTIONS):

    - How many people responded to the "survey" that made you revert the changes to the poke checking that punished players for spamming it from behind back into what they were before the patch not even 21 hours after that patch dropped?

    - How many people responded to the "survey" that made you guys dumb down the Defensive AI?

    - And How many people responded to the "survey" that made you guys make scoring easier?
  • So, is the drop in crowd still stuck in the outdoor arena with that fabulous helicopter?

Obviously, prob the same amount that responded to the survey about chel builds, but their streamers and gamechangers prob pushed so it got done. They DON'T listen to us period. Theyve literally said they go to other forms of media for their feedback. Well if thats the case then theyre straight out lying cus im on all the other places they get feedback and its STILL mostly negative yet they keep saying they get all this positive feedback elsewhere. Where EA?

Remember how long it took them to remove the canal rink from drop in because of how many people on here were complaining? If they were actually looking at other sites, they would have realized we hated the outdoor rinks and have since they put them in in 2018. I don't believe they actually listen to what the majority of players want.

They dont. They have proven time and time again that they will listen to the users (streamers) who will plug their game all year for sales, over the users who want a quality product. Its not just NHL. EA games as a whole has let their quality go just to squeeze a few extra bucks out of people. Theyre making more money than ever from these games, and putting less and less of it back into the product.

To make matters worse, they treat us like were too dumb to see it, and even start silencing people who make enough noise. Some of us are pretty highly educated people and see right through their lies. Ive LITERALLY caught them in a lie on their support with the chat to back it up and they denied saying what they said lol.

Some of us have also been around here for so long that weve seen personnel changes and certain changes are the exact moment this series started to slip, and we can see their lies on spot cus weve been around long enough to see them contradict themselves.
  • I can’t believe nobody has said anything about how EA has destroyed the playoffs.

2 weeks season finals where only teams that play a million games have a chance to win a cup. No more heated and exciting elimination games. This is a terrible terrible move.

So what...now 6s teams who play with human goalies have to compete in ranking points against teams with cpu goalies? Not to mention cpu goalie games are easier and faster to get and so therefore giving your cpu goalie team a better chance at playing more games and earning more ranking points?

Do I have this garbage about right?
  • Also, five divisions and only 1 cup winner per division? So basically ea is telling 99.9% of players to never worry about playing season final cause only the very elite team will win the cup and if your club doesn’t plays dozens and dozens of games to compete with the clubs full of players with no jobs than you have zero chance
  • So is there a dedicated thread to discussing the beta? If there is can someone direct me to it.

Either way I'll get out a few things here.

Have played a few drop ins and it is literally a copy and paste of 20. Simple little things like presentation, stupid score and clock at the bottom taking up way too much space. Same old Cybulski saying the same crap he did last year. Same outdoor games with the same terrible shadows from last year.

Same Lions and Hammerheads. Same builds, same gameplay.

    Honestly, man. Embarrassing.

Hopefully this tanks like Madden21 so we can finally get some traction on actually caring about changing things.

In true competitive play there can only be 1 winner. The previous implementation allowed hundreds of winners without anyone really knowing who was the best. There will be rewards and banners for competitive teams even if they don’t rank #1. If you play club finals in the technical test you will see what I mean.

You can’t determine the best by mixing in cpu goalie teams and human goalie teams.

Cpu goalie games are much much easier to find and those teams will rack up way more points than a human goalie team.

    That’s a totally broken system.

I’m just gonna day this is the biggest disappointment in this game. Ranking cpu goalie clubs and human goalie clubs together. Who does the thinking over at EA?

How could you not see this being an issue? I’m telling you right now, cpu goalie teams will end up playing way more games and getting way more points. If you don’t separate human goalie teams and cpu goalie teams, you’ve just ruined the playoffs totally, As if you didn’t already making playoffs this ridiculous leaderboard.

I mean the playoffs are for everyone not just 6 player teams, but I know what you mean the wait times to find other 6 player games are likely going to be longer than a 3 or 4 player game for example. The rank points earned are still a zero sum CR type system though so if the 6 player community is mostly competitive and skilled, your average opponent skill level will be higher thus wins will propel you up the leaderboards faster than playing against lower ranked teams. That’s still an uncertainty as for how many games will be needed. We will have to wait and see how many games and wins clubs end up playing to get to near the top of the leaderboard.
  • I see little to no difference between NHL20 and NHL21, and the slight changes (in WOC) should have been last December patch, not a full price game!

Further more, there still stupid things in the game
    • Don't care much about the names, but why is the Hammerheads and Lions blue and orange on the scoreboard, but their sweater being black and white?
    • Still many cut scene showing the dryer, helicopter, tractor, etc when we do not care about those
    • Bring back full gear for Drop-in, make outdoor more of a Winter Classic/night setting with even lighting, removing the annoying lighting/shadow effect if you intend to keep the outdoor settings. Note that the communities largely prefer the indoor rinks.

This has got to be the biggest disappointment yet again, for EASHLers this has been one of the most asked for things back...and they go and "fix" what isnt broken. Removing marathon man was a mistake...

  • The fact that we're over 10 years in to this drop-in experience and one user can still pause the game blows my mind.

Literally. I cannot fathom how anyone in that studio plays this game - has someone pause the game after a whistle so they can change whatever settings they forgot to change forcing 11 other people to sit there and wait while a 30 second clock ticks down - and think.. "yea.. this is fine"

30 seconds doesn't sound like a lot - but it literally happens, every. single. game.
