Can anyone tell me if people can still hold the puck and skate around with it while up a goal to run out the clock?
This is a griefing exploit that breaks the game in my opinion.

Couldn't tell you. Im getting nothing but errors for online and hut and devs won't do nothing as usual
So why does every year theres so many stupid issues with your game. Why can't you developers stop being so damn lazy and not copy and past the same game 3 years in a row. The worst part is why is there more bugs every year when its basically the same game.. I spent 100 bucks to get half of the game..I cant play hut or any online at all without getting an error. Why can't you guys actually work on your game and improve it. Can't wait for some other company to start giving you guys competition because until then your game is **** and full of bugs.
You spent $100 on this game? You're crazy if you did. Anyway I'm sure it'll get fixed. Contrary to popular belief I'm sure EA doesn’t enjoy upsetting their customers.

Yea I did because I love hockey, but I'm getting tired of EA being so damn lazy with simple updates and fixes and actually working on their game. Its been since the 8th that this issue is still damn happening. You would think they would of fixed this damn issue before 3 day early access. Good thing I spent 100 bucks to not even get 3 days of early access on hut or any online modes. Well at least they actually improved be a pro.
Btw yes EA likes upsetting their customers. They been getting complaints about skate 4 for the past 10 years and FIFA has been the same game for 3-4 years. Every year they disappoint their community.
Lmao they had since the 8th to fix that issue that people were having during their 10 hour gameplay trail before the week. Why don't you go watch your 2010 bruins since that will be the last cup you guys will ever win
They had 5 days to fix that but their lazy man if you haven't noticed the menu has been the exact same for the past 3 years. Its straight up laziness because they could care less.
Is the menu that big of a problem? Every year it gets faster and faster (it seems like it anyway) so I say don't fix what isn't broken. If it was broken then yes I'd agree but their are bigger issues than the menu.

They could at least change the font or something to at least make it feel like a new game..
Quick question. I ordered the standard pre-order. I played the 10 hour trial. I thought today was the early release for the people who pre-ordered. Or is it we only get 10 hours still until midnight Thursday/Friday? I just got booted with 1 minutes left in a versus while up. Ugh. Also anyone else noticing a delay or not being able to change to your dman when opposing team grabs puck inside their zone on a breakout/turnover. It seems you can't even change back to D like we used to by the time you get control they are past the D.
God it's nice to don't have to worry about contacts.
Is the LTing officially over..? Feels so.
I'm currently ranked 50 in OVP and I am still seeing LTing but not as prevelent as last year.
Still trying to develop a defensive strategy for it. I'm very glad DSS is more active than last year, that is definitely helping.
Also, poke checking from DSS is very pleasing this year. Last year, I felt like sometimes it would target the skates for no reason - maybe poor positioning on my part - but this year there seems to be some forgiveness on that aspect as well as more accuracy based on where you're pushing RS.
It also seems you can pre-emptively aim your poke checks by pushing RS in a direction immediately before pushing poke check. Aiming a poke check using DSS comes with more accuracy but requires a bit more dexterity with the fingers - but I like it.
Defending this year seems far smoother - there's even more importance on body positioning which is very good to see. With the locomotion engine from the UFC game - you can really feel the weight behind getting positioning on someone who has the puck and stripping it from them.
Previously, this felt cheap - you just hit poke check or stick lift and strip the puck.
This year it feels you need to do those things in coordination with your body - and that is stellar. Absolutely love it.
My fear is users will complain about this - not having a deep understanding of body positioning importance in stripping possession - but also being used to just having to hit one button to obtain the puck.
I sincerely hope the development team doesn't cave in to the flood of complaints that will come from users who previously realized success in the NHL series by using just the actions (poke, stick lift) with no thought to their body positioning.
I am having a blast with NHL 21. And this is coming on the heels of being handed a 15-0 loss by the #5 ranked player in OVP. He dessimated my defence and instead of trying to keep the score low I pushed my team to try and generate offense.
Although it may sound strange, I was glad to see that a user like myself in that position (down by too many goals) was held to 0 goals because I was rushing things too much offensively without getting any puck luck.
The randomness of luck can be abated by playing solid D - which this player did and shut me down completely.
It's nice to know I have those same tools in my tool belt - I just need to utilize them better.
God it's nice to don't have to worry about contacts.

Nice rank, I know you have it in you, I seen your poke checks.. 😏👍
I had some people that try to skate backward when there going to attack, but often they stop after the first time.
Yeah it's funny how much 20 you are in your DSS/poke mind, im still trying to feel my way of whats OK and whats not OK with the DSS. Sometimes I get surprise that I havent got a tripp when I was sure it was going to be. But it was good, my stick didn't have any impact of the opponent that had a clear momentum. Thoose times I rather see the puck carrier being able to keep the puck and skate away then he get tripped and reff blows the play.
* im trying to find my strategy too, dont know yet, if offense is the best defense or the opposite... Oor. Maybe something in between.. But it's fun, cause it feels like the strategies is much more importen this year.

I would have been furious to lose by that score and cussing the game out instead of accepting the fact that I stunk that game so I can respect that you accepted the loss so well.
I like a lot of what I read in your reply, it was nice to see something positive said about the game for a change. The board is filled with negativity.

Oh I was mad. But in all of the goals my opponent got behind me, I honestly couldn't find an explanation that didn't begin with 'I was pulling my D out of position' or 'I turned the puck over.... AGAIN'.
Although a goal or two would make me question the physics calculations or the goalie animation the game decided to pull from the database - in the end it was a poor decision by ME that started a process that ended up with a puck in my net.
The positive side of being the victim of a **** whooping like that is knowing that had I just made a few better decisions early on - I might've hung in there a little better.

I mean there were more cross-crease one-timers than anything else - some people may consider that 'cheese' - but I feel it's just open season for one-timers when the human plays poor defense.
The only 'cheese' this paricular player pulled off on me was an in-tight forehand/backhand on the goalie.
But again - I let him get there. It's hard to stomach a goal you see so often, but if I can shoulder the blame it makes me hate that aspect of the game less.
