That must be an error because you rightfully should have been able to play until you run out of time. Did you close out of the app when you turned your console off last time? That's a very common problem.

I still have 7 hours and 2 minutes left on my trial according to the screen when I try and open it up.....

It sounds like you're trying to play the full version. Can you load into the EA Play Hub and try launching the trial from there? Also, make sure you're signed into the account that has the EA Play subscription.

Whether I try to open through the main Playstation screen or through EA Play Hub, it still does that. There's no specific full game vs trial delineation.

You'll probably need to delete the trial off your system and download again through the store. Not the EA Play Hub.

Removed the game. There is no ability to download a trial through the store or through EA Play Hub. It's either buy it or nothing.

Do this instead - Go to your console's online store through a web browser. Find NHL 21 and you should see the option for the trial as long as you have a current EA Play subscription.

Nope nothing. I have an active EA Play and PS+ subscription as I was playing it a bit the past few days. I know I had the same problem last year where it simply wouldn't let me continue the trial after the official release. Now the only way to download is to purchase the full game.

The only workaround for this I'm aware of is pushing the download to your console through the online store. When you find NHL 21 in it, there should also be an option for the trial. If there are multiple versions of the game, check each one. You should see 3 dots (...) and clicking on that will let you download the trial.

Nothing unfortunately. It recognizes that I have an EA Play membership as it gives the discounted price but there are no 3 dots anywhere for any of the versions (I checked them all). I didn't rush through the 10 hours Wednesday evening and Thursday because I thought I had more time from Socairs answer.

Just curious, are you on PS4 or Xbox? I have a friend on PS4 with the same issue. So I'm wondering if it's an issue with PSN.

I'm on PS4. I deleted the game and now I can't re download it unless I buy the game outright. And it's a problem with NHL because I go to Madden and Fifa through EA Play and I can download the trial. NHL one I can't.
I saw on reddit that a couple of users simply had to restart their PS4 and it was working (not the deleted thing). I turned mine off and then on again and it didn't work so maybe tell your buddy to restart instead of turn off and see if that works.
As for me, I'll try and go through EA Help but who the hell knows if they'll be able to do anything.

The only other thing I can think of is that you used up all 10 hours of your time. It's easy to do if you don't completely close out the app. The timer will still run if you turn off your console, but it's in sleep mode and the game is still open.

I mentioned this in the first post but when the initial problem started, I had 7 hours and 2 minutes left. It wouldn't let me open the game after that. I don't have a picture or video to confirm it but I can link you to a reddit post where there is video of the same thing happening. That person solved it by simply doing a restart rather than a shut down however the issue for me now is that I can't download the trial without purchase. I understand the game has released however I can in fact download the trial for Fifa and Madden even though those games released as well.

My friend is having the same issue on ps4 and he had over 5 hours left. That's why I was asking to see if it was possibly a PSN issue
