This appears to be intentionally deleted. It just straight up isn't there any more where it was every other year that I can remember. Tell your programmers they better get on it for a fix like yesterday. I'm not gonna dig in my wallet to buy packs because your team intentionally makes it harder to search for players individually. That's EA greed in full bloom.
This was not intentional. It's a bug that is being investigated.

The simple fact that it has ALWAYS been in the game and now suddenly is NOT indicates that this is something intentional.
If it were related to gameplay I would believe their reply. This is a simple search filter. I’ve been testing software for 20 years and I have never seen an omission such as this deemed a ‘bug’. This is a simple Boolean flag that is either enabled or disabled by default.
There is no need for anyone on this forum to submit a report to have this investigated

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. This is the nature of bugs. They are unintended. There have been many things over the years that were affected by bugs. They aren't exclusive to new features. Buy it now was not intentionally removed. This is being looked into.

When we have more news on this, we'll post an update. There's a patch coming early November, but we don't have the details of what it's addressing yet.
It is my opinion that the removal of the Buy It Now search was done intentionally. People who don't use real cash in HUT (me) use this Buy It Now feature religiously to build teams with coins earned through playing games. By removing this feature EA knows they are making that task A LOT harder to do, and by doing this they expect more people to spend money on packs in order to build their teams rather than the way I do it.
This is a dirty, sleazy, and greedy tactic by EA...and they wonder why they are being sued over loot boxes, gambling, and similar practices repeatedly. For me, I'll just keep stockpiling coins until they get their "bug" figured out or just deal with a broken search feature as I look for "free" ways to build up my team. Or maybe I'll just end up not playing it anymore at some point.
I'm sure the people at the top of the EA food chain are the only ones who REALLY know without a doubt why this feature isn't in there anymore, just as they only share certain parts of their propaganda with the EA people we chat with on these forums. But, that's far enough down the rabbit hole for me right now.
My theory is more simple. They changed the search function and IF they tested it, they only tested to make sure everything works, and did not make sure that everything is there.
Therefore, not a bug, but still inexcusable.

Again, it's a bug. This is in no way us forcing people to spend more. Why would we do that when we keep making it easier for F2P players to build a competitive team? Over the last few years, there have been several new ways to earn rewards. If we truly were only interested in forcing people to spend money, you wouldn't have seen so many additions for earning free content.

Swapping your goalie in HUT? Hasn't been an option for years... people complain for years... still not there. Yet it's somehow broken...

They took that out because once someone started losing the game they would switch goalie back and forth and shoot the puck out in defensive zone to take a penalty. After doing so a few times the game would crash and would give winning team a loss.
They did the right thing by removing that option.
