A continuous joke ...

10 yrs in row and still same crap...
overall 85 team plays an 80 overall team... Guess who is out-skated , out turned goalies plays like he is 99 overall ... You can’t deny it this joke anymore, it’s blatant now that the lower overall team has a advantage... a huge one .

Team overalls have literally zero impact on the outcome of the game.

  • treat myself with Kopitar's primetime, worth every 49k coins I spend. Heavy on the puck.
  • I couldn't agree more. If a skaters top speed is in the 60's and my player whose top speed is 91 just comes off the bench you would think I would be able to outskate the him? Nope, why? Because the that player is AI and EA has no idea how to make the opposing AI challenging without making the game so unbalanced.

The AI shouldn't be as fast or faster than player you are controlling

Every player should be what their stats say they are, no matter who (or what) is controlling them, at ALL times, unless the player is fatigued.

Is fair to assume the 80 OVR team is a player with equal or better skill level so they are capable of winning with lower OVR teams? We received a lot of feedback last year on these forums about goalies needing improvement in stopping more pucks and so far we're seeing positive feedback overall on them, however there are conversations on cross crease goals.

These goalies you claim are playing like 99 OVR, what type of shots are you taking at them?

The player with the top speed will skate faster but if they're coming out of a turn you won't see them reach their potential. Try switching your camera angle to a higher angle like Overhead to test out some games. You'll have an easier time identifying where you'll see the faster skaters outpace slower ones.

If AI was always slow on purpose to encourage human control I'd imagine that would lead to a poor experience because from what we've seen in the forums, improving the AI's logic has been a popular request in recent years.

Its not fair to assume this. I am a pretty good player at this game and other than the fluke game that the game allows my goalie to be a wet paper and 7 goals allowed on 7 shots - i don't lose often and can match up with any player

This is tough question to answer... I dont sit there from the faceoff dot and below goal line shimming back and forth to cross crease. I am a cerebral player that prefers simulation style over cheesing for the win.. SO yes I am scoring from all over the ice...

The issue is that a player like Gaudreau , should not skate by my Hiskanen with Distributor and speedster activated... And he sure does . I understand skating back wards is never as fast as an oncoming player full speed but not if my player was in BETTER POSITION from the get go, this would not happen

Try playing squad battles. My team skates through mud when I play silver and bronze teams with a few gold players mixed in. But when I'm playing 88ovr teams with multiple master set players and mid to high 80s icons, my team feels fine.

Strategies the other team is using shouldn't magically make my team skate slower. There's only one thing that would do that. But it's been denied. Maybe because we call it something different than what they named it so they can claim "we don't have ice tilt".

Something is going on under the hood when my team physically performs different based on the overall of the team i play, and it's fishy when it's always lower rated teams I'm playing when this happens.

Deny it all you want, but something is happening. If it's not intentional, then it's something they can't even figure out and just simply claim there's nothing implemented. Maybe there isn't and it's just a side effect of sub par code.

Skill doesn't make 80 speed somehow faster than 90+. Are they more skilled at pressing up? That's a tired excuse

People who claim something isn't happening, generally aren't observant enough to notice the differences.

My question is, what game mode are you playing? Have you tried playing with the settings to see if that helps any? One setting I would recommend every one check out is attribute effect, that really does help with player separation in terms of skill. If you're playing an offline mode try that and see if it helps you.

Doesn't work in any hut or eashl modes.

That's why I was asking which modes you play because I'm an offline player mostly and I'm enjoying my time with the game. Unfortunately, like you said, there's nothing you can do to change the settings. I wish you luck though, everyone deserves a chance to enjoy the game. Hopefully you will be able to soon.
