One of the best known rules is that the pass is faster than the players themselves. The pass is very important to overcome the opponent and to keep the game flowing. In general, perpendicular passes speed up the game, and keep the action parallel to back passes. Short we help each other with events during events in a small space. They travel to the goal area shot passes yes shot passes! it is impossible use this tactic with slow pass.
cross crease from EA is absolutely unreal. there is 0 sense how EA present cross-crease pass.
1. look how any hockey team is training this situation. one two short passes and shot. passes are not shoted. EA is using this situation.
2.now look how the same team use this situation on real! there is a huge different between training and real. passes are shoted it is a different.

at this clip it look how in the crease is any bubble again. empty place where is no exists an contact engine. yes this clip show how this situation is 100% different from nhl20 (nhl20 without patch without tuner)
nhl20 is near the perfect with one timers attempts + cross crease is near imposible play easy (offline mode) . how many years we did want this??? how many years we did wait for this??? EA can do so simply repair -> back cross crease to nhl20. nothing else how easy EA can do it back to playable this game, right?!

The fact that they increased shot power up close is what makes the cross crease even OP. You know that overpowered broken shovel animation? Pretty much every snap shot after receiving the pass takes exact same time as that shovel animation even if the animation looks different. All forwards have to is hold up and literally there is no more that slight delay to receive the pass before shooting, they can instantly flick it perfectly with even more shot power now. I timed it and goalie takes a full sec to even animate to those and puck will be already in back of net. They wanna cater to garbage forwards to feel amazing that they broke the balance and game in process.

right. I am still believe EA will do repair this issue. It can be any animation transfer. it look how EA did want make a smooth animation for the nhl21. it look very the same as pass smooth animation from nhl19 to nhl20. it was done very good.

Ok. Here's the reason this is happening.
He is starting to play a pickup. Self collisions are disabled on the stick so that you don't knock the puck away from yourself when you attempt a pickup. This is done in case your stick hits the puck before you actually acquire it. This situation is unique that the puck would collide with the stick so far ahead of the pickup frame. He is going to intercept it where it lands, but the one timer is a frame before that. Had he been in a poke or DSS state, it would have collided. So, the player is trying to get his hands around to receive it. He wasn't able to complete the pick up because of this.

They can fix pass interceptions but cross crease will be still broken and OP as long as these animations are still there. These arent rare occasion either, EVERY snap shot after receiving the pass up close has 0 delay to "receive" the puck before shooting like it used to be. Its instant broken animation like this where every snap shot is instant like that extremely broken overpowered shovel animation that triggers once in a while, but it pretty much happens in every snap shot now.

I don't think he was saying the mechanics response was unprofessional I think he was saying "but breakdowns are not really received well here"
What's not received well is nonsensical mechanics that make the game experience worse. That being said this kind of thing I just except as part of playing a video game. Try to find ways to improve things at all times. But as gamers we have to just except this is just a game. Its not real life.
It makes for an ugly looking replay but I never believe in picking apart this game at this level. I mean we asked for less tripping and current state allows pretty liberal DSSing. But at a cost, there are times where the stick collisions are turned off. And in replays we could find many examples of our sticks hitting sticks/pucks and doing nothing because they have essentially become invisible because they hit a body part. Again it should be flagged as "working as intended but needs to be improved". But I'm not going to hold my breath or worry about it.
This explanation does possibly explain a lot of situations. If instead of simply deflecting pucks when you are defense and covering an opponent getting ready for one timer, your guy is initiating a puck pickup animation and the other guys one timer animation is given some kind of priority? That could explain why I see so many high powered passes going to the stick for successful one timer even though you are in perfect position to intercept/disrupt the pass/shot. Maybe the defender is stuck in some kind of puck pickup animation at exactly the wrong time that is disabling collisions? Essentially helping to make the argument about OP one timers?
I really think they need to try and improve collisions and such through any animation but not a hill I'm dying on.
Getting screwed defensively by the puck pickup animation isn't new. This clip is from NHL 20 and it's more or less the same thing. In good position, but because the game decides the player is going to pick up the puck in a spot that doesn't make sense defensively, the offensive player gets the puck instead.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqZKo9Nnbms
There needs to either be a new mechanic for playing the puck defensively or some modifications made to the current mechanics.
Ignoring for now playing the body or being close enough to stick lift ( both of which are inconsistent ), there are currently two ways for a defender to play a pass. They can get in position and pray the game lets them intercept the puck or they can use DSS and hope that the control is fine enough to get the stick perfectly in the passing lane.
It would be nice to have a way to defend a pass that is more focused on breaking up the pass rather than intercepting it but without the need for perfect placement of the stick the way DSS is currently. While DSS is useful it lacks the fine control that is needed to replicate a real-life player's ability to break up an incoming pass.
I'm not sure what form such a thing would take. Making it completely automated like current pass interceptions would likely lead to problems where the breakup of the pass leads to the puck going places the defender didn't intend. Maybe something like a modifier on DSS that allows for it to somewhat auto-track the puck when a pass is made.
Pass interceptions are definitely broken. I'd say 95% of goals scored in this game are one timers or dangles. It's ridiculous.
yep I am playing now nhl20 only because nhl21 is broken with this (offline season)
my set is (nhl20) "real pack" without patch + without tuner
allstar 3x8min period
Pass Assist: 100
game speed 3
goalie (basic)
shots (basic)
Min Pass Speed: 22
Max Pass Speed: 78
One Timer Accuracy: CPU: 2/Human: 5
Pass Interceptions: CPU: 50/Human: 40
Pass Reception Ease: CPU: 25/Human: 20 (19 is hardcore)
Puck Speed Rec. Eff.: CPU: 85/Human: 85 (if you are novice set HUMAN under 80, if you are Wayne Gretzky set HUMAN over 95)
Bouncing Puck Recep. : CPU: 60/Human: 30 *under test*
pass accuracy are CPU 65-75% now!
You can not see any easy onetimer at game. Interceptions are mosty accurate now with this "real pack"
you will see many inacurrate long passes from CPU now.
if you want CPU play more agressively set
Pass Reception Human: under 19 only. You will see how CPU will blown your skill!
TIP: if your defenseman is on your defense zone and your attackman is over your blue line so quick release R2 for pass without holding! your defenseman will do a fast pass to your attackman with the best speed (automatically). this situation you can not do anytime....
Im startin to wondering, will it ever be fun, in it's right meaning, to be elite... To be elite, you need to win games, by any means necessary, to optimize your chances of going away with the victory.
I dont think people with the target of being the best has the time that it takes to develop a game style thats pretty, and fun to go up against. Cause it want be sufficiently reliable. You can't risk to loose games out of bad luck, you need more insurance then that, so who you gonna call...?
Cross creases.. Force.. Force.. Force... The one that do it best.. Will also be elite...
But what I dont understand. Is thoose that never will be elite.. Why try to play that way, that never really gonna bring you to the top..?
NHL 21 offer you a great opportunity to play a pretty cool hockey, that wont take you to the absolutely top, but it will defenetly give you alot of wins and also a great satisfaction.
So stop trying to be number one and try some other moves then to cross crease your way to not the absolutely top.
Save that fun to the guys in div 1-2, so can the rest of us play hockey and have some real fun, without the pressure of being elite.

I agree with you forever. I have fear I am only 1 from 1 milion peples whi will play this game....
it is a great idea. so more politician. "if you have money so try do it more for ecosystem. if you have money so try help other people". it is a great idea will not ever functional in materialism. because if you have money you will not go only with your shoes without car, airplane etc. if you have money you will not use your hands only! if you have money you will pay your slaves forever! yes it is a fact. you can not do create a better world. nobody can not do!
Are you doing shoping daily? Ok you are materialist.Does not matter if you are multimilionar. There is no different about you and Bill Gates.
the gaming industry is hard capitalism. there is no exist company who will do made game for people only for money.
btw your dream come true." if any game is not working properly you have not create your own system for overpowered this issue" ***Every people want be a Bill Gates forever!***

TIP: if your defenseman is on your defense zone and your attackman is over your blue line so quick release R2 for pass without holding! your defenseman will do a fast pass to your attackman with the best speed (automatically). this situation you can not do anytime....
There is no different about you and Bill Gates.
the gaming industry is hard capitalism. there is no exist company who will do made game for people only for money.
btw your dream come true." if any game is not working properly you have not create your own system for overpowered this issue"
***Every people want be a Bill Gates forever!***
