I think this game is heading in the right direction! Overall, I think 21 is a few steps above past titles, and it’s encouraging to see improvements being made, especially considering this being a bridge year to the new console.
Some recommendations I’d have that could add more to our HUT experience, I feel would make it even more enjoyable, and I think now would be a great time for everyone to chime in since this is probably when the dev team will be hip deep in development for 22... First:
-it would be nice to have our own BAP player cards be something we can draw in packs/challenge rewards! Then our overall would mirror what our overall would be in BAP mode (would encourage more gameplay between the two modes and would be awesome to see our own players play on a line w like Crosby, Gretzky, mcdavid, etc.) - synergies could either be unlocked through time or established based off what your players build is like dangler synergies being magician and team synergy being like distributor or something
-full customization over jerseys and arenas like you would see in eashl (with the option to still use preset nhl jerseys like we already can in current HUT) - would love to see something implemented like we see in online clubs for fifa and 2k where you can create your arenas, control what fans wear on certain nights, customize goal celebrations ie flames/smoke/crowd effects/chants when scoring goals, going on power play etc
-I honestly don’t mind the music, but it would still be awesome to be able to upload our own songs for goals, powerplays etc - and not just for hut but for any mode in the game like eashl
-ability to customize your players gear - like jersey tuck for malkin, putting helmet on lafluer etc - don’t think a majority of
People would care but maybe some would like me!
-I’d like the ability to be able to change my team name throughout its lifecycle - maybe limit it to three different times?
-get rid of team records altogether - would maybe help some of our mental health and not make every game seem like a must win - you can tell that opinion comes from experience haha
Again, I like where this game is going. This is probably the first year I’ve ever been this invested into HUT since it’s inception. Hopefully these little tweaks here and recommendations there of mine could be implemented, and I’d love to hear some of everyone else’s thoughts about where they feel the game mode can improve as well!!

Excellent post and good timing on your part. We're actually looking to gather some quality of life feedback from users in these forums to send over to the HUT development team for future updates/future titles. I'm going to sticky this post to the top of this board and encourage everyone to detail your top requested features you want within HUT.
Menu layout, controller setup, challenge descriptions, you name it. Let us know what we could do for you to make HUT a more fluid experience for you.

Be a Pro was my favorite mode until Squads came and it would be cool to combine the 2.
This seems like a lot to manage but I do wish there were more than just NHL arenas in HUT. I'd love play on an International or CHL rink from time to time....I also wish we could select a favorite team from outside the NHL when we create our HUT teams.
It would be nice to have them appear in inbox instead. Less hassle is always better.
Do you have any words on any server updates happening anytime soon?
Every card should have strengths and weaknesses, maybe chemistry could negate some of the weaknesses or boost the strengths.
Instead of giving the probabilities of a pack, give us the exact contents of the pack. Example, this pack contains 10 81s, 4 83s, 2 86s and 1 90.
When doin Icon sets, let's us pick from all the icons or remove the ability to get duplicates.
Bring back the set allowing you trade in old monthly collectables for current ones.
Someone already said remove the puck protection bubble and I cannot agree more.
Bring back the ability to blow a tire if circling or turning too sharp, too fast.
Don't nerf the pivot of players without the puck.
Make AI and goalies smarter.
For the love of God, actually balance the game. Stop favouring offence at every turn.
EDIT: Also remove the Skill-zone from the game completly.. There is no way u should be able to stand in the slot and let the AI do all the defending THAT is competetive whatsoever...
And also, Remove the DDA... (yes its real) my fully rested FF gaborik with spark and db, has been catched up on a breakaway by Base Hedman with Howitzer....

Where are you located?
Please bring some incentive to play HUT with friends. So me and my friends buy cards, then what? We get no rewards for playing against each other, and no stats are kept. How is the card I just spent $50 for doing for me? I dunno, because this game can't keep stats (Microsoft Baseball could back in 1982).
It's sad that I have to think "Gee, it sure seems like he scores a lot but I can't tell. I sure wish there was some technology out there that could add numbers for me so I don't have to get my notebook out each game like I did for NHL games in the 90's."
This is why I don't buy Madden anymore. MUT keeps zero stats, so why would I buy cards if a Basic sports function like that can't be met. MLB the show does it right as far as stats, maybe steal some of their developers? Lots are moving out of CA and FL is a great destination. Ya don't even need the good ones...stat aggregation is pretty easy to implement I would think.

I used to enjoy playing NHL, now it's the most anger inducing game I have ever played.. worse than bloodbourne.. and I still haven't even beat that.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FIX THE PASSING!! The amount of times that a delayed pass happens and forces me to turn the puck over is astounding. I switch to a player but the game does it for me automatically and I pass the puck as soon as I get it usually sending it down for icing. On top of that.. the pass selection also needs major improvement. It's laughable at how disgraceful this game is. Ex. Clear man in slot with a trailer following who has 2-3 defenders following him, while I carry puck along the wing, try passing to the slot, the intended player to receive the pass lifts his skate and let's it go by him to the person trailing who is then pokeed immediately turing the puck over for a breakaway on me and they score.
oh and maybe the speed of some of the defense or slow down the speed of other players, get blown by and when I poke I trip, and when I block the slot it goes right through anyways, and when I do nothing... guess what... they score, so I tried to counter but with no avail.

If all your pokes are causing trips, you'll need to be more careful with them. Personally, I get the majority of my trips from rushing the poke instead of being conscious of the angle I'm poking from. They're most always when I've had a defensive breakdown and am scrambling to break up the play. Being more disciplined will end up causing fewer trips.
When a player lifts their skate, it's because the pass was charged enough to get to the player past them. Not charging the pass so much should get it to the intended receiver. I definitely get this isn't the easiest to do when you have a small window for charging the pass. Then mix in the on-ice activity and it can get a bit frantic. I too have been frustrated when this happens, but it's also controllable.
You mention blocking the slot isn't working. If you're seeing pucks pass through bodies, sticks, skates, etc, try to get some video so we can see what's going on.
First off, the game play is actually good. Well done this year. Last I played was NHL 19, and that was unbearable to play. So I took a break and here I am. Good game play is a big win. So my complaints..
Who is the target customer?
The unabomber types and those who don't like hockey? I say unabomber because he is a loner, and there is no meaningful competitive play with friends online other than basically play now. You can say HUT isn't meant for that, but there no other mode either. There is no game history where I can look at games I've played with friends, and no stats kept. This is ridiculous in 2020/2021. I then say people who don't like hockey, because who the heck asked for HUT Rush? The 3v3 single score games last 10 seconds usually. Other than grinding the HUT Rush games objective what a useless mode. Who came up with this crappy idea? Who are these people in the community who are asking for this?
Announcer can't say the scorers name?
Panarin is the on;y player on my HUT team whose name I've heard the announcer say when he scores a goal. Are there only a few names that were recorded? Every goal should have an announcer say the name. Maybe steer some resources to the sound studio? I'd think it would only be an hour or two for them to record all the name. Hearing "he" scores is pretty generic for the how many versions of this game now? Without the verbal, it takes awhile for the game to even tell me who scored. With so many players of the same number it isn't always obvious.
Why is EA always the fun governor?
Oh great there are some new packs available. Let me spend a quick $20 to buy a couple. Whoops, no can do. I can only buy 2 packs in 24 hours, Can't I just buy the max level I can buy total? Why do I have to buy 2 now and then wait 24 hours to buy 2 more, etc. If I can buy 4 in 2 days, can"t I just buy all 4 now? What a pain in the you know what. You make it difficult to play this game and have fun. Then there are all these cooldowns on icons and such, geez. And it isn't even a calendar day or week, it is the actual time since I did it myself? Garbage.
Also, I am sick of playing the same team every time. You need to make more players relevant.
What is the purpose of having stadiums when each game has the EA logo or some other one other than the team whose stadium I'm in? If i'm playing in Detroit can I have a red wing on the ice? Im painfully aware this is an EA game already.
Again, stats. Stats are sports. EA as a whole seems to ignore these. MUT, HUT, doesn't matter. Need them for games with friends and to expand them in general. Even just allow the friend stats to aggregate with the ones already kept. Like MLB the show, a "vs. computer" and an "online" stats separation would be great too. Hits, Shots, PP goals, SH goals....I know you've pretty much removed PP as important in HUT, but still a nice stat to have.

If I open a pack and get a card that I'd like to sell, I have to send it to my collection, go to the Auction House, remember the team and position, then set the filter and hopefully find the same card so I can find out what he sells for. Unless there's another way that I don't know about! :smiley:
I should be able to open a pack, see the cards that I get, then compare price and sell any that I don't want to keep before they go anywhere near my collection, and know that I'm selling at the current market value.
There also needs to be a name-based search in the auction house. It's crazy that I can't just type a player's name, or part of their name.
Also, it would be nice to filter the Autofill on sets a bit. If I want to keep my NHL players when trading in golds for a gold collectible, I have to do it card-by-card. It would be great to be able to choose to autofill by league. That, or allow me to add multiple cards at a time, rather than find the card, hit "Send to Set", hit add, find the card, hit "Send to Set" and repeat over and over.
Wish list
#1 - Fix the auction house. I'm sure you have some ridiculous reasons for everything, but...
-Why can't I take down a posting if no one has bid on it? Especially if someone undercut it by 100 coins...
-Why can't I follow my bids in real time? Every time it seems I watch my bid end as the winner only to find out someone bud 50 more coins at the end without letting me know? It even said "ended" with my bid amount. Ridiculous.
Why can't I search auction house from the Post New Auction section...isn't that the whole point? No, let me go back to my collections and search out players in the teams section. That makes sense, thanks for the convenience. This game is a hassle to play most of the time. How about some common sense?
#2 - Enough with the cooldowns! Oh, I just got stiffed with my icons selection I was provided....you want me to stew in getting screwed for a whole week before I can try again even thought I've paid who knows how much to get no usable cards from packs and only have tons of lower golds to trade in. Thanks EA. It's like you're flipping me the bird every chance you get.
#3 - If it says two packs in 24 hours, why can't I buy two packs? Is it broken down into some invisible 12 hour portions? When I spend money I want to be happy I did...every time I spend with EA not only do I get nothing in the packs (other than the low golds that my ability to use is rationed such as in icons), but I can't even buy packs half the time.
#4 - Again, some incentive to play with friends. Stats, rewards, something. There is no reason my stats can't be included in the player stats on the My Team page. None whatsoever, everybody (2K, SOE/Daybreak) so there is no good reason you can't.
Mainly, EA needs a competitor.

As a new player, this one really confused me. I was given some points at Christmas by somebody who assumed I played NHL (which I didn't, at the time!) and it's like I'm not allowed to spend them. New Years' Eve packs said they were limited to 2, but I was only ever able to open one.
Every other pack says "No Limit" under the pack itself, which just makes no sense. I get that refers to Lightning Rounds or limited-stock events (I assume) but if they can put a big cooldown timer on SBCs, why can't they put one on packs if they're time-limited? They clearly know how many a person has bought and how many they're allowed to buy, so why not show it on the store screen?
