So for the heck of it, i let my 6 year old whos never played this game in his life play a rivals game. He got 6 shots all game and scored 2. He lost 3 to 2. 37 shots to his 6. He won zero faceoffs, had less than a min TOA, AND my team is nowhere near the opponents team...
Ok hold uppp....a 6 year old whos NEVER PLAYED NHL almost beat a div 3 team with 6 shots on goal. Im done lol. How can you even justify that EA?

I think it's fairly easy to tell a story like this without providing any evidence.
Not saying you're making it up.. but you're making quite the claim without any pics/videos to back it up.
Yea I get that, but claiming someone who's "never played the game" is only losing by one-goal to an opponent with a far superior lineup is a big one to make. And then to ask how EA justifies it.. without providing any other context (ie: video, screenshots).. it just raises more questions, no?
Late to the party but I think this game is getting worse. For every good thing EA does there is something they add or tweak to make it worse. 2 steps forward and 1 back.
You can do a Michigan but cannot have your guys on the PP stop moving. You can do a Kucherov deke but the AI struggles with breaking out of it's zone.

Could be the Crosby of eSports for the NHL franchise. You'd be surprised how good younger kids are at video games these days with their fast twitch reflexes.

I think you've missed the point.
I don't care how fast a kid's reflexes are, if they have zero hockey knowledge/IQ, it shouldnt even have been close.

I was thinking, in a best case scenario, that there might have been a little hyperbole on xxlearn2swimsxx's part, but you're kidding, right?
I mean, if you do consider his statement to be 100% true, your response was just a bad comedic attempt to diffuse the topic in order to avoid having to address the actual issue and not an actual response that anyone who has played a few iterations of this game should take to seriously, yes?

Is he supposed to take a hyperbolic comment serious or not?

It would appear this forum can't decide.
There was zero hyperbole. It happened. Doubt it all you want but it happened.
I have currently burned through about half my "free" trial (I had to subscribe to EA play to get it LOL). I will play the rest out, and despite the fact that I will acknowledge I have gameplay adjustments to make, I have to say in it's current state this game is pretty unplayable for Defense. At the very least it's more like work than fun, moreso than previous years.
Effective offense requires very little skill while effective defense requires you to be a wizard practically. This has been true for a while now but this year the difference is pretty stark.
I understand that gap control is a bit different this year, and I can probably adjust to that but this cross crease business is pretty abysmal.
Hard pass from me this year, which gives me no joy to say.

And that didnt even take the entire trial for you to conclude the game is a mess...yet they played with it for months and still released it like this.

Well OTOH you could call this "first impressions". I mean it's possible with more time I may grow to like it more - and there ARE things I like about it, even improvements I can see - checking and DSS to name two.
However...
I have played 3 times during (what I used to think was) prime time and 2 out of 3 times the population was "low". This fact alone - not even trying to interpret the "why" of it - is troubling and making me think I might stay away. If there is no one playing it now, it will be a graveyard in August.
So I played 4 more games last night. Things were a little better, though getting 3/4 team wins helps.
This is a very different game defensively than previous several years. Not entirely worse overall maybe... but certainly different.
It was not my imagination... definitely seeing improvements with checking and use of DSS. I still maintain however that the inability to effectively make small movements in front of the net as a defenseman needs to be addressed... especially if they are going to continue to let perfect cross crease passing plays materialize out of seemingly nothing.
One particularly egregious cross crease got through where there was really no passing lane and I was not quite in perfect position resulting in a goal. In my defense, it really looked like there was no way a pass could get through to the guy I was trying to cover.
Speaking of which - as someone else noted - why AREN'T goalies getting a poke check on pucks that cross right in front of them through the blue paint?

Anyone with experience playing this series has to be aware of how flawed it is, and of how much automation is programmed in.
While it arguably requires (game) skill to be consistantly good at the game, it doesn't require much to be occassionally successful.
*to be abit sarcastic but still abit truthful*
😏

I regret buying it.

Correct. My son is ranked very high in fortnite. He picks up games quickly.

I am hoping this might be a wakeup call for EA.
